• Emma (7/5): Für den Preis und die Lage ist die Unterkunft dennoch weiterzuempfehlen. - Die Lage war super, wir waren direkt in einer Straße mit vielen Einkehrmöglichkeiten und direkt an einem Strand an dem man gut baden gehen kann. Die Toilette befindet sich hinter der Dusche im Bad, wodurch das Bad teilweise überall nass und sandig geworden ist. Der Bettbezug war sehr dünn sodass wir nicht darauf liegen wollten und deshalb die Decke unter uns gelegt haben.

• Thomas (4/5): Très décevant - L'établissement est situé sur la main street avec la plage qui est juste derrière. Les photos ne ressemblent pas du tout à la réalité. La chambre était très sale, les draps du lit et la salle de bain également qui elle était envahi de fourmis. Il n'y a pas de chaises ou meubles pour poser ses bagages. Le personnel n'est pas accueillant ni bienveillant. En payant par carte il y a une taxe de 3% comme partout sur l'île et non 5% comme le gérant voulait nous faire payer. Il y a des logements bien plus avenants et plus jolis le long de la côte.

Desde el momento en que llegué, el personal de recepción fue increíblemente amable y eficiente, haciendo que el proceso de "check-in" fuera rápido y sin complicaciones La habitación era impecable y muy cómoda, lo que nos permitió descansar muy bien durante nuestra estancia. El cuarto de baño también estaba muy limpio y bien mantenido.

• Chantelle (3/5): Beware, not like photos, suspect fake reviews. - Bed was comfy, had aircon and near beach. Not a good vibe at all, for all the good reviews on here I think a lot of them are fake. Host/owner was not super welcoming, and felt very awkward going in and out past him. Room also wasn't fantastic, they make it look a lot better in the photos. The flooring was some plastic vinyl stuck down with ductape, bathroom smelt like sewerage and had a small covered window, so was dark and depressing. They also play bad loud music at night. Didn't have the best experience here!

• Hanna (10/5): Exceptional - The BEST hostel in arugam bay, get in early because it’s popular! The people are the nicest and kindest and most welcoming in all of Sri Lanka! The breakfast and espresso coffee is delicious and the rooms are cleaned daily and are comfy with great facilities with a good location!! Highly recommend, made our time here! A MUST BOOK! You can book surfing lessons packages and tour packages also

• Maja (8/5): Very good - Very nice location and friendly staff. Everything is very near and the environment is vivid. You can take a surfing lesson with one of the best man in the Arugam Bay who has a cerficate. Also you can attend a safari if you want to use some break from the beach. Good vibes, reccomended!

• Hauke (5/5): Passable - It's right on the main road, but a bit more towards the end of it. Staff was nice and available though. There was no other guests there. Common area didn’t really exist, unlike in the pictures. The private room was very basic and didn’t really have a window that provided sunlight. No space for stuff and no bin in the room. For that the price was pretty steep to be honest. If you are looking for a private room do yourself a favour and book somewhere else for cheaper.

• Max (9/5): Happy as & would come back again!! - The hosts were incredible, always super friendly & accommodating! The room was big, clean & the AC is an absolute treat, beds were comfy & it was super quiet! Also organised doing my laundry for me it was just too good hahah I liked it all, just the location can be a bit annoying if you’re not a fan of walking but I was happy to walk!

The location is also great with many restaurants nearby and easy access to public transport. We would fully recommend it for anyone travelling to arugam bay Glad they upgraded my bed to ac female dorm when I realised I booked wrong dorm

• Agni (10/5): A truly amazing stay - The hostel is 2 minutes walk from the beach. Dorms are spacious and equipped with lockers and ac. The rooms and toilets are comfy, tidy and cleaned daily. The in-house restaurant is a game charger fo the lazy days, but there are also many restaurants nearby. There are a lot of activities in the hostel like movie night, karaoke, games and whatever your imagination and moods can bring! There are also cctv for your safety, which is pretty rare to find in Arugam Bay. Last but not least the people! The whole staff is amazing! So friendly and helpful, a prefect combination for a great stay! Everything was perfect
• Mekala (10/5): It gives you a home like feel with cleanliness around. - Stay at Costels was exceptional with neatly maintained rooms having clean and fresh bedsheets and no mosquitoes in the room. Bathrooms are very clean and hygienic gives you a home like feel. Staff were also friendly and polite. Looking forward for more stays here.
