Guest Reviews
- Carter (7/5): Comfortable , affordable and roomy - Location was fine with breakfast cafes nearby The stairs - 2 flights
- Durmisheva (7/5): Добро място за отсядане. - голям апартамент с всичко необходимо Нямаше лампа в банята
- Kim (1/5): Would not book or stay again! Can only put on 4 photos but can send more if wanted - Location Prior to arrival, the host was not aware that we had a confirmed booking. I spoke with the host by phone approximately 20 minutes before our arrival, during which she confirmed she had not checked the booking and was unprepared for our stay. We were not provided with any instructions on how to access the property, which caused unnecessary stress and uncertainty.
Upon arrival, the communal hallway and stairs leading to the apartment had a strong and unpleasant smell. Inside the apartment, it was extremely cold and had a strong smell of damp throughout. The beds themselves also smelt of damp, making them uncomfortable and unhygienic.
There were widespread hygiene, safety, and maintenance failures throughout the property. The shower seals were visibly affected by mould, and the oven had not been cleaned, with old food debris left inside. There was no extractor fan in the kitchen, raising concerns about safe ventilation when cooking.
Of serious concern was the lack of a clear or adequate fire escape. No fire escape instructions were provided, and no clearly marked or accessible emergency exit was visible.
The overall state of the property was extremely poor. Paint was visibly crumbling and peeling from the walls, tissue had been stuffed into an old window, and there were clear signs that mould had been wiped from the walls rather than properly treated and repainted. These visible attempts to conceal damage further highlight the level of neglect and misrepresentation of the accommodation.
All of these issues were present immediately upon arrival and are not minor inconveniences. Taken together, they demonstrate that the property was not prepared for guests, failed to meet basic hygiene and safety standards.
- Barbara (6/5): Many positives apart from shortfalls mentioned. Close proximity to Liverpool and the Wirral - Three bedroom property, convenient on street parking, easy access to public transport Heating had not been switched on ahead of our arrival. No heating in small single bedroom consequently cold throughout night.
Children running around in upstairs apartment
- Donna (10/5): Relaxing - By beach lovely apartmenrs
- Paige (8/5): -
- Hadley (6/5): Good location, good value. - The apartment itself was clean, comfortable. Getting suitcases and belongings up the stairs was a pain. The smell of the entrance and stairs was horrible. Very cold apartment even with heating on.
- Lava Chaitanya (1/5): - Property is painted and maintained cleaned All over the property building smells stink and tobbaco and finally that smoke in to that flat as well I don’t suggest this to families
- Ian (6/5): Parking a slight problem and entrance off putting but apartment met our needs for a 2 night stay. - Excellent location but entrance yard and shared entrance a bit off putting. Once in the apartment all was acceptable. Great location
- Stacey (6/5): - Was a lovely size comfy bed Major serious note the staircase at the very top wasn't connected to anything. My husband noticed this. Sorry but this is a major health and safety issue that needs attention immediately.
Too many stairs I'm on crutches and didn't realise it was on the top floor.
Needs some work
- Julie (5/5): It would have been nice to have had some long life milk. - Location was good. I emailed the host friday morning but didn't receive a reply. I had to phone the host Saturday morning to get an answer to my email which she didn't really seem interested, i also had to ask them to email the code to get into the property which should have been sent that morning.
- Mutsawashe (6/5): Was not happy with the communication on how to get key.Miscommunication on the details on the apartment number and locat - Comfortable Access to the apartment
- Chris (1/5): It’s put me off booking.com as the pictures are not representative of the accommodation. - Not much if anything. Worst place I’ve ever stayed. Where do I start? I’m going to make a formal complaint. This place is of very poor standard and not cheap.
- Andreas (9/5): -
- Roisin (8/5): -
- Alan (7/5): Ok for the short time we needed it but won’t be returning. - Modern and spacious. Comfortable beds. Stains on settee. Towels provided were old and stained. Patchy plaster on walls. No vanity unit in bedroom. No shelves in bathroom for toiletries. Black mold on sealant in shower.
- Joshua (8/5): -
- Jenny (10/5): -
- Marcus (7/5): -
- Janella (6/5): - Loved the location, we walked on the beach every day.
Train into Liverpool.
Crosby is very nice It is in need of some TLC.
The deco is dated.
The curtains need to be thicker to keep the light out.
