The furnishings are brand new and in excellent condition. We missed patio furniture to sit outside. It was very hot when we arrived so a little splash pool/dam would be a great addition. It will also make the property more marketable in future.

The property owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they really went out of their way to make me feel at home. Small touches like providing wood and fire starters for braaing, as well as bug spray, made a big difference and showed how thoughtful they are about their guests’ comfort. They treated me extremely well throughout my stay, and I truly appreciated their kindness and hospitality. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming farm stay.

• Johann Wolfgang (10/5): Idealer Standort aus allen Richtungen zwischen Upington und Augrabies. - Exklusiv ausgestattetes Ferienhaus mit 2 grossen 3-Bettzimmern, 2 Bädern, riesiger Küche und grossem Wohnraum sowie 3 Garagen und schmaler Terrasse vor dem Haus etwas abseits der Hauptstrasse, daher sehr ruhig. Gute Betten. Gute Vorabinfo per Whattsapp mit Anfahrtsroute und Zugangsinfo sowie vorab WiFi-Code. Gutes WiFi.Wir kamen mit einem zuvor gewechselten platten Reifen, der vom Gastgeber am nächsten Morgen kostenlos repariert wurde. Keinerlei Beanstandungen, gern wieder.

Coffee/tea with creamer and sugar was available. Showers had lovely hot water. Bed was super comfy and being on a farm we enjoyed the quiet

• Johannes (10/5): Grand Hotel meets farmhouse. - Who knew a farmhouse could be this GRAND? Its charm is beyond. The moment you arrive all your woes and worries are forgotten. Neatly cured by a lovely family it offers a million lovely details to discover, 5 star bathrooms and comfy beds for a good nights sleep. This is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. Super spacious, super safe, with the vineyards right next to it and the Orange river within walking distance (it also fills the pool at the main house which IS safe to swim although the opaque greenish colour of the river water may look a bit suspicious at first but trust me, you'll love the refreshment). Can't recommend this place enough and will be back with more time. Amazing night skies with all the stars shining bright. WiFi fast enough for zoom calls and very stable. Nothing really.
• Richard (10/5): Plush luxury - Location is well placed and spaced. It's out of buzz of town. Nice view of the vineyards. The High ceilings give that regal feeling. There is a huge washing machine for convenience. There is everything any family can need, even a cot. Both bedrooms have well placed aircons, and the lounge has 2 water coolers. As it is the season, the lounge even had a Christmas tree, nice touch. Garage is long enough even for double cabs which tend to be longer. The host, Petra, is the mother we all need at all times. What a warm welcome, can't thank her enough. We even got a personalised quick lunch/dinner. We will definitely be back and always book Geelkop. Highly recommended I didn't like the fact that we only had one night for this wonderful place

• Ronell (10/5): Wonderful house and location - Lovely big house, with enough space for the entire family to move around. Wonderful indoor braai, with supplied wood. Superbly comfy beds, with large bathroom and shower area. Friedly hosts, with great and quick communication. Would be a great place to stay for longer than 1 night, as so nice and quiet! Suggestion that additional bathmats are included for the shower area, as we used towels to avoid making the bedrooms too wet. But having said this, it in no way detracted from the super house and our stay.

Petra and Francois went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable to us and provided us with a list of attractions where we can go to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Upington area. Augrabies falls and Riemvasmaak was exceptional to name a few. The house has a stunning view over the vineyards.We stayed for 8 days and every day we had something different to do and place to go and explore. In the evenings we braaied outside and the stars and evening weather was wonderful. Francois even borrowed us two bicycles and we could do some sight seeing using them.... For the Upington renowned heat the house has aircons and water coolers keeping us cool and was wonderful. We recommend anyone to go and enjoy a couple of days and explore this exceptional area next to the orange River.

• Esther (10/5): My stay was excellent - There was no breakfast arrangements, the location is good and easy to locate. You are on your own and very peaceful. There was nothing that I did not like.
• Horst (10/5): Ich kann diese Stelle nur weiter empfehlen! - The hosts took great care with detail when furnishing the place. Good quality beds, furniture, kitchen equipment. THere even is emergency power backup for lights and WiFi during load shedding. A baby cot welcomes the tiny guests. I liked the large open garage, where you can park next to the house, offload and load in the dry when it rains, and in shad when the sun is shining. Sadly we could note make use of the supplied fire wood (old vine stocks), due to our short stay. I can only imagine how cosy the fire place will be on cold winter nights. The large braai on wheels means you can have your braai where you chose. On the whole it was a very pleasant experience, with a friendly and welcoming host. Everything was to my sastisfaction!

• Sesing (10/5): Geelkop's first guest! - You won't struggle finding this hidden gem, an absolute beauty of a place. The guesthouse on this farmhouse is stunning and so ever spacious! The host really went out of her way to make certain that I was comfortable and felt safe. People have got to go see it themselves, it honestly exceeded my expectations and is great value for money. I will definitely return to Geelkop over and over again. Thanks for having me! I wish I had stayed a little longer. There was nothing to dislike. The place and the hosts were nothing short of amazing. Loadshedding isn't a problem when you're a fan of the great outdoors.
