Guest Reviews
- Patricia (10/5): It was a quick get away but it was perfect - Quiet and beautiful. Everything was perfect! Being in a jeep the drive up was Awesome but if it was a normal vehicle it may not have liked it
- Marie-Thérèse (10/5): Étape dépaysante dans un beau chalet isolé dans les bois - Parfait. Dépaysant. Calme
- Ryan (9/5): It was relaxing and very nice. Very cozy - Friendly staff and great amenities. Parking was tiny for pickups.
- Owens (10/5): Rustic country charm with a view - The rustic charm of the cabin made for such a relaxing day stay, so much I booked an extra day. A very clean, comfortable well furnished home with excellent views. The host, Tammy, was very responsive via text when I had a question. Will definitely be staying here again!! A part of the road leading to the home needed to be graded.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent, would definitely do again if we return to the area. - Beautiful cabin, very comfortable, enjoyed the hot tub and it was nice to have use of the dish washer, fireplace, and a washer/dryer. Very nice outdoor arbor and grill area. Didn't use the brick oven but would have liked to. Felt very secluded, which was nice. Liked not really seeing anybody (very private). Very well-laid out, heated well, nice lighting and ceiling fans. Nice to have windows and doors open at times. A lot of very nice details, sort of chic-rustic. A lot of variety for cooking (stove, oven, outdoor grill and brick oven, microwave, air fryer, instant pot). Very nice fridge/freezer, and spacious for 3 adults. Nice office/tv room upstairs. Beds were comfortable, lots of closet storage. Good reading available too. Could use measuring spoons. Garden looked run down/overgrown. Dish washer seemed to not work well. Asked for firewood, got no response. (None was provided despite notice on wall saying it was.) Need to invest in some better pillows (more supportive). Beds in both rooms were rather high (I'm short, and my short 78-year-old mother needed help to get into bed).

- MARTIN (10/5): - Außergewöhnliche Lage, rustikal mit sehr viel Charme
- Angela (7/5): Beautiful if you have a 4 wheel drive - Nice home for getting away. Only 1 tv and it's upstairs, which was ok for us. We don't watch much. Wonderful kitchen, pretty garden area. Nice hot tub. Nice outdoor sitting area and swing. Roads to get there are in poor shape. Much of them are dirt roads with huge potholes. And roads are steep. Really need a 4 wheel drive to make it there without worry of vehicle damage.

- Speight (8/5): Peaceful retreat, looking forward to rebooking next year! - Very private, spacious home and outdoor space, plenty of essentials, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedding. Wonderful property and seamless check-in! Could use a small tv downstairs and some extra light bulbs & flashlights, but otherwise a very enjoyable stay! :)
- Francesca (10/5): - Everything! Super cute and cosy. The hosts left lots of information inside about hikes and here to eat. If we are ever in the area we will definitely come back again!
- Benjamin (9/5): -
- Sergey (10/5): - Very peaceful and relaxing place. Spacious house and amenities with everything we needed. I wish we stayed longer.
- Kimberley (7/5): -
- Teresa (10/5): - This is a beautiful, serene setting. I sat on the porch to have coffee in the morning, and a hummingbird came so close I could have touched her. Not once but 3 times. The layout is very well thought out for rooms. Unfortunately for us, we arrived very late and did not get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Easy check-in. Great hosts. Would definitely stay there again.
- Guest (10/5): If you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet cabin for your family then this place is for you, it was a great getaway afte - I have a 3yr old and a 1yr old, so my family loved that there was enough bedrooms for each person to have their own rooms (1yr old had his own pac n play to sleep in while my 3yr old slept in the upstairs bed). The house was very clean and was well stocked with house hold utensils. The owners were very quick to respond when we had a question and were very kind. We loved the peaceful and quiet location the most! Nothing we didn’t like, the house was perfect for my family and I!
- Trina (8/5): Great stay for the price. - Couldn’t beat the price. It was clean and close to Warren dunes. Breakfast was typical hotel powdered eggs and sausage but the waffles were good.
- Lisa (10/5): Beautiful place. We especially enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and gazebo! - Perfect cabin in the woods
- Anderson (10/5): Stay at Homestead - I liked everything about the cabin! The lil mercantile was so cute and definitely had everything you needed. It had a sauna, pond, plunge pool on site and a gorgeous view of the mountains! The host was extremely polite and very accommodating. The maintenance man was friendly and he told us of a couple good restaurants to try. The cabin was extremely clean. We had a hot tub and wonderful gazebo to relax, chill and enjoy our evenings. I highly recommend this cabin. The top of the driveway is rough, but just go slow and easy, to have a peaceful getaway.