The apartment needs airing prior to guests arriving as it smelt musty for the first day
- Aline (7/5): Helpful hostess and comfortable stay - Very helpful owner! Accommodations comfortable for a one night stay and facilities good. Nice place to eat nearby. Building looked very scruffy from the outside
One white towel was marked brown - may just have been a rust mark but not appealing!
Would have been nice to have been supplied with more than one coffee pod as we weren’t going to buy a pack for a one night stay!
- Alice (4/5): We have stayed in multiple Booking.com properties throughout the UK and, unfortunately, this was our most disappointing - Great location, easy to access local attractions. Front door: Extremely difficult to unlock — we often struggled to get in.
Main bedroom: King-size bed sags heavily in the middle and is very uncomfortable. We ended up sleeping in the smaller double bed instead.
Bins: The rubbish bins for the apartments are directly outside the window of the double bedroom we used, which was noisy and unpleasant.
Ventilation: Windows could not be opened, making it difficult to get fresh air.
Bathroom: Shower temperature hard to control, base very slippery. Previous guests’ toiletries were left behind — installing permanent body wash and shampoo/conditioner dispensers would be more hygienic.
Supplies: Only 2.5 toilet rolls and 4 towels provided for a 5-night stay, which felt insufficient.
Layout & Facilities: Building is a converted bank — the third single bedroom is the old vault, which felt dark and unwelcoming. No clothes drying facilities provided (no airer or clothesline).
Value: The combination of traffic noise, uncomfortable bed, tired interior, and lack of amenities made the property feel overpriced.
- Renick (7/5): We stayed for 1 night to go to a family party we were able to check in a little earlier than the contracted 3pm beds wer - Beds were really comfortable Paint peeling from walls
- John (5/5): Central location and basic accommodation. - Location was good, though on a busy road. Water pressure in top apartment meant couldn’t have a shower.
Was all a bit run down.
Lots of stairs to upstairs apartment.
Awkward downstairs key to door.

- Abdirisaq (10/5): I had a fantastic stay near Crosby Beach. clean, comfortable, perfect location, and I’ll definitely be booking the same - I really enjoyed my stay at the apartment near Crosby Beach. The location was perfect just a short walk to the beach, which made for some relaxing mornings and beautiful sunsets. The apartment itself was clean, modern, and well equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the cozy living space and peaceful surroundings. It was a great place to unwind and felt like a true home away from home.
- Alan (7/5): A pleasant stay in comfortable surroundings. - Convenient location to Crosby beach and places for food. A very comfortable apartment with room to relax. Comfortable beds. Street parking nearby with no restrictions. The stairs !! Very steep with no handrails in places. There was limited cutlery and crockery for 3 people to stay. It was quite a long way from the bedrooms to the bathroom at night.
- Neil (6/5): Pleasant -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohammed (3/5): Poor -
- Heather (1/5): Not good. - Comfortable bed Arrived and got told that the cleaner was still there after 3pm, was told to come back later.
Apartment was way too hot so had to go out and purchase a fan.
None of the windows would open so had to prop them open with things around the apartment.
Tap in the kitchen was hanging off the sink.
There was no toilet roll so had to go out and purchase some.
Would not stay there again.
- Francis (8/5): Very good -
- Orlando (7/5): Good but no hot shower - Clean No hot water
- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely stay - Comfortable Location
- Claire (3/5): Disappointing Stay – Fell Below Expectations - Location within walking distance to attend a venue nearby. Able to acquire an adequate parking space. Unfortunately, our stay at this property was far below expectations based on the photos and description advertised. The apartment had significant cleanliness and maintenance issues that raised concerns about both comfort and safety.
*Cleanliness & Hygiene:
The apartment had a persistent foul smell, particularly strong in the kitchen area.
The kitchen was not fit for purpose: the fridge was rusty on the outside and unclean inside, cupboards were dirty and contained out-of items.
The bathroom was unhygienic, with an old cleaning cloth left by the sink and hairs in the shower tray.
Towels were insufficient for the number of guests; one towel had visible brown stains.
The large bedroom’s bed sheet had a red stain, and the single room had a dirty side table.
*Safety Concerns:
The single room’s sliding door was not on its hinges properly, causing a guest to get stuck inside and require assistance to exit.
The smoke alarm in the corridor was hanging off the ceiling, posing a serious safety issue.
