- Bruno (7/5): A very pleasant house and the hosts are kind. - At the time I arrived at Karma.B in 4rd of April 2025 it was in a rainy afternoon and I had met some problem while driving there since my Gps was not working any longer as the battery system was on failure and myself was not in a very good health condition. But thanks to kind peoples in Reitz a small town nearby they just showed me the way to Kestell KarmaB. I finally managed to reach there. The ancient house well maintened by my host Vera Ann, was of course pleasant ; Indeed while the fireplace was burning in the house and the charming wooden flooring adding to warming the house further with the downpour outside, that was so pleasant to me ! Lucio the master of the house that I would like to thanks , helped with a new cable for the gps. And during the 4 days there I could retrieved my health. Thanks I courried off the helpful cable...Not to forget to tell that Vera's jams were delightful. I appreciate particularly the grape ones! Kestell is at about 70km to the Golden Gate Montain. So if one day hiking in Golden gate you will have to start early to have a full day hiking.
- Hubert (9/5): A cozy and colorfull hideout for hiking adventures and more! - The owner was super helpful in sharing all of the details about hiking in this area with us. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfy and warm. We love the two dogs that live on the property, and the jams were delicious! We did have some issues getting checked in as the property seemed to be locked down, and we couldn't reach the owners when we got there. As we didn't have a working phone number in SA, we tried to reach them via WhatsApp. After approx. 30 minutes later, they called back and everything was resolved. All was good, but it was stressful, especially given that it was already really dark.
The bathroom needs some renovations.
- Adventourist (9/5): Superb - Vera-Ann and Lucio are excellent hosts with warm hearts. The set-up is homely and intimate. We stayed in the room with a double bed and it was very comfortable and warm. Vera-Ann kindly prepared hot water bottles for us and shared stories of her hiking adventures. We had access to coffee and tea and even toast and jam. A perfect stay after coming down from sleeping on the mountain at Tugela Falls. A bath shower vs a normal shower but that's a personal preference. It worked perfectly for one night.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iris (10/5): Warm, informative, friendly, cosy - Lucio is the friendliest and the backpacker is beautifully decorated All was perfect
