Guest Reviews
- Dario (9/5): -
- Anita (8/5): Well appointed historic apartment. - Character filled property in a convenient location. Access from the bedrooms downstairs to the bathrooms could be a problem for some. Tall people need to take care of the low clearances in this historic building.
- Michele (10/5): Short but great stay at this large 15th century property full of antiques! Clean and comfortable beds as well. - Loved this 15th century property full of interesting antiques. It is large and the beds are comfortable. It’s like going back in history staying here. Hosts were responsive and it was very clean. Really enjoyed this place. Nothing

Casa molto grande e spaziosa.comunicazione veloce. Prezzo buono per una notte in gruppo. Pulizia non ottimale. Eravamo 6 persone ci hanno lasciato solo 3 paia di ciabattine.
- Claire (9/5): - Lovely, spacious well equipped apartment. Immaculate. Very convenient for the Via Francigena and close to the centre of town - bars and restaurants. Good communication from Romano. Noisy neighbours late at night, had to keep bedroom window closed.
- Paul (10/5): An oasis of comfort and charm. - Perfect location as you arrive in Aquapendente when walking the via francigena. Located in the narrow streets, which feel a little intimadating, the house is an oasis of comfort, calm and charm. On two levels, the rooms are large and well appointed with comfy beds. Bathrooms and kitchen all well appointed. Good choice of restaurants. Osteria 38 near the Monastery (its location on Apple maps is wrong) has great views over the valley and Il Borgo near the town square is great value.
- Giovanni (10/5): - Casa antica
- Gregorio Antonio (9/5): -
- Fabio (9/5): - Casa di altri tempi
- Luca (7/5): -
- Juan Jose (10/5): Old quaint feeling property with all modern features - Property is beautiful, well kept and clean walking distance to everything in the town

- Jo (10/5): Great for those walking the Via Francignea - Well equipped kitchen, lovely newly appointed bathrooms and really comfortable beds with cosy bedding. We really enjoyed our stay, in this quiet location close to shops and restaurants. This accommodation is very convenient for those walking the Via Francignea.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Well located when walking the Francigena, close to the centre, typical traditional Italian property which was larger than you think. Loads of history. Nothing in particular.
- Marcia (10/5): A great stop along the Via Franscigena! - Location and character of house.
Clothes line and washer.
2 bathrooms. Everyone had a bed! Narrow streets. Need to park offsite. But so cool.
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, cute small apartment. Convenient to restaurants and services.

- De (10/5): Exceptional - The location, space, style and how it was equipped. The host put out two litres of bottled water...a nice gesture! Nothing.
- Sablin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Red (10/5): Exceptional - I have stayed here at the Maldalchini House and always it is a great pleasure. I adore the hosts and everything about this charming little home. Great location in the center of Acquapendente, a short walk to the piazza and a gelato, the bank, or shopping. Will always return! there is nothing I didn't like.
- Leslie (9/5): Superb - Good location. Clean and comfortable. Good communication from hosts. Was quite large. While we didn’t really use it, a charming kitchen. Also has a washing machine. It was fine for us, but lots of steps in this unique old home so might not be for everyone. Also think they could provide some more toiletries like soap. Was a bit disappointed that I could not get the bathtub to hold water. It would have been nice after many days of hiking.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jbunland (10/5): Great, memorable stay on Via Francigena. Unique property. Excellent kitchen. - Great communication. Great location. Amazing kitchen with unique and beautiful sink. It is a beautiful older home. Comfortable and warm on a mid-March visit. Unique fixtures and paintings. Note that there are several stairs to navigate as you go from room to room. No problem for us; however, it could be challenging for people of poor fitness or mobility.
- Aleksandra (10/5): Perfect blend of history, comfort, and warm hospitality. - We had the pleasure of staying in this charming house during our journey from Rome to Siena and Florence, and it truly made our trip unforgettable. Situated on the border with Tuscany in the small historic town of Aquapendente, the house offers a perfect blend of comfort and history.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the unique atmosphere that combines antique charm and history with modern conveniences. The house is very well equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Despite being a group of 8 people, the internet connection worked flawlessly, allowing us to stay connected and share our wonderful experiences.
The warmth and hospitality of the hosts added to the magic of our stay. They greeted us with genuine warmth, leaving us a selection of coffee, tea, milk, juices, and biscuits to enjoy during our stay. It was a lovely gesture that made us feel truly welcomed. In addition to the warm hospitality the hosts provided parking space for our large van. This gesture made our stay even more convenient and comfortable.
With two bathrooms available, we had ample space and convenience for our group. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes and immersed in the rich history of Aquapendente, it was truly a night to remember.
We also loved taking the scenic route to Siena instead of the highway. The landscapes were straight out of a Tuscan postcard, with charming houses and beautiful trees, just like in the movie "Gladiator"
We are grateful for the opportunity to experience such a delightful stay, and we recommend this house to anyone seeking a memorable and authentic experience.
- Terry (9/5): Superb - This delightful and large historic home is on the Via Francigena has 3 double beds, 2 baths and a washer and is great for pilgrims. Hostess was welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

- Stuart (10/5): A super apartment. Highly recommended. - Lovely old traditional house. Very central and near to bars and restaurants. Well equipped kitchen.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent welcome and explanation re: history of the home. Nothing.
- Jimawalker (8/5): Very pleasant and comfortable. - A quaint little renovation with lots of low ceilings and nooks and crannies. Lovely bathrooms and kitchen. Great to have access to washing machine to do clothes. Bumped my head several times on low timber ceiling in a couple of the doorways.
- Joanna (10/5): Lovely stay in the historic centre - Gorgeous home - in the historic district. Beautifully appointed and decorated. Cosy and warm. Nothing
- Thai (9/5): Stopover along the Via Francgina - Spacious large layout Poor breakfast offerings
