- Kathryn Woods (8/5): We had a great stay here, no complaints really, except stating there are 2 bathrooms was misleading. - Lovely comfy home, nice furniture, comfy beds, good appliances, great outdoor entertaining area. The 2nd bathroom is an outdoor shower and bath tub, that offered zero privacy.
- Alan (9/5): Unexpectedly beautiful, will need to come back again in the future - A fantastic retreat with so much to do locally N/A
- Nicoleta (7/5): - The location was good and very easy to access. One of the bedrooms could perhaps have been cleaned a little more thoroughly, and it would have been nice to have soap provided in the bedroom with the toilet.
- Paul (3/5): Tired and dated cottage which requires attention. - The property was in a quiet residential neighbourhood close to a natural beach, and within a short drive to Coles Bay.
The property had nice outside space, with a large table and a couple of loungers on the front terrace, shielded from the road by shrubs. There were also a couple of friendly local dogs who on occasion run around the garden, once at 2am which made quite a noise on the decking.
We didn’t use the BBQ as it looked a bit grimy. The property was a bit tired and needed a thorough deep clean. The kitchen area in particular was pretty poor, the oven didn’t work properly and the management company didn’t respond to my message. The property was dusty and looked like it had only had a basic clean, the insides of windows were filthy, it was dusty and generally looked tired and dated. The kitchen goods, especially the baking trays were disgraceful and we had to wash most crockery had to be washed before we used it to remove food debris. There is poor lighting in the one bathroom, the other is an en-suite toilet only. There was only one wardrobe with only two hangers, the second bedroom had some drawers and the third bedroom, nowhere to put clothes.
- Joanne (8/5): - Location is very good and house is spacious.
- Jasmine (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Nice quiet spot close to Freycinet national park. - Very comfortable beds, large fluffy bath towels and quality toiletries. Nice modern bathroom. Easy off street parking. The split system air conditioner was very noisy. Microwave was too high up to enable use, suggest relocating or providing a step stool.
- Seth (8/5): Wonderful holiday close to great places. - There was a barbecue and bath. Both needed a little clean before use (we sourced some cloths from things in the house) and we happily used them.
Blankets were very soft and a fun assortment of DVDs which was a fun change from the choice paralysis of streaming services. There was lots of little details that were unclean. The cooking pans are scratched and some teflon which was easy steer clear from when they have a BBQ.
- Katrina (10/5): Wonderful home away from him in the perfect location - Everything we needed for our stay in Coles Bay was available. The property was lovely with generous sized rooms. The garden, deck and seating areas were delightful. I appreciate when the kitchen includes supplies such as s&p, cooking oil and silver foil. There was even washing detergent in the laundry.
It was so quiet of a night, yet only a short drive to go to a restaurant or into the national park.
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (10/5): We’ll be back - Everything. A very comfortable property. Close to pretty much everything. Loved the birds in the garden and the lightness of the home. Nothing .
- Michael (10/5): Comfortable, spacious home close to Freycinet. - Easy check in, beautiful garden, and very spacious. Pictures don't do it justice how nice it is inside. Very close to Freycinet.
- Robert (8/5): Enjoyable - Location and ability to enjoy the area Minor niggles only. Iron but no ironing board. No kitchen scissors. No kitchen paper towels.
- Jenny (10/5): Great location and a really beautiful house - Beautiful location,Very spacious beach house . Nothing
- Suzanne (7/5): Good - Space and location Oven did not work and items were old eg broken (small) coffee plunger
- Honeysuckle (10/5): Exceptional - just has a lovely vibe, great garden, nice light space close to everything
- Huy (8/5): Very good -
- Nigel (8/5): The stormy blustery conditions dampened our spirits restricting our ability to fully enjoy the beauty of our Creator God - A lovely setting as one could expect in a National Park. Very comfortable house and refuge from the extremely inclement winter weather conditions. There were some dusty areas particularly under the beds.
- Janelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (8/5): Lovely light, however... Credit Card Charges - on top of the 21% fee charged above accomodation cost - Nice location, nice light entering the house. Spacious and good sized furniture. Self check in. Comfy beds, slept well. 🙂 No rubbish bin liner for the bin, cleaning could be a little better.
The microwave definitely needs to find a better home, as we're reasonably tall, and it was very awkward even for us to use. Short guests wouldn't be able to, and it's actually a safety hazard with hot food potential to spill onto you.
