Guest Reviews
- Reinou (9/5): -
- Eduarda (9/5): A very italian and nature stay - Everything is handmade, the room is beautiful and clean, the breakfast is delicious, is easy to talk to the property It’s a little bit far from everything
- Katharina (9/5): -
- Charles-Edouard (9/5): -
- Simon (9/5): We would definitely go again. - Really cosy despite the unseasonably cold weather. Nothing.
- Rebeca (10/5): -
- Marco (10/5): Fantastisch verblijf! Super gastvrij op heerlijk locatie. - Wat was het hier fantastisch! We sliepen in een trullo, zo mooi. Alles klopte, ruim, schoon, goed bed, heerlijke bad kamer. Super gastvrij ontvangen door de lieve gastvrouw. Heerlijk ontbijt. Dit alles op een prachtige locatie. Helemaal niets!
- Lorenzo (10/5): - Struttura incredibile, bellezza fuori dal comune e servizi altrettanto ottimi.
- Felix (10/5): Magical place - I came here with my girlfriend and had a magical few days. Would recommend this beautiful place to anyone. The staff were very helpful and the onsite restaurant was an experience everyone should enjoy and try out!
- Alain (10/5): -
- Amanda (9/5): - The property is beautiful--the gardens and pool area are well cared for and picturesque, as was the lovely breakfast in the greenhouse space in the morning. Our studio room was rustic but comfortable and cozy. Maria Luisa was communicative and responsive, and even shared recommendations for the next stop on our trip. We were sad not to stay in one of the actual trulli and although there is a reminder in the actual listing, would recommend clearer titles for each individual room.
- Jeremy (9/5): Picturesque property with well refurbished trulli. - Beautifully presented and fitted out. Very comfortable and roomy. Good shower, generous breakfast in lovely greenhouse. Would have loved to stay another night to make use of the pool and garden during heat of day. Only that a small window above the bed provided little ventilation. Pity front doors couldn’t be locked open for air without light. A spare blanket for the bed would have been welcomed
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Clarissa (9/5): - Wirklich schöne Anlage! Extrem freundliche Betreiber. Sehr ruhig
- Marino (10/5): The perfect stay - This was the best property I’ve ever visited on a vacation! The trullos themselves were renovated and decorated to perfection. Ours was Pietra—incredibly comfortable and spacious. Upon arriving, we had a seamless check-in thanks to the great communication from the staff via WhatsApp. Maria was our primary host and owner of the property. She was a joy to chat with and she provided excellent recommendations for what to do in the area for activities as well as where to buy the best local products. During our stay, we booked the pasta making class provided by the property (it took place next door at their new restaurant Neviera Elia) and it was led by a local nonna who showed us how to make three different pastas. It was so easy booking the additional experience through the property. We can’t wait to stay again!
- Christelle (10/5): -
Niets
- Filip (10/5): A lovely B&B with warm and welcoming hosts. - A lovely B&B with outstanding hospitality from the wonderful Elia family. From the very first moment, we felt completely at home. Breakfast under the beautiful old olive tree was a delight, and the pool was perfect for a refreshing dip. We only booked for a week 😅
- engelien (10/5): In een woord fantastisch! - Mooi huisje, ligging zwembad, plattelandssfeer, helemaal in zwembad was top! .
- Martin (10/5): - Amazing experience. We loved everything: the place, room, pool, breakfast. We’ll be back!
Me encantó TODO
- Anna (10/5): Hotel and breakfast was perfect. Dinner at the family’s new restaurant was also great - Beautifully designed and laid out, relaxing and surrounded by nature Nothing
- Susanna (9/5): -
- Florence (9/5): Super adresse - Accueil convivial !
Rien !
- Emma (10/5): -
- Jenny (9/5): Superb -
- Ginnan (10/5): Exceptional - I recently stayed a this Hotel for one night only and had a positive experience. The room was clean and well maintained and very spacious. I especially appreciated the kindness of the staff, who were very friendly and helpful and the great chef who cooked an excellent evening meal. The place is super chilled and magical, very relaxing and peaceful. Thank you.
- Shaun (10/5): Why only visit a Trullo when you can stay in the real deal! - Excellent hostess, fantastic 5th generation working olive farm and vineyard where part of the property offers 6 rooms, three trulli and 3 regular rooms. Wonderful breakfast. Unbeatable location to base yourself with day trips to Alberobello, Martina Franca, Ostuni, Taranto, and Brindisi, or relax by the pool all day and have dinner in the charming town of Ceglie Messipicca and experience authentic community life around the Piazza while enjoying a gelato. Leaving
- Stamatia (10/5): A (trulli amazing) stay we’ll never forget! - Trullo Santangelo is one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we booked, Maria Luisa was always available and kind, helping us with every detail. The trulli itself looked like something out of a fairytale. Peaceful, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, and full of charm.
Breakfast under the trees was a daily highlight. Everything was fresh, homemade scrambled eggs, local products, great coffee. And the best part? Hugo and Kite, the two friendly dogs who kept us company every morning!
We also did a wine tasting at the property. The wines come from their own label, Cantina Elia, and are truly top quality. Annalisa, who led the tasting, was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Big thanks to Sergio, the man behind the wines, for his incredible work as well.
This trip was a surprise I planned for my boyfriend’s birthday… but the biggest surprise came from him: he proposed here! Trullo Santangelo will always have a place in our hearts.
P.S. Don’t miss the massage under the olive trees, the wine tasting and just taking in the calm and beauty of this place. We can’t wait to come back!
- Andersson (10/5): Amazing stay - We stayed here twice during our vacation in Puglia and we absolutely loved it. Our favourite place!
