- Robert (4/5): Very disappointing unit and condo complex. For $6500 we expected better. - Location was convenient to Old Towne, close to freeway to go other places, nice to walk along the very nearby canal. No laundry in unit, but shared central laundry room was clean. However, no supplies for purchase. During our stay, the front door electronic unit lock failed and management was quick to replace it with a key lock. Primary bedroom bed firm and very comfortable. Second bedroom mattress very soft, uncomfortable to us. Normally, we expect to see a loose-leaf binder with info on the unit, the complex, location of the key to the pool and laundry, a site map for the condo complex, info about the area, including maps, location of grocery stores, and transportation options. NOTHING was provided. The condo complex grounds should be attractive, but apparently it houses some extremely ignorant, inconsiderate residents. LOTS of piles of dog doo around grounds and near sidewalks, never cleaned up during the month we stayed. Pool and pool area very small. One resident owner actually brought her dog into the pool, saying she wanted to "teach him to swim" and "didn't care about the posted rules." Unit is rather dark, small windows, patio always in shade, no other outdoor private space in sunshine. Two bathrooms in unit; no safety grab bars, no non-slip pads in shower or tub. DANGEROUS. Not even a bathmat for when you step out of the tub or shower. Scratchy towels. Not a good unit for older people because of these safety issues. Parking is a problem; no assigned parking place is provided, just instructions to park in one of a handful of unassigned/uncovered parking spots. Of six available spots near our unit, two were permanently occupied by vehicles that never moved for the month we stayed. Unless we got back to the lot by 5 pm, all spots were often filled and we were forced to park a considerable distance away. The unit itself is badly in need of a refresh; it is verging toward shabby. The filthiest, grimey area rug I have ever seen in the dining area. The dining chair cushions are stained and dirty. Only two kitchen towels and one sink sponge provided. Unusable broom. Outdoor furniture cushions very dirty.
Not even a can of Comet under either bathroom sink.
