Guest Reviews
- ΜΟΥΤΑΦΙΔΗΣ (10/5): -
Self check in/out.
- Melodykp99 (9/5): Worth it for the price - The parking was very convenient. The room had no window and the humidifier was on all night.
- Charisma Ibangga (10/5): - I like the thoughtfulness of the hosts preparing this space for their guests. The space has every basic needs, and they went beyond that, with other things available like a first aid kit for instance, or ice cube trays. I also like that the room is clean, the toilet is mold-free. Nothing really.

- belen (7/5): -
- Peter (7/5): - Great value. Comfortable bed, good shower. Quiet. No bedside table and there was a feel of a building site as you entered the room. .The approach to the room is not welcoming.
- Abigail (10/5): -
- tim (9/5): - The room is in a very good location with a convienant parking option directly outside. It is very well organised and supplied with plenty of room service tea, coffee & snack options and bathroom soaps and washing essentials needed for a comfortable stay over the. Nothing to dislike.
- Kleopatra (7/5): -
- Gaetano (8/5): -

I recommend it.
- William (9/5): Perfect -
- Robert (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Michael (7/5): - It is exactly as advertised - good location, clean, and picking up keys was easy. Very basic, no windows
- irem nurşah (1/5): - The room was so damp that all the furniture felt wet, and it was freezing cold because the heater wasn't working. To make matters worse, they tried to open my door twice during the night. It was a nightmare of an experience.
- Aqeef (6/5): It was not too bad - Location was okay but there were no breakfast and no WiFi connection WiFi connection could be better
- Elaine (10/5): Great nights sleep great location and easy walk from Utilita arena - Lovely little room perfect for what we needed The noisy bathroom door

- Rafay (6/5): -
- Roxanne (5/5): - Location was good. Smell, layout and poor cleaning method
- Denise (1/5): Damp room with mould and mouldy odours .. worst place I have ever stayed ! - Nothing We were in a basement room with mould and the odour of mould. Damp awful room that I don’t think should be used for people to stay in. Was the worse 3 nights ever!
- Emma Cleevely (8/5): Overall ok for what we needed - Communication excellent throughout.
Excellent value for money
Tea coffee, biscuits, long life pan au chocolates.
Was perfect for what we needed centre of Jewelry quarter 15 mins walk to utility arena .
Good pubs and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended the church! Would have preferred bottled water rather than jugs of water in the fridge but im fussy.
- Justin (8/5): - Nice and clean, great staff. N/A
- Paige (8/5): It was perfect for what we needed it for. Thankyou for your hospitality - Good location, comfy bed and good facilities. Everything we needed Loud squeaky bathroom door
- Fabiane (7/5): - The location is amazing, the room was very well organised, with coffee, tea, biscuits. Easy and clear check-in and check out instructions. Everything was so nice, but please, change the mattress, I could feel the springs in my whole body and it was very hard to sleep 😞
- Joana (8/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Steve (9/5): - Ideal location, spotlessly clean and good facilities All good considering what we paid
- Mark (10/5): -
- Didders (6/5): -
- David (7/5): - I loved the location in the Jewellery Quarter I didn't like the absence of any natural light and the slight smell of damp or something.
- Ceri (8/5): - The room was small but clean and the bed was very comfortable. There were good amenities and the owner had provided everything we needed!
- Kostiantyn (9/5): Nice accomodation - Cute, nicely decorated and yet affordable room in a good location. Tea, coffee etc. Clear check in instructions, easy communication. The air in the room is a bit heavy.
- Rich (10/5): Would recommend - Lovely little flat with everything you could possibly need. N/a
- Caroline (5/5): Homestay - Close to walk to shops
Easy to park nearby
Clear instructions on how to enter the property.
Nice touch of free toiletries, tea coffee, biscuits
Hot shower Quite a small space to walk round, bed not comfortable, pillows too hard, could have done with plates and a teatowel to wipe any cutlery etc
Musty smell around the room despite air freshener unit in bathroom .
Would have liked more air in room as stuffy. Had to use fan to cool the room down, window covered up.
All in all good value for the money paid .
- Loes (7/5): - Good and friendly communication. The self-check-in was a bit complicated (probably for safety reasons), but it was very clearly explained in a manual with step-by-step pictures that was sent to me via the booking.com platform.
Complimentary breakfast provided was lovely.
Clever use of such a small space. We kept being pleasantly surprised by some decorations we found or little practical solutions.
We actually felt the subterranean space was pretty cozy, so we slept well.
Location was excellent, everything we needed was close by.
Good value for money. The room is VERY tiny, you don't have a lot of room for your stuff, and it's in a basement without windows - but this is all clearly communicated in the description on booking.com, so it doesn't seem very fair to mention it as a negative point. If you choose this accommodation, you know what you're gonna get.
Because the place has no windows, you would expect it to be completely dark in the morning - but there was some sort of window-ish thing with a curtain in front of it that light shone through. Maybe a former window to another room? So light sleepers should still take their eye mask if they want to sleep in...

- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Duncan (1/5): So bad I didn’t stay there. - Nothing Everything I didn’t stay overnight sorry I don’t want to write a bad review maybe I should have check about basement and no window. I stayed somewhere the night before it was cheaper and much nicer.
- Karen (8/5): Everything we could have wanted - Lovely little room with ensuite. Lots of little extras - everything we could have wanted or needed. N/A
- Elizabeth (9/5): Awesome little gem - What an amazing little self contained flatlet. Everything you need for a food night sleep and refresh in the morning.
Excellent communication from the owner 😃 Nothing really, it had everything you could need.
- Oliver (8/5): Very good -
- Ni (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (8/5): Great little place for an overnight stay - Great location, only 15-20 mins walk from Birmingham New Street. The host sent check-in instructions the day before my arrival, so it was very easy and straightforward to check-in. Don't expect a four-star hotel room, and you won't be disappointed.
- Chukwunonyelu (9/5): Superb - Satisfied with my stay, the host is so thoughtful, went above and beyond in making provision for amenities with some extra treats.
- Lewis (9/5): Superb -
- Kerry (10/5): Everything you need for a weekend in Birmingham - Every thing we needed at a bargain price. Sadly couldn’t make tea as we had no milk
- Samuel (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (9/5): Great cosy stay. - A lovely stay, everything you need, very clean, excellant value for money and in walking distance of city centre. Good communication from owners. Will definitely stay again. Liked everything.
Wasn't sure if supposed to put outdoor key back in safe straight away but i did anyway.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Lindaw1 (8/5): Very good - Exactly as advertised. Great value for money. Fantastic instructions. Very close to train and tram station. Nice touches with treats The bed was far too hard for me, and sadly, i didn't sleep well. I like a firm mattress, but maybe a pillow, memory foam topper would help. I realise it's individual preferences.
- Fethi (7/5): Good - The enterance very bad smaly.need to clean the carpet.and remove the letter in tge front of door
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Dave (7/5): Hot! - Appeared very clean. Room was very hot for time of year(February)even with the fan running, dirty tissue down side of bed, toilet roll very thin & towels small & thin.
- Jorg (10/5): Cozy place, great location - Perfect location, the host was super friendly with the check-in and check-out times. Obviously you shouldn't book this accommodation if you want a nice view, but it's a cozy and warm little room with generous amenities, water/tea etc on arrival. Definently would recommend it if you're visiting Birmingham!
- Karolina (10/5): Exceptional - Decent location, easy to find with parking nearby and great value for money.
- Nicola (5/5): Passable - Room didn’t lock so had to arrange alternative accommodation at short notice.
- Ionela (8/5): Very good - Was clean place, bedding was fresh washed and smell nice.Very good for the price. All toiletries for shower and hot drinks, and snacks. Was pleased with the room.
- Li (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing. The equipment is sufficient; it includes a flexible table that can be used on the bed as well as a fan and heater in the room. have a homey vibe. even have a water filter, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Basically, you can get takeaway and reheat it for the next meal. Suitable for those who will be traveling for several days. Parking is quite simple. without a window is the only cons.
- Margaret (7/5): Good -
- Ieuan (8/5): Very good - Absolutley great value for money, staff were very helpful and very understanding and kind.
Room was small but cozy and had lots of little added things and had everything provided that was needed in the room from hand soap to spare pillows and was bery clean with no issues.
Location was very near to the arena I visited for a concert and in a good location just outside the main shopping area in the city center.
- Fuzael (9/5): Superb -
- Ladyshambles14 (10/5): Exceptional - nice and warm and cosy and clean
- Albert (10/5): Clean and peaceful! - Everything you need is provided! Nothing!
- Clair (8/5): Ideal for chilled travellers - The room has everything you need. The bathroom is a good size. When we arrived unfortunately the previous guests forgot to leave the key fob, we called the number provided and within 30 minutes we were met by someone and let in. Excellent service. The TV did not work for normal channels but streaming was ok.
- Oluwakemi (9/5): Superb -
- Kalpesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Modestas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (8/5): Great value and location -
- Karun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oluwakemi (9/5): Exceptionally excellent - the host - absolutely remarkable. very prompt in responding, clear direction and communication, extremely accommodating.....just made my stay extremely comfortable.
location was very good- literally walking distance to everything I needed, work, food, shopping centre etc
good affordable parking
the extra goodies in the room e.g.crisps, croissants, biscuits.....went an extra mile to make the stay comfortable and memorable. nothing. already booked the place again
- Martin (6/5): Good for a budget room - Good location
Clean & comfortable
Good for the price Below ground
A bit more cramped & cluttered than I'd imagined
Decor was fairly basic
- Jeremy (6/5): Tiny, inexpensive underground flat - Inexpensive, Well decorated (except for the defective tiling) and clean, good shower room, good facilities in tiny bedroom. Helpful response to a question about the tap water. Easy checkin and checkout. No outside window or natural light at all, just a vent.
