- Hudson (8/5): - Love it! Thank you. The staff were fantastic. Only thing I would mention here is the confusion over parking.
- Eddie (10/5): -
- Diane (10/5): Excellent location, great host, great food - Beautiful setting, Andy is one of the best hosts we’ve encountered. He’s friendly, helpful, and professional. Dinner was also excellent. Perfect after a long day hiking. Nothing
- Daisy (9/5): -
- McConville (10/5): Refreshing. - Breakfast was lovely, location is beautiful. Staff and the general public who stay there are always lovely too. Nothing.
- Louis (10/5): Everything Really surprised me wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was especially for what I’d paid - Location was beautiful Every thing was great

- Chloe (10/5): Fantastic hostel in a lovely location - The owners are very kind and friendly and really know what they’re doing - the hostel has everything you could need. Probably the best value place I’ve ever stayed in the UK. Nothing
- joseph (9/5): Will stay again - Excellent location, great staff and priced very well Nothing
- Christiana (8/5): - Location is fantastic.
- Kirsty (10/5): Best hostel ever - Andy is an absolute asset to this hostel. Food delicious, and super clean and welcoming
- MATTHEW (10/5): Incredible value for money! - Very good value, considering the area. Excellent facilities including fully equipped self catering kitchen, as well as the option to order breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff.
- Harry (10/5): -
- Sanna (9/5): -

- Sean (1/5): Shit - Absolutely terrible Everything
- Diane (10/5): I will come back. Thank you so much! - It was located in a wonderful area. Stuff were very helpful and friendly. I particularly like that this hostel is an independent one. A bit old. That is at the same time also very nice and authentic.
- Shandy (8/5): Helpful, polite and communicative staff, who made my stay as smooth as possible!!! - From the first moment the gentlemen at the front desk helped me checking in early, I much appreciate that as I was moving from place to place and 3 hours prior to official check in he checked me in. That was already a huge favour. Throughout my stay the property was spick and span high quality cleanliness in the showers, toilets, rooms. I can only highly recommend it!!! Walkers, tourist, cyclists, fell runners etc. it's a nice, calm, quiet place to relax, walk, etc... Wasn't such a thing. Ohhh I forgot the FREE tea and coffee, anytime you like. So NO NEGATIVES whatsoever!!!

- Jack Thomson (10/5): Wonderful stay at Elterwater Hostel during my visit to the Lake District. - Andy and Charlie are the best hosts. Extremely friendly and helpful. The Hostel is warm and comfortable. I hope to return one day soon. Nothing.

- Meiyan (9/5): Value for money and a pleasant stay - The bed was very cosy exactly what you’d need after a long day hiking. The on-site breakfast was nice. Would def love to have dinner too as the menu on board looked so mouth-watering. Staffs super nice! The location is quite good actually - just 3min from the nearest bus stop. However, do take the whole travel time into consideration. Transferring between buses takes very long waiting time. It would be so frustrating as normally you’d assume at least one hour more to wait for the next one if having tragically missed the former. My case- took a wrong direction but jumped off as soon as i realised. Still missed the right one though. The next one was two hours later. Do not even think about Uber which just not working in the Lake District

- Jade (10/5): - Everything FOOD Was delicious Having to go home
- Molly (10/5): - The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Facilities were great and the beds were comfy. Felt very homely, and the views are 10/10. Short walk to local pub and 10 min drive to amenities in Ambleside. Perfect stay! No parking on property but a car park just 1 min walk away is fine, only a problem on a busy Saturday mid day when it gets full.
- Olumayowa (1/5): After booking ,the hotel staff started harassing I must come to sleep sooner than i expected, the manager obviously a ra - I found the place a bit neat The manager was very harsh, unprofessional,he was a racist
- Hui (9/5): 很干净,有地方特色 - 早餐 周围配套
- adele (6/5): -
- Fiona (10/5): A lovely hostel in a wonderful location. - A delightful find. Wonderful staff with a real community-minded approach. I didn't order the breakfast but when I saw it, I wished I had. The dorm was noisy but that was no fault of the establishment.
- Wiebke (9/5): -
- Keith (7/5): - Friendly reception, helpful
Great location No parking
A bit over priced for a single room
- Kathryn (10/5): We had a lovely stay. Thank you! - Beautiful location, friendly staff, delicious food.

