Guest Reviews
- Carlo (8/5): Although there were a few downsides, we still had a great stay overall. We really enjoyed our time - If you’re looking for a peaceful place away from the noise, this is a highly recommended stay. The free breakfast was delicious, and the beach view is a big plus—it’s just a 1-minute walk to the shore. The staff were also easy to communicate with and very accommodating. The only downside for me was the shower area—in our room, the heater seemed to have an electrical grounding issue. The internet connection was also inconsistent, as some rooms couldn’t get a signal. Additionally, the air conditioning in some rooms didn’t cool properly, especially from midday to the afternoon.
- Erlu (9/5): Good value for money - Beach front. Big rooms. Friendly staff. The beef tapa is the best. Toilet needs improvement

- Maia (6/5): The location was spot on for what we wanted. It was very peaceful and quiet. The beach and sunset view was incredible. T - The location, beach and sunset views as well as bar/restaurant food. The bed was also very comfortable. It was very dated. Everything needs a good upgrade.

- gary (7/5): Ok - Helpful staff The staff could do more to tidy the place up as they are incredibly overstaffed
- zeno (5/5): -
- Mary Andrea (6/5): - Staff is very friendly and helped us in everything we needed.
- Lenny (6/5): - On the beach Very run down. Desperately needs some maintenance
- Fortune (6/5): -
- Dean (7/5): Good view but basic - I had an amazing view of the beach and the staff were very friendly The shower was either boiling or cold and it did not turn off properly so was running for my 3 day stay even after telling them twice.
- Brian (5/5): Not a good value for the money - Location is good, right on the beach. Comfortable bed. Decent breakfast. Good service from staff when we arrived. Property needs some renovation. Very old and run down. Bathroom was disgusting and needs to be renovated. I gave a low score because the room in my option in very old and not well maintained. Not a good value for the money. Classic El Nido, expensive and no maintenance of accommodation. Very disappointing classic Filipino management.
Mnóstwo mrówek i owadów pomimo zamykania drzwi.

- Maica (9/5): Superb -
- Ollier (2/5): Very average - Location Not clean
Wifi barely worked
- Rutger (7/5): Good - The sunset is amazing. Rooms are next to the beach. Breakfast was also delicious. Staff was really helpful and helped us book a scooter. Water refills are free. We were quite late with booking, so we got one of the last rooms. It was next to the main road between El Nido and Puerta Princessa, which was insanely noisy the first night. Luckily the staff was kind and allowed to switch rooms the next day. The new room was not noisy, so we had a good night rest the second night.
Wifi was bad in both rooms. We had to go to the lobby or the bar to have decent but slow connection.
- Ken (9/5): lovely stay in a quiet location - The room we stayed in had amazing views
- Iwan (8/5): Very good -
- Sukhpreet (1/5): Bad -
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Jesse (10/5): Amazing - It has easy tuk tuk rides to el nido beach which is where you should go for the food and bars. The staff was kind and was able to arrange ferry tickets and tours. The free breakfast was very nice but the overall quality of the food could be better. It really didnt matter though, because after breakfast u should head into el nido beach fpr everything else you could want
- Pawło (6/5): For a good budget stay the place is ok - Good location very nice staff Not kept up properly or maintained although the room had a brand new AC unit that was nice and quiet bad door locks and at night some animal ran in the ceiling making scary sounds
- Arnaldo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dewi (9/5): Superb -
- Ericson (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (5/5): Passable -
- Vincenzo (5/5): Passable - Location Cleaning, breakfast
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good - Staff all lovely and helpful
- Chander (1/5): Bad - just staff no wifi not so cleaned
- Patoche (6/5): not worth the price. avoid if you're working remotely - not bad as it's well located but it's really old and not well maintained. old building. feels dirty. rooms are not cozy due to the harsh lightning. wifi and mobile internet very slow. avoid if you plan to work remote. rooms was very noisy even though it wasnt close to the road. (due in part to the flimsy windows). Can't recommend for the price.
- William (9/5): Coron Coron beach area was an awesome location with gr8 sunsets. - The staff answered all my inquiries and helped set up tours as needed. I loved being on the beach and watching the sunset each night. I loved being able to walk down the beach to nice restaurants' each night. I liked my seaview room. The Philippine breakfast was too heavy but I got the American breakfast and it was nice.
- Emma (5/5): Stunning not so stunning - The hotel is in a good location - half way between El Nido town and Vanilla / Las Cabanas beaches. It is also right on the beach where the best sunsets are - and there are plenty of restaurants / bars to visit (the one at the hotel isn’t very inviting and hence we went out each night).