*Amenities & Maintenance:
The single room lacked any provision to hang clothing, despite having space to accommodate a wardrobe or hanging rail.
The rug and glass tables in the lounge were visibly dirty.
The front door was extremely stiff and difficult to open with the key.
*Other Issues:
Guest information was scattered and poorly presented. A laminated guide or welcome pack would have been much more professional.
The overall décor was outdated and tired. With some investment, this property has the potential to be greatly improved.
Noise from neighbours upstairs was a nuisance during the early part of the evening, though it thankfully subsided later.
Summary:
We were disappointed with our stay and felt misled by the online presentation of the property. Cleanliness and safety standards were well below acceptable levels, and several improvements are needed as a matter of priority.
- Helen (1/5): Avoid Avoid Avoid - very unpleasant - Absolutely nothing, except the experience of departing. The photos present a lovely smart flat, in reality the property is old, very, very smelly and grubby. It has major electrical issues, sockets and switches don't work and lamps flicker. The cleaning team appear to do nothing except provide very worn and dirty linen and towels. There is a guest book which has a number of equally unhappy previous bookings with the same issues appearing and no resolutions.
I booked a 3 bedroom flat but one of the rooms was locked, the single bed sits inside a windowless cubby hole without a door and the bed is only fit for a child if you are happy to put your child in a bed with dirty linen. Despite no smoking signs the living area has a strong odour of smoke, which caused me to have an asthma attack in the night. If I had arrived earlier I would have found somewhere else to stay. Bear in mind when you view the photos online that all isn't as it seems.
- Jacqueline (7/5): Good - comfortable
adequate comfy seati g for everyone litchen equipment needs updating as does fridge, which could do with small freezer compartment
laminated folderneeded with instru tions especially for microwave usage of which is hit and miss
- Sreelekshmi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hollamby (9/5): Superb - Great location for us, rooms nice and big. Lovely restaurant opposite "Seasays" The kitchen had a funny smell
- Annabel (6/5): Cheap, comfortable and close to the beach! - Well furnished, comfortable beds and sofa, good amount of space, working kitchen, walkable location to the sandy beach. Pricilia was very responsive. The fridge was mouldy and the place had not been hoovered on arrival. Some of the lights didn't have bulbs. Smaller bedroom door is a sliding door, so does not close well. The shower was boiling hot or freezing cold. Parking was street parking and difficult to find somewhere easy to park. No refund for cleaning fee.
- Liz (3/5): It provided us with somewhere to stay en route, and the Gormley statues were close by - Location, noisy road.
- Jo (7/5): A convenient stay. Thank you. - Warm, clean and comfortable. Central heating, washing machine and kitchen facilities. Had to follow-up to obtain key codes as not received. Front door lock difficult to operate and could be replaced. Bins located directly outside main bedroom (on ground floor unit) were overflowing and disturbed by dogs during the night. Not sure if bins belong to property units, but their location needs to be reconsidered (met next door neighbour was cleaning-up street next morning).
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katy (8/5): Great apartment, fully equipped, close to all amenities - We loved that the apartment had everything we needed for our stay, we were heading to the grand national so appreciated having plenty of space and an iron/ ironing board .
- Guy (1/5): Bad -
- The3ofus (8/5): Very good - Ideal location for our needs. Local shops close by. Used a place across the road for a good English breakfast.
- Shawn (5/5): Passable - I liked the 3 bedrooms, smart tv for the kids. Hot shower. Mother in law ended up sleeping on the sofa as the matress in single room had springs poking through, 2nd double room had a faulty handle on the door that need replacing. I was not comfortable closingvthe door for fear of the children getting trapped inside. The property needs a really good tradesman to go in and tidy up all the alterations that have been done. Cables run properly, more sockets added rather than use multiple extention leads. Noise from the street was loud, passing cars felt like they were inside the property as single glazed.
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (7/5): Comfortable and cosy apartment - Close to the Metro station and beach.
The apartment was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The yard area where you enter the apartment is a bit scruffy, but looked like a shared area.
- Jamie (7/5): Good -
- Kelly (8/5): Friends one nighter. - Great value for what we needed. Very spacious. Great proximity to the beach. Spotless bedding with good duvet and pillows. Could do with a bit more detail to the cleaning and the beds looking at..... massive dip in middle of the Kingsize, lumpy double apparently.
