Guest Reviews
- Andrea (6/5): Great ambition, but not easy to use / not for everyone. - Beautiful place. Nice effort to combine modern and historical architecture. Great breakfast with local products and great tips from owner. Nice garden. Room upstairs is very nice with the old structures etc. But also dark and very hard to reach with steep stairs (more like a ladder). No help with luggage.
- Maureen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hubert (9/5): Great stay ! - Jacopo and Elena have turned la Rocca Castrigano into a great B&B : the house, in a great site close to Parma, is a mix of simplicity and elegance, with a great sense of esthetics in decoration and furniture. The breakast is great, full of fresh products, starting with the homemade parmigiano from the family milk facility. We have appreciated the great hospitality of our hosts, and we for sure recommend them and their house to every traveler. The guest house can sometimes be a little noisy so we guess it's even better to share it with friends or relatives, like we did.
- Cecilia (9/5): Superb - This is a wonderful property. The rooms are immaculate, it's been fully renovated by the owners but in keeping with the character of the 500yr old building. The rooms are larger than what they appear in the pictures, so our expectations were exceeded. We had great recommendations for places to visit and eat in the area, and the owners helped to book tours and restaurants. The breakfast is amazing and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
- Chevonne (10/5): Loved the authenticity of Rocca! You felt like it was a country stay with a few modern perks! - Loved the authenticity of Rocca ! Elena and Yakimo (I have definitely spelt this wrong) were super great hosts, so accommodating and made us feel very welcome! They gave us a tour of the area and explained the history of the houses which was super interesting! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet country stay.
- Ki (10/5): Exceptional - It was like I was invited to a friend’s house. Their buildings have history and you will see their exceptional care for furniture, linens, and foods. I added a tour of their cheese factory, the experience was more than I expected. I highly recommend!
- Jennifer (10/5): We spent such a refreshing couple of days in this beautifully restored medieval 'borgo'. - Elena and Jacopo are such perfect hosts. Their accommodation is unique in every way; from the restoration of the old buildings to the design of the furniture, from the wonderful garden where we spent the day working and reading, to the ad hoc lunch they put together for us. They were so kind and accommodating and did everything they could to make our stay with them really perfect.
- Maurice (10/5): Italian Countryside Paradise - It was amazing!
We arrived with no expectations and were received with a warm welcome after a long trip. In every detail of this place you can feel the effort and love that were put in. The hosts were extremely friendly and polite, and made sure we had nothing to ask for. They were also very knowledgeable about the surroundings, and took us on a tour of the cheese factory and (milk)farm that they own.
A delicious breakfast, beautiful environment and top notch service make this an unforgettable experience for whomever visits. We will return! The mosquitos, but i guess you get used to them.