The staff were nice and helpful as has been our experience throughout our whole trip, and the included breakfast was certainly better than others we’ve had. The hotel is tired and needs a lot of work. Our room was spacious but just didn’t feel nice, and it wasn’t especially clean. The pillows smelt awful and were all lumpy I had to ask for them to be changed but the new ones weren’t much better, the white bed linen was dingy.
We’ve stayed in much nicer accommodation for way less money too so just felt really let down by this place. I wouldn’t recommend staying here - I wouldn’t stay here again even if it was free.
Spend way less and get something clean and basic, or spend an extra £50 and get a proper hotel like we wished we had done!
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Louisa (7/5): Good -
- Amir (8/5): Very good -
- Byron (9/5): Superb -
- Anaïs (4/5): Communication and organization to improve - The room, AC, location The organization and communcation between services
The stocks are always empty at the bar
- Rhin (9/5): Stunning republic was awesome. The staff were all extremely hospitable and kind. Breakfast was delicious. AC was cold an -
- Joanna (7/5): Good - We got a free room update to the room with sea view which is 100% worth it with a balcony directly looking out onto the sea and access to the beach. The balcony furniture was a bit outdated (could use some chair cushions or similar) as well as the shower.
There were hammocks by the beach which was wonderful but I felt a bit uneasy with huge coconuts right over my head.
- Tina (8/5): Very good - We got a bigger room upon arrival. Room has a nice sea view. I liked the location, it was calm and away from all the crowds. Bathroom (shower) wasn't properly cleaned.
- Ruisdale (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (6/5): Not as stunning as promished ! - Not as stunning as promished ! Not as stunning as promished !
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Krzysztof (1/5): Not recomment to stay ! - Good breakfast various every day. Room we were allocated to had broken AC. Couldn’t turn off or adjust either so it was too cold . Lights in the room even we turn off they was still blast coming from so it was bright . Water in the toilet after flashing it was very loud. We changed the room the same night so we could sleep. We asked receptionist if they have kayak because I red before they do and she said they don’t have any . I told her you suppose to have one and she rudely answered like “ I’m working here for so long so I know better what we have “ then I showed her the kayak that was on the beach and went speechless . Such an incompetent ,rude and shameless person at this job position I haven’t met in my life . Hotel is old and rooms are falling apart .
- Ingvar (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful sunset bar
Nice and friendly staff
- Justin (10/5): Overnight only but worth it. - On the beach close to restaurants and shops
- Manan (8/5): Overall good. - Great location , lovely sunset from the property.
Easily accessible.
-Breakfast only two option- flippino or international
-food okay but the service provided (by joel,) is marvellous. And every accomodating to your needs
-they provide tour n even bike for rent Breakfast option
Bathroom amenities
No iron or hair dryer
- Carol (8/5): Nice hotel, friendly staff, fabulous views of sea and sunset. Sadly not possible to swim as the sea is too shallow. - Sea views, helpful, friendly staff. Superior room didn’t really feel superior. It was right in front of bar and restaurant so lots of foot traffic in front of terrace, some of the things listed in the room online weren’t there eg safe, kettle. Staff did find me a kettle however.
- Vikram (3/5): Poor -
- Nicolaus (9/5): Great stay! - Very friendly and helpful staff, beds were very comfy. It's right at the beach.
- Steve (10/5): Great stay in El Nido - Fantastic staff and great location, met owners and are lovely people very obliging . Joel is a fantastic young man to have on the staff, nothing is out of the question with any of the staff and rooms are very comfortable Need tea and coffee in room but if you ask they will get for you
- Rosemary (6/5): Nice open property. On the beach . Short distance to Elnido town and mega beach . - Close to the beach . Comfortable bed . Terrace to bedroom . Water available from dispenser in court yard . Hot water in shower Room not cleaned daily . Breakfast very limited and cold . Restaurant not open in evening .
- Lowie (8/5): Very good -
- Engel (8/5): We really enjoyed our 4 night stay here. Right on the beach in a very peacful location. - The website photos of this place did not do it justice. Right on the beach, with bar & restaurant and the most amazing sunsets. We had rooms 5 & 6 and did not realise how many rooms were actually at Stunning Republic over 2 floors. For those with a disability you should take this into consideration when booking. The rooms (sorry forgot to take any photos of room) were of a great size with a small balcony. You could buy water & snacks at reception. It was easy to get transport from out the front to El Nido town or to Marimegmeg Beach. Food service was quite slow
- Ian (8/5): Nice place to stay near El Nido - Location, away from all the noise of the main town, but still plenty of bars/rests.