No privacy whatsoever: our conversation was overheard through the sealed "window" opens into another room.
The "flat" is clearly a converted cellar, and some of the conversion, tiling and decor of the bathroom was very roughly finished at ground level. Some grout needs cleaning or replacing.
- Michaela (9/5): Superb - The accommodation is in a pleasant neighborhood very close to the train and tram stop. The accommodation meets exactly what is written on the booking. It is in the basement, which is slightly humid, but the air in the apartment is fine. We were very pleased with the shampoos in the bathroom and the tea and coffee. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
- Joe (8/5): Very good - The room is as described. It’s a basement room with no window but fans etc keeps the room feeling fairly fresh. It has a tv with Netflix, a nice bathroom, fridge, kettle etc - all you need for a night’s stay!
- Zeekilu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (7/5): Although the room is basic the extras provided are very good making it very good value for money. - Plenty of tea, coffee, sugar. Biscuits and croissants for snacking. Shampoo, shower gel, conditioner all providnied. Good shower. Toaster, microwave, fridge, iron and ironing board included in the room. Bed, bedding and decor quite basic. Windowless basement not a positive.
- Sonia (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (1/5): The filthiest accommodation i have ever seen in my entire life!! - nothing!!! We found the building totally disgusting. It appeared to be abandoned, our room was in the basement with a horrible filthy smell. There were no windows, that it´s illegal by law. Its also illegal to let rooms in this condition, not fit for human habitation!
- Mariela (10/5): Great option for Birmingham - The room was great, comfortable, clean and very nice. The bathroom was excellent too. Mary, the lady in charge, was super friendly and very generous.
- Clive (9/5): Superb -
- Inta (7/5): Despite staying in a basement room with not the best ventilation, we found it comfortable enough and shower was really g - Comfortable enough. Good shower and even some simple breakfast snack.
- Kerrie (8/5): Excellent accommodation when you just need a bed for the night. Basic but with every effort put in to make it enjoyable. - It was small & basic however they had clearly put effort in to elevate it to be as comfortable and homely as possible. It had all the right things in the space.
We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the bathroom and the shower was amazing!
The little touches such as available toiletries, tea and coffee and even a filled biscuit barrel and treat jar! Nothing, the advert was really clear what the property was. For example highlighting that the room didn’t have a window, so whilst I didn’t like it that it didn’t have a window I knew what I was signing up for so it was ok.
- Tim (7/5): Fine! Good value for money. - Not the greatest room but there were some nice, thoughtful touches that made me feel like the owners cared. Good communication about check in and thoughtful touches in the room. It was good value
- John (8/5): Very good - A convenient and good value place for a one night stay. The room was clean and offered all the facilities you could wish for. It's below ground level
- Richard (1/5): Disaster couldn’t get in - Nothing Everything
- Ali (9/5): Superb -
- Cucki (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (4/5): Disappointing, I left and paid to stay somewhere else - It's one of the cheapest places to stay in Birmingham, communication was good and the owners have obviously tried to make the room itself as comfortable as possible with nice touches like a fridge, free snacks and tea/coffee. I didn't feel comfortable there. The building itself, communal hallways and the room are all quite old/run down. There was a really overpowering mouldy/musty smell in the hallways. On opening the first door to the flat I was faced with a long black curtain with a warning sign saying not to open it which felt pretty sinister and unwelcoming. When I got into the room it was fairly cosy (despite the lack of a window which I knew about in advance) but after my not-so-pleasant first impression, and the fact that I could clearly hear the people upstairs, I decided not to stay.
- Enikanoselu (8/5): Very good -
- Joy (10/5): exceeded my expectations - the staff were so so kind. the location was very convenient and the accommodation itself was lovely. beautiful treats and amenities. the staff made my stay very comfortable with my family. i would definitely book here again!
- Adriana (9/5): Superb - All good. Staff is very friendly, the space is very clean. Recommended.
- Mongat (9/5): Superb -
- Dariusz (9/5): Superb -
- Shawn (8/5): Great if your on a budget. - Pleasant one night stay in Birmingham.
Lots of extra nice touches in room.
Host sent clean instructions.
- Karen (6/5): Good location for the arena for the price - Location is good if visiting the arena.
It was clean and towels fresh.
There were tea and coffee provided.
Bathroom a good size and clean and the shower was powerful and warm.
Good for a one night stay to see a concert at the arena. Parking was not as straight forward as implied in the listing. On street parking is limited to 2 hours 8-6 Monday to Saturday but free at other times. There is a small car park just up the road where you can park for longer but this closes at 9pm.
Whilst we were aware it was located on the basement without a window, there was a very strange smell on the stairs going down to the room and it was a little closer in proximity to other rooms than we realised.
The mattress and pillows were rather hard and unfortunately there was a party going on until the early hours in the room upstairs.
Would probably be better without the fridge and microwave as we didn’t feel this was really necessary as guests are unlikely to stay long enough to need them.
- Pachev (10/5): Exceptional -