Also needs a clothes horse to dry clothes inside if required.
EDIT: I have since updated my review due to finding we had been charged over and above what we agreed to in our booking. Upon questioning this and requesting a refund for the overcharge, was informed that there is an "additional credit card charge that is charged to each booking". I have never had another accommodation provider charge above what is booked on Booking.com, and I find this unethical as you are not being charged what you agreed to.
EDIT #2: Have just received a message from the accommodation provider stating they are going to refund the extra credit card charges (because this was not disclosed at my time of booking), and that they have updated their information on Booking.com to disclose the additional credit card charges following my feedback. Have therefore amended review scoring accordingly.
- Brendan (8/5): Stay was good and met expectations - Location great. Easy walk to beach. Short drive to town centre and National Park. Bedside lights -no bulbs main bedroom. Heater main bedroom not working.
- Anne (8/5): i probabely wouldnt recommend staying in Freycinet there really isnt a lot to do and no decent food shopping - the property was a lovely design and layout no instructions on how to use the oven and no ironing board
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Ding (10/5): Exceptional - Nice house, comfy bed. None
- Valentina (10/5): Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed at all 🙌🏼 - It is a beautiful and spacious house. Comfortable and has natural light
It is truly beautiful
- Jennifer (9/5): Fab property, highly recommend. - Fabulous property, very spacious and well appointed. Bathroom great with heated towel rail and bath products. Some kitchenware not clean.
- Helen (10/5): Excellent hosts and a beautiful comfortable stay -
- Cindy (7/5): Spacious but pricey - Spacious Pricey
- Hayati (8/5): Pleasant stay - Beautiful and peaceful location No fan/aircon in the bedrooms. As we were staying during summer it does get pretty hot at night.
- San (8/5): Excellent location - spoiled by unsuspected additional charge - Perfect for weekend away - Coles Bay is a bit remote so everything closes very early - we arrived just enough time to grab a few things from the local general store to cook our dinner.
The house is beautifully decorated and equipped with gas stove and electric oven plus microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine, fully renovated bathroom toilet and also an ensuite in the front bedroom. There is a third bedroom but we keep it closed as we only booked for 4 persons or two bedrooms which are reasonably roomy enough.
The house has reverse cycle Airconditioning in the main lounge room, electric wall convection heater in each bedroom, and of course wifi and flatscreen TV
The house also has an outdoor bath and shower facilities with privacy screening
Parking is off street in the roomy front courtyard
We had no problem finding the address thanks to the good instructions from the owner/agent -The price for the accommodation clearly states the cost inclusive of all tax and charges but I found out I was charged an extra 2.75% - when I rang up to enquire about this additional cost I was told it was for Mastercard credit card surcharge, the owner/agent then cut me off.
I have asked Booking.com to look into it because I think this is unacceptable.
- Honeysuckle (9/5): Superb - Loved the vibe, the birds, had everything you needed and was quirky, but so comfortable felt like home.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Toni (9/5): Extremely happy with location and comfort of property - There was no breakfast provided but didn't expect. Comfortable lounge and dining furniture. Lovely garden plenty of area for children to explore. Spacious interior and large deck. Could have used a lamp in lounge area. Paper kitchen towels would be useful. Only a wardrobe in main bedroom no hanging space in other rooms
- Jenny (9/5): Great location - Well appointed house, convenient location for exploring Freycinet & Coles Bay. No views but only a short walk to the beach. Quiet location. Nothing really - happy customers.
- Khoo (9/5): Superb - Love the location, the garden. It’s close enough to coles bay and freycinet to allow us to explore the area properly. It was great to come back to a well equipped clean home in the evening
- Shijun (8/5): Very good - It was clean, beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed our stay there. We were happy with gas stove and extra toilet. Lovely garden view with a lot of active birds. Poor customer service. Never answer my questions.
- Michelle (9/5): Very convenient and beautiful location and comfortable well appointed accommodation. Great stay. - Beautiful interiors full of natural timbers and every convenience. All sorts of birds feasting on the flowering gum trees in the gorgeous native garden. We arrived late and there was nowhere to eat. Would be good to have a few snacks available or a heads up about the early closing times of all the local eateries and where to pick up food on the way if you are a late arrival
- Claire (10/5): Fabulous location, extremely comfortable, everything you could ever want in holiday accommodation. - Stunning accomodation so comfortable and cosy. Everything you need to relax and have a great vacation. Nil
