Elaine Balsom (9/5): - We throughly enjoyed our stay. Nice compact and very cozy. We definitely will return. There were no extra benches or storage in the bathroom to place toiletries. I would suggest something in the towel area to lay items. There is a lot of space between the toilet and wall, this is another great area for a table, bureau, or some sort of storage for clients to place their items.
Figgyduff (9/5): Great deal for the cost, I would stay again if in the area and needed a place to stay. - Great location (in terms of nearby sites and things to do), convenient, everything very clean. Convenience store on site is helpful too, really friendly staff. We were only there for a night literally, so we didn't get to see the site much. The 2 room cabin met our needs very well, and was very comfortable. The cabin is facing the road so there is road noise, but that is to be expected.

Leslie (7/5): Great for a short stay and not far away from all restaurants and services - Location was good would have been nice if there was grass on both sides of the cabin instead of dirt and rock but it was fine for a night we travelled for our dog to have surgery so it was not too far away from the animal hospital and he could get outside better than a hotel has pretty much everything you would need for a short stay fridge microwave untensils dishes and you can cook if you need to with 2 elements no oven but great for a dhort stay cant complain we slept on the pull out couch which was better for our dog the mattress on this is wore out we never tried the bed The air conditoner was falling apart grills falling out and the hose that vented outside was all fell apart my husband had to tape it on so it coukd vent outside

Jeanine (10/5): - Full half-sized kitchen with all the things you need. I loved that It had a bbq. We were able to enjoy steaks, and it was super cozy. I didn't like that the bedroom had thin white shades. A darker shade would have been nice. I would have liked to sleep past 6 am. Next time, we will be sure to bring face masks.

Holly (7/5): - I loved that it was a cozy little cabin, it was private and had lots of bedding. The canteen was great and the staff were super helpful and friendly. It was also in a great location with lots of things to do and see nearby There wasnt much we didn't like! There were some parts of our cabin that needed to be cleaned and was dirty when we arrived. A couple things were a little broken or run down, like furniture or window screens. I'm not sure what the smell was in the cabin, but there was a very strong smell in the cabin that did not go away. Overall it was enjoyable though!
Thomas (9/5): - Unser Cottage war sehr gemütlich. Wir waren zu 4. unterwegs und hatten ausreichend Platz. Betten waren bequem, Küche hatte alles was man braucht um kochen zu können und es waren mehr als genug Handtücher vorhanden. Gemütliche Sitzecke mit 2 Sofas und Fernseher war ebenfalls vorhanden. Das Bad hatte einen "Lichtkanal" auf's Dach, so dass man es hell hatte ohne das Licht einschalten zu müssen. Die Lage ist super um mit dem Auto diesen Teil von Neufundland entdecken zu können. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und diverse Restaurants bzw. Fast Food Sachen gibt es in Bay Roberts zu dem man keine 10 Minuten mit dem Auto braucht. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Klopapier viel zu dünn, selbst für kanadische Verhältnisse. Die Türen waren extrem laut und haben gequietscht und geknarrt, so dass man beim etwaigen nächtlichen WC-Gang seinen Partner unweigerlich geweckt hat.

We'll equipped kitchenette and bathroom.. Private rear deck. Very poor to non-existent wi-fi. Needs more places to store or hang clothing. We understand that an effort is being made to upgrade the wi-fi services. Used phone as mobile Hotspot to facilitate laptop usage.
Janelle (10/5): A few small issues, but will 100% book again now that we know what to expect. - We loved how quite and relaxing the place was. We wish we would’ve booked for longer, but we plan on going back when time permits! The TV wouldn’t connect to the cable box so we had to use our laptop. The wifi also did not connect in the pod we were in so we had to rely on our cellphone data. Also seemed like we went through a lot of tissue as it was 1 ply, and wish someone had told us there was a heated pool on site, would have killed some of our boredom while trying to charge the laptop for entertainment.

I used google map and it didn't show the correct address for the office. it 's not 1 main road roaches line, Bay Robarts as in the eamil nor 70 raiches line as I called the office. It's campground, the washroon and the bedding are not good. There is no resturant close by.

An additional 47 dollars for two dogs, having to ask precise questions to get answers checking in (only 20 mins early!!), didn't know which cabin I was assigned nor if it had been cleaned, treated me like an inconvenience... Looked at me like I should have been told all this information prior to check-in... I booked through booking.com

