Guest Reviews
- Robert (9/5): Devonport xmas - Comfortable, cosy, great value, and friendly host NA
- Laelia (10/5): - Very friendly host with a sweet cat in a beautiful town
- Sasha (10/5): Felt like a home away from home and wish we could’ve stayed longer! - Helen was so wonderful and lovely. We loved the quirkiness of the room and felt right at home straight away. Helen’s welcoming personality added to this amazing experience, she put in extra effort to accommodate for our food allergies. We didn’t read that she has a cat and we have a cat allergies however the room and sheets were very clean and it did not affect us at all!
- Chia (9/5): - Warm and cosy.
- Oskar (5/5): - Location good. Helen was lovely and chatty! Room was very tiny with a tiny bed. Bed was not comfortable. You have to love cats as it had full run of house. Bathroom was very cold and almost outside. Our room was just off kitchen so did not feel very private.
- Carole (8/5): Great value for money, warm hospitality, uncomplicated stay - We loved the location within walking distance to everything. We also loved Helen’s warm welcome and flexibility to allow us to check in early. We enjoyed the freedom we had to come and go. Everything was well set up for our overnight stay, clean, warm, simple, friendly.
- BELINDA (5/5): - No wifi and need to check under lip of toliet bowel sorry was black sgum which sorry I had to clean before use it thanks
- margaret (7/5): welcome disappointing and breakfast and bathroom limited but cost was minimal and helen very friendl - We expected limited facilities for the price. However sharing facilities was a little uncomfortable. Arriving to an empty house and mobile calling unanswered for some time late evening
- Shane (10/5): Amazing Host...Great services and location to the town - Helen my host was amazing ..Very good knowledge of the town. Great to talk and chat to. Location was in walking distance of the town. Great recommendations for dinner. The breakfast had a good variety of cereal. Nothing ..The description of the property and services were exactly what I paid for.
- Kay (7/5): Convienient - Location was 5 star Booking information did not make us aware we would be sharing facilities. Although host did give us our privacy
- MattyB (10/5): Great central location - Helen was a great host. Very accommodating as due to delays I was running a bit late but it was no problem. Nice and quiet as well.

We could cook.
The owner was really nice, attentive and helpful.
- Isao (10/5): 猫が自由なBEATLESだらけの客室1つの宿 - 客室、キッチン、浴室バスタブあり、トイレどれも清潔。
Helenは親切でにこやかな猫好き。
一区画隣にスーパーマーケットも飲食店もある。海にも徒歩圏内。 何も無い。
- David (7/5): Convenient, friendly, well priced for what we got. - Getting breakfast at the price we paid was a bonus. While the breakfast was basic it was adequate. Our host was friendly and helpful. Crocheted cover on the table used for serving and eating breakfast - milk got spilled on it.
By the way, there are good beaches closer than East Devonport. Why the question about that? Doesn't make sense!

- Trisha (10/5): Great Location and a Lovely Host - Helen was a wonderful host—warm, welcoming, and full of great local tips. She’s extremely chatty, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Her house is beautiful, thoughtfully kept, and in a fantastic location—just a short walk from the city centre. It was the perfect base for our stay, and Helen’s hospitality truly made the experience memorable.
- Jack (10/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): It was pleasant sharing Helen’s life and loves - Tasmania; horses; the cat & the Beatles - It was quirky - following the name, but the hostess also shared her passion & success giving something to chat about. Nothing

- Kevin (9/5): Superb - A very enjoyable stay and Helen was very helpful. The bed was comfy and facilities available met all my needs.
- Gwendoline (8/5): A good fit for my short stay! - What first piqued my curiosity in choosing Strawberry fields was its themed connection to the Beatles, one of my fave groups.
My short stay was very good value for money. It was comfortable and in close proximity to the CBD, shops and the waterfront. The private entry and exit as well as full access to the kitchen were bonuses I valued. If I stayed longer, the included use of the washing machine would have been very helpful.
On arrival and after waiting for over an hour for a taxi which would never have come anyway due to its reported unreliability and short supply, I was most grateful that host Helen came to collect me from Devonport Airport. This service is not part of the package and I was more than happy to pay the host for her kindness and the inconvenience.
Helen was always prompt in responding to questions prior to my trip and was welcoming and hospitable throughout my stay. We discovered that we shared common interests in music and travel and she even found time to entertain me with her singing and guitar playing. I was pleasantly surprised to hear how much was going on in town in terms of the music scene.
If you’re looking for an affordable BNB in a quiet, central location that’s close to the action, Strawberry fields ticks all the boxes.

- Nicolas (10/5): Chilled stay, no dramas with arrival time and those kind of things! Helen, great! - Helen is really nice and easy going. She has a beautiful cat. The room is private and the bathroom is shared. Everything was immaculate. The room is old fashioned and the bed is really comfortable and cosy. Had a great time! I liked the porperty, the room has independent entrance so is really convenient for a shared house.
- Winchester (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darryl (8/5): Very good - Great location for us and loved the Beatles theme.
We were out and about on an unusually cold night for this time of year, so appreciated the addition of the electric blanket on the bed from our previous visit!
- Jesse (1/5): we slept in our car. she was rude and horrible - nothing! stated a whole unit on bottom floor to ourselves. and got a room with a cat that my partner was allergic too almost refused to open door and spoke like crap to us.