- Roderick (1/5): Bad - Nothing Had not been cleaned prior to arrival beds not changed mattresses poor quality l. Smoke alarms not functioning - dangerous wiring from TV
Soiled Toilets not cleaned
..Did not stay and had to find alternative accommodation
Complained to owner and Booking .com and agreed on full refund
- Philippa (8/5): Perfect location, clean and comfortable. - Location, comfortable beds especially the pillows. Clean. Staircase to first floor would benefit from a handrail
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Rach (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (9/5): Blundellsands- great location & comfortable apt. - Travelling as a family, 3 bedrooms was a great find. The apartment had everything we needed - a real home from home. It was warm and comfortable.
Close to train station. Great places to eat on College Rd. Had a great night out in South Rd, Waterloo. Iron Men (Antony Gormley statues) walkable from apt. Front door needs a bit of a knack to open it - did text to warn me. Once you know, you're fine.
Heating instructions a bit faded, but just needed common sense.
- Rebecca (8/5): Perfect for our needs - Excellent communication when we booked at very short notice, the property was as described and easy to access. We had no issues parking on the road next to the property and the apartment was perfect for our needs while my dad was in hospital nearby. A freezer compartment in the fridge would be useful.
- Rach (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (4/5): Its cheap for a reason - The beds were really comfy and the communication with the host was good. Living room/ kitchen were nicely decorated. Location was good only 20 minutes to get into Liverpool City Center. The whole apartment would do with doing up. There were a lot marks on the wall, bits of plaster falling off and a massive damp patch in one of the bedrooms. When we came into the property there was a horrible stench of cigarette smoke, usure if this was from previous use of the property or from outside. The single glazed windows also didn't help this and it was also very noisy. The living room area was nice but when we sat down to watch the TV the batteries in the remote were basically melted so couldn't be used. The bathroom was a good size but again not the cleanest and also had a broken mug left on the flood.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfy
- Jamie (7/5): Good -
- Tina (7/5): Well located. - Good location for the beach and other amenities. Room is on second floor with narrow staircase making access with cases difficult. External entrance area is very shabby. Kitchen very poorly stocked, only two mugs and 1 wine glass.
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fowler (8/5): very central to our needs very comfortable and clean - had everything you need for a 3 night break hairdryer iron etc comphy beds 🛏 very good communication by host would definitely use again nothing all good
- Linda (8/5): Great communication from host as always and the flat has all that you need. - Well organised and well located
- Peter (7/5): Warm comfortable & welcoming. - It was warm, comfortable and within walking distance of family.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (3/5): Great location but poor cleanliness and no smoke alarms- unsafe do not recommend. - The location is really good- close to the beach and train station. Ideal location for us who live locally and were staying whilst work was completed on our home. On entering the property there was a very strong and overwhelming smell of smoke. This was also in the bedrooms. When looking at the guest book, this seems to be a repeat issue despite it been no smoking. Our clothing and belongings have been left smelling of smoke, that's how strong it was.
The finish to the apartment and cleanliness was not good. There were dirty oven trays and used toiletries and a washcloth in the shower. The beds were uncomfortable- in the master room the mattress dipped in the middle causing you to roll into the middle of the bed. There are a number of gaps and holes which would make it easy for rodents to enter.
The apartment is very noisy, the windows are single glazing and it is on a busy road. People would cough walking past and it sounded like they were sat next to you!
The most concerning thing for us was that the smoke alarm had clearly been bashed to stop it going off by a previous guest, and it looked broken. There was no other smoke alarms. I messaged the host twice to ask about this- it felt unsafe and my messages were ignored. I would not recommend staying here- there are other local apartments that are much better. Do not be fooled by the photos the apartment is not as it seems.
- Bianca (3/5): Disappointed - The location was fine The kitchen was completely dirty and the apartment smelled to cigarettes
- Alisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (7/5): Great location for the beach and near our friends so worked for us. Ideally try and arrive on daylight as quite dark on - Location
Nice bedding The boiler had lost pressure
So took awhile to reboot
Bit of a faff but got it going
Was too hot when heating on so check thermostat
- Lynn (9/5): Great stay, cosy & comfortable -
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Clare (9/5): Over night stay - Great instructions as quite difficult to find.
Apartment was really lovely.
Very comfortable bed. Though on street parking was available it was very busy and hard to find a space.