Cathy (4/5): Not the best place to stay - The quonset hut was in the wooded area, was quiet and private. Most of the equipment needed in the kitchen, was there. The shower was nice. The bed was comfortable. The sofa bed was ok. There was a public laundry which was clean. The quonset hut was not what I was expecting. I expected a cabin or chalet, not a tiny structure. It was so small inside. The bedroom had a window but the blinds banged if it was open and there was any wind (there is always wind in NL). The only other window in the place was in the top part of the front door but couldn't be opened. There were two doors into the bathroom - one from the bedroom and one from the living/kitchen area. It was very difficult to work them. You were either opening or closing one or both constantly. The both squeaked until my husband fits it with a little soap. There was a tiny sink for the bathroom - probably 14" x 6' so it was hard to keep the water in the sink. There was very few places to put things like in the bathroom so we put one of the stools used for the dining room table. We also used the stools as side tables in the living area. The bedroom had no place to put your clothes. In the whole place, there was one hook to put your coat when you walked in. There were side tables in the bedroom which had drawers. Both of the side tables had bedding in the drawers. That was all the storage available. There was no luggage 'rack' to put your suitcases on so they had to be left on the floor. As I said, there was no hooks to put clothes on. The first night when I pulled down the covers to go to bed, there was hair, 'fuzzies" possibly from socks and stains from unknown origins. The mattress cover had a blood spot on it. Needless to say, we tore the sheets off and used the spare sheets meant for the sofa bed. Most places we stay give us 4 Keurig pods. This place gave us 1 for 2 people staying for 4 nights.

Celine (8/5): Very good - A very unique accommodation and great location. The cabins were clean while maintaining the unique charm the province is known for. The one thing I’d say was difficult is we couldn’t find the hours for when the main office opened so we could check out. Though checkout is listed as 10am, we were heading out early and could not locate the office hours so I’d definitely recommend the staff have that listed either on the website or in the cabins to accommodate early morning travellers. Our cabin was also missing one of the tv remotes so we couldn’t watch the TV but since we were only there for the night it wasn’t a big deal.

Pam (8/5): Hottub was the best! - Quiet and relaxing. They upgraded us to a hottub pod and it was great! Bed was comfortable just wished it was a kingsize. Had everything we needed. We booked a few nights on our return trip and hope to enjoy the indoor pool and campfire on our way back to St.John’s. The bbq needs a cleaning.

Daphne (4/5): Disappointing - Clean . More suitable for a younger couple. Only 1 burner working on a 2 burner stove ( no oven). The toaster was a metal frame to place on the said single burner…..took more than 10 min to toast on 1 side so by then the eggs were cold. Very cramped space. Only a pub style table with 2 backless stools……not really conducive to seniors. I didn’t understand from the booking that it was a pod. I thought we were renting a cabin. The description in the booking wasn’t really clear.

Stephen (10/5): Awesome Get Away from City Life !! - Our 4th time here and this time it was for 3 days, not two. Drove In Restaurant called E & E Drive-In just 5 mins down the road towards Brigus. Another female and delicious place to eat was The Quay. Prounounced (The Key). Clarks Beach just 6 mins away. Take a right out the gate from the Cottages and drive for 6 to 8 mins and go see the really Awesome and *ALL Welsome* friendly market called *Some Good Market* and inside that market is Stella's Chocolates OMG!!! Amazing Rum and Butter Bars (From Grand Fall's) and Best Kind Bake Shop (Port De Grave) delicious fresh baked cinnamon knots and stuffed cookies are delicious alongside their cupcakes from heaven! Bakery only goes there on satuday. Saturday the Market is full, lineups if you dont get there by 10am when they open. Get there early to get your Carrot Cake Jam and Pineapple Rhubarb Jams from the owner of the market Laurie LeGrow, and they are so delicious!! There will be many more stays here, god willing! Bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get up! So quiet and peaceful at the fire we had each night with the included firepit. Wood was cheap also at just $10 per large bundle. Everything was spotless inside and outside. The only person doing the cleaning is getting both of her knees replaced so we changed our two garbages for her and put it all in the outside main garbage can on the steps and we did a quick sweep through the floors with the broom and dustpan that was hung inside the cottage before we left to clean up any dog hairs that fell from Lilly, our 85lb Ridgeback. We hope those small gestures help her out a little as she was so pleasant to speak with, even if it was a brief chat we had upon our arrival. It's not hard to be kind to strangers, and in this time in our history, kindness for strangers is sadly going scarce. Being kind isn't hard at all.... We just need to let our personal ego and selfishness take a hike. 😉 We had to leave because our time was up and we didn't want to. Lol
Jennifer (7/5): It was okay but could have been better - Nice cottage that suited our needs When booking I was under the impression that I was booking a cottage with a hot tub, so was very disappointed to learn that only two cottages had hot tubs and ours was not one of them. We were happy to learn there was a heated pool but $9 per person seemed a bit much considering the disappointment with lack of hot tub.

Ashley (8/5): Had a wonderful, relaxing weekend with friends! - The large deck and hot tub are amazing. The firepit we didn't get to use this time but looked great. The couches are super comfy. The dryer was so squeaky and loud it was unusable. The bed in the bedroom on the right side is so saggy and uncomfortable that we couldn't sleep and my back flared up the next morning. A king size bed with a better mattress would make a great replacement in that room - we would stay here way more often if that was the case! Some small additions to the kitchen would be nice, for example we didn't have a potato masher. Not necessities but would make a nice addition :)

The cabin was extremely clean and the staff were very friendly! ◡̈ The covered roof over the hot tub could use some fixing as it leaks in when it rains (but it was also really windy the day we stayed so I’m not sure if that had to do with it) The curtains were very see through in the bedroom and the lights over the hot tub wouldn’t turn off at night so the light was constantly shining in making it hard to sleep. The bed was also very hard.
