Guest Reviews
- andrew (10/5): Homeless Cottage - Location and facilities All good
- Jessica (9/5): A comfortable and excellent quality cottage in a great location with lots of walks right from the door. - Great location. Thoughtfully decorated to a high quality. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Nothing
- Sally (8/5): Lovely house in a nice village with lots to do close by - The house was lovely, lots of equipment and in a nice village The road was too close and quite noisy. The lack of garden and the spiral staircase on the deck was as difficult to manage
- Paul (10/5): - Everything. Nothing!
- Neha (10/5): Blissful and tranquil - Beautiful property right on the river. 10 min walk to The Prince George (formerly the Hare pub), Anchor Inn and Rose & Crown plus the Abbey itself! Quiet street, peaceful, serene, stunning views from the terrace, heard owls and saw meteor showers! Very clean, spacious and well stocked plus it has a washer and separate tumble driver and 3 shower rooms + WC!
Parking easy for one 4x4 N/A
- Richmond (9/5): The house has a relaxing feel to it and the views are to die for! - The house is beautifully presented with absolutely everything you need for a perfect holiday. The kitchen is probably the best equipped I’ve ever been to and the towels and bed linen are luxurious and pillows are extremely comfortable. The position of the property is fantastic and it’s an easy walk to pubs, cafes, trails and local attractions. The outdoor terrace offers stunning views across the river and it’s a great place to relax with a nice drink! Will definitely return again with my family! I honestly can’t fault it, the only thing that would make it even better would be a hot tub outside!!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully furnished with extremely comfortable beds. Lovely touch with the tea/coffee milk and wine, meant we could have a cuppa when we got there. The cottage was ready earlier than expected and we were able to check in sooner.
- Webster (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (9/5): Superb - Very clean and well equipped property great views over the river and excellent location for exploring the Wye Valley, Tintern, Bristol, Cardiff and South Wales. Good places to eat locally. Don't like being asked to strip beds, gather laundry etc before leaving - would expect this to be part of the property's housekeeping and included in the price or the price adjusted accordingly. If this is an owner requirement then it should be pointed out before booking.
- Jeremy (9/5): Birthday Family Weekend - Lovely property in a great location overlooking the river, made better by the sunny weather.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house, lovely area.
- Bron (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (9/5): Cosy winter weekend in a great location and quite perfect house - Great location, lovely decor and very well stocked kitchen, house has lots of practicality as well as charm. Bedrooms were really nice, lots of towels, fluffy pillows and warm comfy beds, nice soaps in the showers with great water pressure. Heating worked brilliantly so a very cosy festive weekend with family, even though there were red storm warnings in the area we felt warm and safe.
- Jess (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable, great space to make memories with family! - This was my second visit to Homleigh. I first booked it for a trip with friends earlier in the year and loved it so much that I returned for a long weekend with family. It’s a wonderful spacious house in a great location with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Nothing!
- Clare (9/5): Superb - Very clean, good facilities, comfortable. The road noise could be an issue for some although not too bad overnight as little traffic at that time.
- Sophie (10/5): Amazing stay in a wonderful location. - Wonderful stay in Tintern by the river. Luxury cottage with everything we needed.
- Sara (10/5): Homeleigh is an exceptionally well equipped and presented holiday home …. 5* - The property was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. There was nothing to dislike!
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage with everything you need - little things I liked: books, games, cafetière, tea strainer, magnifying mirror, hairdryer in each bedroom.
Beds and pillows so comfy and good quality bed linen.
Decking with amazing view and sofa style seating.
The property is gated so safe for dogs/kids if back door is open.
Walk to the right to a couple of pubs (The Anchor has outside tables and a huge field for the kids and dogs to run in) a cafe and across the bridge up to Devils Pulpit (a hard steep walk). The Abbey is an easy walk.
To the left you can walk to The Old Station - a lovely cafe with lots of outside space.
Thank you for a wonderful short stay it was perfect!
- Jacqi (10/5): Ideal holiday home. - Holmleigh is a very comfortable cottage, like a home from home. Well appointed kitchen, cosy lounge, good sized bedrooms with comfy beds and lovely powerful showers. Great location near walks, pubs and restaurants. Property is on the main road so there is some road noise.
- Catherine (9/5): Comfortable tidy well proportioned property for 6 people - Everything Too close to road
- Andrew (10/5): Brilliant and very convenient for the racing at Chepstow and Bath - Very clean, comfortable and well equipped Just a very small thing - the induction hob totally defeated us and there are no instruction in the house booklet
- Jess (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, Beautiful house and furnishings. Comfortable, well equipped, had everything we needed. Kitchen was especially well equipped. Large bedrooms all with extremely comfortable beds. Three bathrooms, comfortable sofas and a lovely two tier outside area for eating and relaxing.