- Judith (9/5): Comfy cozy quiet solitude. - Sweet cabin with Scandinavian touches throughout, including handmade furniture and decor. Very comfy bed. Needed some TLC, especially on the outside and porches, but cozy and quiet. Bee hive in driveway entry, which is ok for many, but I’m allergic, so can’t return.
- Sheila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allegra (10/5): We had a great time visiting the local attractions. Plus just a rainy day at the cabin was lovely too. - Beautiful location. Everything we needed was there. Definitely need a higher profile vehicle to reach the property.
- Wendee (10/5): Nothing short of perfect - If you're looking for a little slice of heaven on earth, look no further. I have nothing but good things to say about the property. It was perfect for a couple, although it could easily accommodate two couples. It was 100% pet-friendly, which is a major plus for us and our two dogs. Tammy is amazing. She will respond quickly to any text you send her. You NEED to stay at Homestead!!!!!
- Charlene (9/5): Superb - The peace and quiet surrounding the property. It was cozy and charming. It had everything that we needed during our stay. The road to get there was a little rough.
- Plodzik (10/5): Exceptional - It was absolutely beautiful! No handrails in shower or by toilet, I have multiple sclerosis and I fell trying to get off the toilet because they had no grab bars!
- William (9/5): Quick and easy booking and occupation. No hassles and no issues. -
- Sandra (10/5): Wonderful! Would do it again - and make it a destination instead of just a stop along the way! - Beautifully decorated. Warm and cozy. I wish we could have stayed a week but our destination is SC. A little hard to find..nestled in the woods. Glad we found it before dark.
- Angie (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazing. This was probably the most relaxing vacation we have had in a very long time. Staff was knowledgeable about the area, and we took advantage of their hiking suggestions. It was one of the best trips we have ever taken. Nothing, it was secluded and relaxing. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - The location was amazing, so beautiful.
- Lowe (10/5): Wonderful - The location was great. The view was breath taking. Tammy Jean was an excellent hostess. Nothing that I didn't like
- Thomas (1/5): Terrible - Getting my refund after hours of basically begging the host. Taking accurate photos of the property and surrounding areas. Inform people who are renting the property is on land with other properties as well. Not alone. The property wasn’t locked. Had to call the host serval times to get them to speak to booking.com. When I voiced my concerns with the property owner she belittled them and told me that it wasn’t an issue and until I threatened to leave a honest but horrible review. She decided to finally refund me my money MINUS a 35 dollar cleaning fee because I walked in the property.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Bridget (9/5): This is a great mountain home get away. - Easy instructions. Place had lots of cozy touches. Very cute home. Spa is great. Lots of little enjoyable indoor and outdoor spots to enjoy. Incredible outlook to view the mountains. Road can be slick and muddy, a little rough. It is a bit out of the way. Instructions posted say check out is 10am but it said 10:30am on Booking. This needs to be fixed as guests might be upset.
- Smith (8/5): The place is amazing and the value is excellent. - The amenities, the view, the layout of the cabin, just beautiful. The only issue was no grill brush to clean the gas grill.
- Carla (7/5): Charming cabin! Spectacular view! - It was a charming homey feel! It was a bit chilly in the morning so we weren’t able to enjoy the lovely seating area. The view was spectacular! There was no book or set of instructions on what we needed to do prior to checkout. We arrived in the early evening and there were some lights on which was so appreciated but there were several spots in the cabin that either had no bulbs or missing some so it was a bit too dark for our liking.
- Rick (10/5): This was our second stay at Homestead. We enjoyed the second visit more than the first. We think it’s awesome. - We enjoyed everything about Homestead Retreat. Nothing!
- Wendy (8/5): Great view and very cozy. Would recommend Get Farther Away to friends and family. - Cozy with a fireplace. Lightbulbs needed checked, replaced
- Justin (9/5): I had a great stay minus the little ladies - Everything was great… One thing that bothered all of us was when we got there , there was hardly any bugs second night coming back from casino the house was full of orange lady bugs literally every where but we tried to kill as many as we can but they where annoying other than that I love this place .
- Ashley (10/5): Beautiful short stay, well equipped. - Beautiful property, fun amenities, cabin was gorgeous! Not a thing! Would return again!
- Kailyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (7/5): Good - I loved the location and the coziness More TVs
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kailey (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay!
- Smith (10/5): The cabin far exceeded our expectations. We certainly hope to stay again, only longer next time. - The view was amazing. The house itself was clean and well stocked. Lots of amenities as well. I cant think of anything.
- John (10/5): very affordable and nice accommodations - ate at Cracker Barrel need to make sure smoke detectors are in proper working order