- Veronica (9/5): Very nice stay - Nice and clean hostel close to beautiful hiking. The light in the bathroom turned on automatically when entering it and shined in the room in the middle of the night when everyone was trying to sleep.
- Kateryna (10/5): Exceptional -

- Lilynda (8/5): Fab - The friendly vibe of the staffs, the environment Can the check in be earlier rather than 5pm

- Dimple (10/5): Excellent staff was too good - It was nice comfortable place
- Frederick (9/5): First hostel experience, one of my favourite overnight stays ever! - Andy and Charlie were incredibly friendly and helpful. Felt very welcome and at home here. Facilities have everything you need, wifi is pretty good for the isolated location, and the breakfast is top notch too! The bunk beds aren’t super comfortable, but you know what you are signing up for. Overall, i just feel it’s a shame I didn’t get to stay for longer than 2 nights!
- Ottley (5/5): Passable - The location was gorgeous, staff were friendly the beds were clean and comfy 😊 Unfortunately we spent half hour on arrival catching spiders 🕷 and getting rid of the cobwebs as my daughter wouldn't sleep knowing spiders were there we caught 3 spiders.
- Kameliahb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Jule (9/5): Superb - I really enjoyed the area the accommodation is in. It's very peaceful and it gives you the opportunity to be away from most tourists. It might seem a bit hard to get to but the bus stop is really close and therefore is even without a car reachable. There are so many interesting walks nearby that this is also not something to worry about.
The people that run the accommodation do it with their hearts and you can feel that these people put their whole heart in it. The rooms might not be the most modern but there are definitely clean and comfortable.
- Alison (10/5): I stayed over to participate in the Fred Whitton cycling event and the hostel was perfect. Thanks! -

- Susan (10/5): Beautiful solo walking weekend - Excellent facilities, nice and clean, beds comfortable. Perfect location. There were no lockers or anywhere to store bags/clothes so we had to put them under the beds. It said free parking but you had to pay at a nearby car park. Thankfully someone gave me a ticket they no longer needed so I didn't have to pay.
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Great location, clean facilities, super friendly staff. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Village pub nearby.
Extraordinary surroundings of natural beauty. Parking on site is very limited, we needed to use the national trust parking, and pay. Beds are slightly small for taller travellers. Hostel is not staffed until 5 pm
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were really lovely and so hard working, they made everything so easy and had lots of great advice. The check in proces was easy, the hostel is in a spectacular location great for big walks. I am looking forward to visiting again and making the most of the home cooked dinner and board games and bar! Nothing, it was great.

- S (10/5): Peaceful, restful, comfy mattress in modern tasteful bunk room. Beautiful part of the country. - Modern bunks pleading to the eye, friendly staff, property clean and calm and peaceful when I was there as not many booked in, perfect for me, lovely spacious eating/sitting area, beautiful view out of bedroom at front and the dining/ lounge area. No parking space for car, had to use National Trust carpark a short walk away. That’s the only negative part of it all.
- Yanogya (9/5): Superb -
- Martina (10/5): Thank you for your hospitality and care! - I really felt welcomed. The hostel is cozy and the atmosphere friendly and inspirational.

- Billie (9/5): Superb -
- James (6/5): Pleasant - Staff were very friendly I thought £56 for a hostel was quite pricey, however I ended up in a room on my own so I can’t complain too much.
- Nicholas (6/5): A pleasant stay with good kitchen facilities, helpful staff. The place was clean, but dorm room lacked some security and - The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was clean and tidy. They served food and the kitchen was large and had a good amount of space, utensils etc to work with. Free WiFi was very useful seeing as there was no data service available there. So WiFi calling becomes handy. They provided free tea/coffee/milk. The atmosphere, vibe was lacking. The staff of 3-4 had a lot of work to do so there was less focus on keeping the place “alive”. It had more of a utilitarian sort of feel - like more a space to be used than enjoyed. I would say this would be the perspective of the younger crowd. The quiet, peaceful setting may well be more suited to the early morning hikers and or family groups who would rather a quiet night. Because after 10pm often the common area was empty and lights were out. The staff only manned the reception till 10pm so reception was also subdued after that. But I must say they were nice enough when they were there.
There is no car parking at this hostel so you need to find a spot outside of the restricted zone which is a few minutes walk away which isn’t major, but a bit of an inconvenience. Some of the usb charging ports at the beds didn’t work. And they only had one 3 pin plug point available in the 6 bed dorm room. There also isn’t any particular place for securing your belongings in the dorm room so you have to hope your room mates are decent human beings.