Great communication with hosts, very accommodating and interactive. Absolutely nothing we didn't like! In fact, I have already rebooked for a family trip later in the year!
- Zoe (9/5): Spacious cottage, comfortably appointed in beautiful location - The cottage was very spacious with three comfortable beds and three bathrooms, ideal for three separate couples. The kitchen was well equipped and there was an outside dining area and a higher balcony with seating overlooking the river - the weather was good on one day so we were able to enjoy it. The traffic noise - we were unlucky in that there were traffic lights almost right outside the door so all the traffic was on the same side of the road, right next to the cottage as it passed through the village. It was quieter Sunday night though.
- Melesina (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (10/5): Fabulous! - Wonderful place to stay. Extremely spacious and comfortable, with everything (and more!) you could need. The house was immaculate and the outside seating areas were lovely, overlooking the river. The main street is busy, but quietens down at night. Really convenient location to explore nearby and beyond. We loved it here and will be back! Nothing, it was all fabulous.
- Paul (10/5): Had a great time. - Property was spacious and in a good location for amenities
- Kayla (10/5): Great property - Perfect property in the perfect location Having to leave
- Gary (10/5): Perfect home from home - Beautiful property, wonderfully comfortable yet stylish. Every aspect of the house worked perfectly for our group of 6.
- Debra (10/5): Wonderful break - Absolutely lovely house, extremely well equipped. Lots of room, easily accommodated a family of 6 adults. Great having 2 parking places on the property, with more very close by if needed. Had a lovely relaxing time there. Would recommend 100% It is right on the road and passing traffic can be a little noisy but we were fully aware of that and you tend not to notice after a while
- David (10/5): perfect country winter stay and great hosts! - we loved everything! the place was beautiful and warm, the rooms were very comfortable, the location was perfect, and our hosts were amazing, they thought of everything! highly recommended. we loved everything!
- Heather (9/5): Beautiful house in great location - Beautiful and well equipped property with lots of thoughtful touches. We came in winter so didn’t use the deck but the views were lovely. Instead we hunkered down by the fire and prepared meals in the very well equipped kitchen. Only pointer is check out was actually at 10am. I actually didn’t realise, and we could stay until 11, but it’s a bit early for 6 to have a little holiday lie in, all have showers, eat and pack up by 10. Would have been a rushed end to the weekend.
- Melanie (9/5): Superb - House was very clean, well looked after, beds very comfortable, linen and towels great quality. Good communication with the owner. Very minor thing but the showers could have been a bit bigger and due to it being an old house the floors were cold downstairs. The house was warm so just some slippers needed that’s all.
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Commutable bed great location Road noise
- Susan (7/5): Beautiful property overlooking the Wye - The property has been beautiful decorated. It is spacious and has plenty of bathrooms. It is right on top of the road which bothered my dog a little. It’s a shame there is no garden for the dog. Coming in and out of the drive was a bit scary too as the house is on a bend. There are mirrors up to make it safer though.
- Barry (10/5): Excellent - N/p N/p
- Kayla (9/5): Stunning home & location with friendly & helpful hosts - The location was incredible! The photos do not do it justice. 2 minute drive to Tintern Abbey and a lovely pub with a park and field for the kids to play in.
All instructions were left for appliances and general things including what to do in the local area.
Use of towels, bedding, cleaning products and even cutlery & crockery were perfect and made everything so much easier. It was definitely a home from home and we will be back again. The recycling system in wales is more full on than in England. No issues with recycling but the different coloured bags for different things took a moment to get our head around.
We put the bins out but unfortunately refilled it again later in the week, sorry.
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Joy (10/5): Lovely Holmleigh - Lovely property. Everything spotless. Beautiful views. Possibly more drawer storage space in bedrooms but that's just being picky!
- Hannah (10/5): Beautiful location Beautiful house - Beautiful location, house is fitted out to the highest quality and standard. We would definitely stay again.
- Emily (10/5): Amazing cottage, would definitely return - The cottage was perfect, beautiful location and has everything you would need N/A
- Trevor (9/5): Great cottage and lovely views - The property was in excellent condition with everything we needed for our short stay. There wasn't anything we didn't like. The location was great for walks and a short distance from various pubs /restaurants
- Danielle (10/5): the cottage was exceptional and in a beautiful location . -
- Ben (10/5): Outstanding in every way. - This is the cleanest and nicest holiday home we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect for exploring surrounding area. Nothing could be better.
- Carolyn (10/5): Exceptional homely cottage. - Immaculate well laidout cottage, ideal for 3 couples each having their own shower rooms. Everything you possibly would need is catered for and more. Ideally situated in very pretty countryside and located within walking distance of excellent pubs and restaurants.
- Margaret (9/5): excellent. just what I was hoping for - clean, comfortable in great location