Didn't have any hot water (realised eventually it was because boiler was un plugged)
- David (7/5): Good value for money - Smell of smoke in the apartment
The beds
- Ciara (7/5): Good - location was great for us. short walk to the train station and not far from the beach. tv had no channels to watch.
was a bit dated and tired.
- Robert (3/5): Won't be staying here again - Clean
Wi Fi good Smell of weed on the stairs.
Fridge door wouldn't close iced up freezer.
Cooker dirty.
Bed in small bedroom broken, piece of wood under mattress. Very uncomfortable didn't sleep at all.
- Gillian (7/5): Good -
- Alan (8/5): Very good - Nice location in Crosby, Short walk to the beach and easy drive onto Liverpool centre Might be better if the 2nd bedroom was a twin rather than two doubles.
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Charlotte (5/5): Comfortable stay but a few things not quite right in the apartment, ok for one night but wouldn’t stay for any longer - The apartment was in a great location for accessing restaurants/bars and the beach There was a lot of noise from traffic because of the apartment being on a main road. Also noisy because of neighbours in upstairs apartment.
Photos on booking.com made the apartment look in a much better condition than it was.
Told at time of arriving that the TV remote control didn’t work therefore didn’t have a TV we could use during our visit which was disappointing.
- Robert (9/5): Well needed break at a nice location. - good location for gormley statues and easy transport to liverpool by either bus or metro. good place with plenty of space. no issues with any part of the stay at the flats.
- Mizkez (9/5): Superb -
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Allegra (9/5): Superb - Nice apartment. Great for a night staying over with friends. :)
- Artur.heise (9/5): Superb - Home away from home- nice and cosy. Only one large coffee mug (and a couple of small ones), only two forks in the drawer- but that's a very minor details.
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jade (6/5): Ok for a base - Beds were comfy Some broken things could just be removed like the coffee table, the back door isn’t great and maybe some of the pin boards and drawings on the wall could be removed. Glad we didn’t need the third bedroom as it had no window and was a bit of a large cupboard vibe.
- Joseph (8/5): Perfect for what we needed and the early check in was a real bonus - Location great, the 2 double beds comfortable .
We were only there to get changed go out and sleep, so it was ideal for our purposes.
Pricilla let us check in an hour early which was sound, her communication was great. The single bed wasn’t comfortable and as that room had no windows it was really warm, although not a deal breaker.
- Charlotte (5/5): Better communication needed - Handy location for my needs. One of rooms was damp. It was a little cold and crockery dirty. The host needs to sort out the checking in instructions. These were unclear and directed us to the house on other side of street. Woke up the resident who was upset and angry as this has happened before with randoms trying to enter his house. This was unsettling experience.
- Debra (8/5): Very good - Good communication from owner.
Great location, not far from Liverpool and the beach is 5 minute drive away. The single bed was in a room without windows and the mattress springs were coming through. The other beds were very comfey.
- Phil (8/5): Easy to find, large multiple bedrooms, comfy couch and netflix .. everything you need. - Ive stayed before, the location is excellent, very easy to find, quite close to a metro station and the bus stop is right outside too ... Door is a little fiddly but once you read the instructions from the host you can open fairly easy .. Beds were very comfortable, Kitchen was well stocked, no milk in the fridge but thats a small thing, plenty of shops in the area and packet coffee in the cupboard. Once the heating has been on it gets nice and warm in the property, especially overnight so go a little easy on the temperature or youll be sticking your leg out all night like me XD .. no complaints at all. Shower attachment is a little loose so its tricky to angle the water just right but thats nothing really, honestly i cant really complain about any of it.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ludek (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable apartment with a pleasant atmosphere.
- Jenny (7/5): Good -
- Karen (1/5): This place is a dump - Near to beach
Close to train station Appartment was not the appartment that was advertised
Third bedroom was not a room....no window or radiator
TV was dodgy
Huge gap under front door
Dodgy electric ...wires all over the place
Broken toilet seat
Stale complimentary crisps( 3 months out of date)
Used male toilteries in bathroom including a razor
Used food in kitchen and filthy cloths
Tumble dryer in living room
Hot water did not work...unclear instructions
Noisy neighbours
Noisy sleep due to no double glazing
Smashed table ...masking taped up
Filthy rug
Massive pile of other peoples letters
- Pascual (6/5): It was fine for one night. - The code I first received by email was wrong so I had to contact the landlord. The heater didn't work . There was no hot water, only in the shower.
