Guest Reviews
- Florentine (8/5): - Our stay here truly felt like a home away from home. Izzi, the owner, and everyone working there gave us such a warm and welcoming feeling from the moment we arrived. We loved all the fun tours and experiences they offered, from the waterfalls, rice fields, and spices tour, to watching the traditional stick fighting.
The food was absolutely incredible, and in the evenings they made bonfires, played music, and sang with the guitar. They were also super helpful in arranging all the transportation we needed, including for our hike to Sangkareang. We are so grateful for the kindness and hospitality we experienced here and would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Tetebatu.
- François (10/5): - Izzi and his family are really nice people, go there to share good moments with them !

- Megan (10/5): Authentic local experience with amazing view - Amazing breakfast with many local options. Restaurant quality! I liked getting to know the host, who happens to be the chief of the village of Tetebatu. I learned so much about the culture and history.
- Valentin (10/5): Exceptional - We arrived as guest, we left as family! 🙏🌞
I think this is the best way to describe Izzi's wonderful place. We spent 5 nights, 6 days in this peaceful place. Izzi and his cousins make you feel like home, it is very easy to have good conversation with them, very open minded. Choosing to stay here was the decision of our trip in Indonesia. We were able to live the true experience of a local lifestyle.
Of course we have to mention the coffee, tea and other very nice drinks we were able to try for free. The breakfast is perfect and also there is a large menu for lunch and diner and everything is so tasty.
You can also choose from a variety of tours to do with Izzi or his cousins. We went on the local paradise tour and also to the Gili Kondo islands to do snorkeling in a private boat, such an amazing experience!
We also have to mention that Izzi is a real professional and very thoughtful, he's not disturbing your privacy. Always here when you need him.
We could write a book on what we experience here. We know now that we have a wonderful family here in Lombok and we will be more than happy to come back one day.
Thank you so much for everything 🙏 Nothing
- Angus (10/5): Exceptional - This Homestay was a highlight of our trip to Indonesia. The facilities were basic but perfectly adequate. More importantly though was how welcoming and generous Izzi and his family were. For your stay you really are treated as an extension of the family - we were even taken to a traditional Lombok wedding dinner in the village and then the ceremony the next day. Also the treks and tours on offer are fantastic!
- Nathalie (10/5): Great local experience - Great location and the staff were amazing, making you feel party of the family. All the tours in offer were great! The food was also great, and we ate with the family on our last night which was lovely.
- Matteo (9/5): Superb - Beautiful village and surroundings, warm family welcome (with drink and food on arrival!). Amazing experience with local interesting and interested people eager to share their culture !
We are happy to recommend this new place :)
Delicious food !! (Sometimes you have to wait a bit)
Great suggestion of activities (a bit expensive). Very small room, no sink, no room cleaning but it is hard to ask for more with this price !
- Lorène (10/5): Exceptional - We had a very good stay with Izzy and his family.
Different activities are proposed by the guest house.
We particularly enjoyed the walk through the rice fields and the monkey forest, as well as making our own coconut oil and coffee.
We also had the opportunity to learn how to cook traditional Indonesian dishes with Izzy's mother.
In the evening, we shared moments with the whole family, around a guitar and local rice wine.
The food proposed was also very good, and the breakfast made of fresh fruit and pancakes was delicious.
A big thank you to Izzy and his family for this great experience !
- Tom (9/5): A humble yet magical place hosted by a sweet and welcoming family. - Really loved my stay here! The owner and family went out of their way to make me welcomed and comfortable. I felt like I was part of the family. The owner offered and arranged local trekking into farmland, monkey forest and waterfalls. Very good home cooked meals. Basic accommodation but as expected in countryside homestay. Truly a magical time! Would like to have had a small sink in washroom, and bed could be better, but neither a big deal to me.
- Tim (9/5): Great family homestay - The family was super friendly, and they helped us organize a scooter for us to explore the many waterfalls and rice terraces around. Great breakfast and free tea and traditional lombok kopi whenever you feel like it. Perfect way to immerse yourself in lombok culture. They showed us the celebration and the games the people of the village are playing during independence Day.
Overall, it was a great experience.
- André (10/5): Exceptional - Al Farizi homestay was the place I loved the most during my all stay in Indonesia!
First of all, Tetebatu is an amazing place to discover: very authentic, the nature surrounding the village is stunning and the atmosphere is very relaxing.
Then, Izi, from Al Farizi Homestay, is the most wonderful host you could dream of! He and his family welcome me in a wonderful way and offer many activities: I did a cooking class with them, a hike to the waterfall through the rice fields and the monkey forest, and the last day Izi took me around very nicely to the local market, a basket-making workshop, a potery one and a batik workshop.
the place is also very well located, the rooms are very comfortable and offer a view on a charming garden.
Last but not least, the food cooked by Izi and his family is delicious, as well as the breakfast !
if you're looking for a real connexion with the people you're staying with, Al Farizi is the right place to go :)
- Chantelle (10/5): Amazing stay - Izzi's homestay Alfarizi was so friendly and inviting. Izzi is very accommodating and welcoming to everyone. The accommodation is simple but it allows you to really experience the local Lombok culture to the fullest.
The food at the homestay is fabulous and some beautiful local dishes to try.
Izzi also has amazing coffee and delicious home made ginger candy that you can only find at his homestay.
Izzi is able to arrange tours for lots of local waterfalls and monkeys forests.
The homestay has excellent wifi and laundry service.
We can highly recommend staying at Izzi's homestay Alfarizi and we will definitely be coming back soon. Nothing negative
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - I can only recommend this homestay! It has very basic facilities but is surrounded by beautiful rice fields. Izy, the host, and his whole family are really nice. He welcomed me with delicious food, was able to help with every question and offers interesting tours around Tetebatu. In the evening you can sit down with him and the family if you like and try some delicious ricewine. It also makes sense to eat there, because it tastes marvellous. - only a cold shower
- lots of ants
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - A big thank you Izzi and family!
If you want a truly indonesian experience and not just holiday that is your place to be.
- Nanette (8/5): Tetebatu is a very traditional town so it was great to experience their way of life. The locals are all amazing and made - The Homestay was nestled among rice paddies & very peaceful. The host family, especially Izi, were kind and very friendly, and provided a wonderful service to make us feel very much at home. Breakfast was generous with large fruit salad & a choice of pancakes or local food All good
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional - I was warmly welcomed by Izzi, the owner of the homestay, with a delicious lunch. Izzi is an excellent cook. I immediately felt at home. Thanks to very good Wi-Fi, I was able to do my work on the terrace with a wonderful view of the nature. He showed me his garden, we cooked local dishes together and I felt part of the family. Izzi answered every question I had and I learned a lot about the local culture. He is very helpful and caring at all times.
The tour to the waterfall, Black Monkey Forest and rice terraces was amazing. I was also able to gain an insight into the handicrafts in Tete Buta and lend a hand myself.
If you want to get to know the life of the locals better, you have to make a stop at Izzi's homestay.
- Pierrick (9/5): Great new homestay with friendly family - New homestay with only 2 rooms which allow a local immersion with the family which wants you to feel home.
Great welcome by Izi who took time to show us his garden and the village around, as well as cook for us :)
Nice room with a view on the rice fields,
Great stay ! No hot shower ;)
