Guest Reviews
- Staurt (1/5): Very disappointing which spoilt our short get away and too expensive for what was offered. - The location is very close to the town centre. We were very disappointed with our short stay. The cottage was not as we expected, much smaller. We had trouble finding the cottage as it is not on an accessible road. Once we did find it parking the car was an issue and had to be moved a few times while unloading. The stairs in the cottage are very steep and difficult for older people to manage. We had trouble getting the heating to work and the hot water seemed to have a mind of its own. We found the shower almost impossible to use and the bathroom very small for any comfort.
Lastly on arrival to cottage smelt damp. We were so disappointed we moved out on the second day to the Red Lion Hotel which was more comfortable and cost less.
- Anthony (7/5): Enjoyed our week, cottage clean, location great, spare bed too small - Location was perfect to walk to the beach, shops etc The spare bedroom, bed was too short for our 14 year old to sleep in, purchased a mattress for him to sleep on the floor in the lounge.
- Angela (5/5): -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Very near a supermarket very handy š The single bed too short couldn't stretch my legs out
- Havron (10/5): Excellent accommodation - Everything you could need was provided. Excellent location
- Therese (10/5): Lovely stay in this pet friendly cozy cottage a stones throw from Cromer beach. We loved it - Perfect for our needs for the week Parking was the only slight issue
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (7/5): Good - Lovely property and garden, great location close to town Single bed too short for an adult. Toilet/shower room very small and difficult for older guests to negotiate. Bathmat and living room rug both slippy, rug curling in one corner which was a trip hazard. Floors downstairs weren't that clean, a lot of dog hair and smell.
- C (8/5): Very good - Private with comfortable bed Lacked a freezer compartment.
Parking was awkward.
- Barrie (10/5): Exceptional - Everythingp
- Richard (8/5): Really enjoyed staying here - The location was great - quiet (usually - except when jets are training overhead!) and secluded, but also very near to station, car park, supermarket, town and beach.
The garden was lovely to sit in when sunny. The row of cottages is charming and full of historical interest. It was very cold when we arrived and the instructions on how to operate the heaters were not very clear or detailed. I appreciate the owners don't want guests messing with the timer etc but the best way to avoid that is to provide clear full instructions (not just 'you can turn it up'!).
Booking.com highlights 'free parking' as a feature of the property but this is misleading. There is no parking space for the cottage - the front door is in a shared yard which can't be accessed by vehicle, and it is mostly double-yellow lines in all nearby streets. You would be very lucky to find a free space on the street and if you did you would be taking it away from local residents. This is not a big problem because the council car park is just round the corner and is absolutely fine - but guests with cars need to factor in about £6 a day extra costs for parking.
The other minor issue was with the rug on the wooden floor in the backroom - it slid easily and we had a couple of near-misses skidding on it.
- Helena (9/5): Superb - excellent location and lovely cottage. The sofas while adequate are past their best. Could do with upgrading.
The cooker worked but is very old and the oven very noisy.
- Mandy (9/5): Great winter weekend break away - Location great for exploring and close to town, everything within walking distance
Cottage great for us and 2 dogs Arriving in dark, property not easy to locate with postcode given. No parking nearby, public car park additional cost to stay
- Paul (9/5): Very enjoyable. Cromer is a lovely place. - Itās location. Had a modern feel. Nice garden for dogs. No parking but thereās nothing that can be done about that. There is nearby street parking but you need to be patient to get it.
- Miriam (7/5): Acceptable though really only suitable for a couple witna SMALL child - Good location. Nice ambiance. Plenty of crockery etc. styling appropriate. The utilities on the shed were good and the property was very clean except for the garden. The single bed was really rather short which meant my 13 year old granddaughter was not comfortable. This is a major fault and the small size of the bed and room needs to be flagged up. My son had to buy a sharp knife to make food preparation functional. The garden wasnāt swept or weeded. Not good this.