- Burtea (8/5): Good option for tight budgets! - Good value for money. The bar at night could have a little but more of a vibe
- Wolf (6/5): Pleasant - Very nice team in the lobby and very engaged & helpful
THe location is great also the view on the sea poor Breakfast (too sweet and too fat), don´t take it. First day we came 10 minutes too late- we were told we can breakfast if we extra pay for it :-(
Pure white lights in front of the beach kill the athmosphere
- Miguel (9/5): Good experience - Waterfront Needs facility improvements
- Olympia (8/5): Very good -
- Joselito (4/5): Disappointing -
- Evgeni (9/5): Nice private hotel with a small pretty beach with stunning sunset views - The hotel location is perfect - one of the best possible in El Nido. The hotel has its own small, but clean and comfortable private beach with a few sunbeds and a cocktail bar, and the wi-fi at the beach is also available (the signal at the beach is even stronger and better than in the hotel rooms). Plenty of nice restaurants in the nearby area, and the tuk-tuk to El Nido downtown is only PHP 100. I normally do not take breakfast, so the breakfast topic is not interesting for me. The coffee, however, was not the best one, but for me this is not a big issue.
- Milly (7/5): nice - massages were really nice and comfortable bed noisy as it is right at the main street
- Jacob (1/5): I hesitate to book through booking.com again after the front desk tried to kick us out of our room early - the sunset view We had a fantastic stay in El Nido despite challenges at this hotel and the Booking.com description being inaccurate to the room.
Pros of staying: easy access by tricycle off the main road, beautiful sunset views, free kayak rentals, great and attentive bar and restaurant crew, good but very limited breakfast, air-conditioned rooms with outdoor drying racks for clothes.
Cons of staying: far from town, no hot water, brief loss of power, terrible to no internet, dogs and cats with mange that will put their paws on your lap while you eat, variable quantity of food for breakfast (sometimes 1 egg, sometimes 2), they do not clean your room, front desk will lie to your face over several important issues (see below), (and minor issue) instant packet coffee only.
As for the front desk issues: I at first thought there was a gap in communication, but things kept happening that made it clear they were just negligent and rude. I would like to preface this by saying I've spent over 4 months in the Philippines with no issues communicating even when both individuals don't understand the other's language. This hotel's website is in English and is marketed in English.
The front desk also showed their hand by remembering several details including our van transfer time and date while pretending to not remember several other things they literally wrote down on the same sheet of paper. Most of our communications were with Catherine Apa.
1. They tried to kick us out before the day they told us we were checking out.
We had booked a 3-night stay and tried to add another day online, but were unable to modify our reservation. We booked a 4th night separately and were happy to switch rooms if we had to. The first thing we did on arrival was to ask if we could stay in the same room for all 4 nights. They said OK and scheduled our van transfer to the airport the morning after our 4th night.
- Jacob (2/5): terrible experience that has made me reconsider booking.com in the future - the view of the sunset that’s it. - flea ridden animals
- far from town
- No Hot water
- No or little wifi
- Peter (8/5): Very good - located in the beach close to bars and restaurants. A small pool would have been excellent .
- Dupuis (9/5): We can tell why it’s called the “Stunning” Republic. Absolute beautiful sunset view with a great place to chill and grab - Perfect place to stay to get a comfortable place to stay for a few nights while during the day we explore the beauty El Nido has to offer. Great staff, timely response before the booking. They didn’t make clear that separate from the display of basic breakfast like toast, we could order the full set of breakfast that was included until the final day of stay such as the Filipino breakfast plate. (we stayed 3 days).
- Devendra (8/5): pleasnt stay but need to improve with more amenities - private beach, near ocean, quiet place they do not do housekeeping unless ask, many things missing such as no in room coffee/tea, cups, iron etc.
- Vaclav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ott (8/5): Very good -
- Tyler (8/5): excellent staff very accommodating - good location good view
- Imad (7/5): Good -
- Danny (5/5): Passable -
- Victoria (5/5): Passable -
- Mary (6/5): We stayed one night and it was more than enough. - The location was perfect for watching the sunset. Breakfast was surprisingly good specially the pancakes. Staff were very friendly and assisted us with our luggages. The bathroom had a bad stench, air conditioning dial were broken, power sockets didn’t work and had lots of mosquito bites after waking up in the morning.
- Amalia (8/5): will come back - great location for sunsets no furniture to place unpacked clothes
- Igor (4/5): Disappointing - Right at the beach. Location is not bad Outdated. Bathroom is horrible. The room was never cleaned even after asking reception. So overpriced.
- Mayline (10/5): Tranquil place - Clean, comfortable room. Room even has a sofa bed. The view of sunset. The breath of fresh air, this place has a fresh and tranquil vibe. Even the sea looks tranquil in this side of town :) Although the serving time for food is a bit long but the food is good. The staff are friendly and respectful.
No hair dryer available. And the shower curtain is too short, they should get a longer one, so the other side of the bathroom does not get wet :) If you want to try other restaurants they're a bit far from this place.
- Celina (10/5): Exceptional - We love it, is a nice place and wonderful service