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful country stay - Maria and her family were extremely accommodating and helpful. Great communication. Our room was a new build and very nicely done with very modern
Bathroom. The breakfast was ideal in the garden area. There is a common area for tea and coffee making. The pool area was very nice. A very friendly and professional family run property. A good base for a few days stay if you wish to relax and just do day drives within the region. We stayed only one night on our way from Matera to Lecce and it was great to see some traditional, country life.
- Laetitia (10/5): Charming, baby friendly place - Trullo Santangelo is a truly charming place, designed to make guests feel right at home. The property and its amenities—including the outdoor kitchen—were absolutely ideal for us, especially while traveling with a 10-month-old baby. The occasional dinners hosted at the property are really tasty and of quality. Additionally, Maria Luisa’s availability and quick responses to our questions and requests were greatly appreciated. We will definitely stay at the Trullo again if we return to the area.
- Yvette (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maral (10/5): Perfect Stay for a relaxed getaway into nature (also for Families) -
- Chuck (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniela (10/5): We enjoyed it a lot - Very idyllic setting-lovely experience staying in a Trullo. Wonderful beds and towels and shower and hosts. Decor is stylish and the nearby town better than the typical tourist places.
- Hajo (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you for having us for a single night only.
You have wonderful Trullos and an amazing spot.
The breakfast was superb.
And thank you for all the tips for the day.
- Patricia (10/5): A great place, in a lovely environment that allowed us to explore the area. - We had a fabulous room, our hosts and their staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were great. Nothing
- Caryn (9/5): A relaxing stay in Puglia with an engaging and friendly family - Beautiful grounds, setting was spacious and quiet. A rural feel, a respite from the bigger cities.
Breakfast was lovely, esp those cheesy scrambled eggs.
Maria Luisa was a fantastic host and gave us recommendations for visiting coastal towns we’d not heard about. Five generations have worked this property and the family feel was real; we saw siblings come over with their little ones to celebrate a 3year olds birthday. So much joy. And their two dogs were friendly and helped us with missing our own dog.
Maria Louisa made us a “to go” breakfast when we had to leave early the last morning. We recommend staying here and enjoying the laid back vibe which is Puglia. Ciao ciao to our new friends. Not applicable
- Steve (10/5): Perfect hosts, great location, fantastic food and wines & the dogs are really friendly - Fantastic breakfast in the garden under a large olive tree set us up for the day. Great service from Erica and Maria Luisa, especially the coffee & eggs
If you get a chance to have dinner don’t pass it up as Danielle is a top chef & their wines are amazing. Perfect introduction to fantastic Puglia The mosquitos
- Margi (9/5): Sorry we were not there for longer. A delightful restful break on our busy journey - Rustic warm welcoming clean Nothing to dislike
- Hanh (9/5): Short stay in a charming renovated trullo - Very charming trullo with a great outdoors set up
- Joanne (10/5): Great place to relax for a few days - Such a cute setting, very peaceful. Beds were super comfortable. Delicious breakfast served in the garden. Nothing 😀
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadine (10/5): Perfect holidays at a stunning place! - One of the most beautiful and peaceful places on our earth. Time was just stopping because we enjoyed every moment in this accomodation. We could absolutely relax at the whole place. Breakfast was amazing! Pool was perfect!
- Lavinia (10/5): I highly recommend this place for a honeymoon or a relaxing holiday - Trullo Santangelo was the perfect honeymoon destination for us. The picturesque setting, surrounded by nature and beauty, made it truly special. We adored the Trullo Arco; it was beautiful, clean, and wonderfully quiet. Maria Luisa was exceptionally friendly and kind, always eager to recommend activities and places to visit during the day. The breakfast was also delightful, offering a variety of delicious options. The location was ideal, although a car is necessary for getting around. We highly recommend this place and can't wait to return! Everything was perfect
- Sara (10/5): Tranquili setting, beautiful Trullos, one of the highlights of our Italy holiday - The trullos are beautiful, beds comfortable, setting incredible. Loved the pool. Lovely owners, highly recommend. Would love to come back one day Nothing
- Sunita (10/5): Charming location and property. Worth a visit! - Picturesque stay and lovely accommodations. Wish we could have stayed longer. Loved the restaurant recommendation in Ceglie.
- Gonzalez (9/5): Superb -
- Marylou (10/5): Super unique property. - We loved our stay . The property is simply decorated which is beautiful. There is a very peaceful atmosphere. I slept so well in a super comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious and was so fresh. I highly recommend this property. Nothing . It was fabulous
- Angela (10/5): Beautiful and Peaceful Trullo Lodging - It is hidden gem with beautiful gardens. The olive trees, vineyards and other numerous flowering plants are all so well maintained. It is located a bit off the main road, and we found it hard to find on our first try. However, the owner went out of her way to locate us and had us follow her to it. The staff members were warm and welcoming. Breakfast is served in the outside garden. There is a "greenhouse" seating for inclement days. There is also a fully equipped outside kitchen area to help yourself to coffee or tea. The pool area had multiple lounging areas with umbrellas. It is a peaceful oasis and located near several other areas that are convenient to visit. The trulli itself is modern but is not spacious. However, there are so many seating areas on the property that we did not spend much time inside. There is no TV in each unit. WIFI for us could not be used inside the Trulli which I can guess is due to the very thick walls. However, WiFi was usable outside on the grounds.
- Reinhilde (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully decorated rooms/trulli in a quiet, peaceful setting. The rooms have high quality beds and pillows, so we slept very well. Everything you need is available: (pool)towels, soap, water and coffee, a personal fridge...
If you like to cook dinner, there is a well equiped outdoor kitchen available under the patio.
Take a walk in the beautiful garden, full of scented citrus trees and flowers. Tucked away under old olive trees, you'll find the large and refreshing swimming pool. For me, the furry friends (two dogs and cats) made the stay complete. If you're not an animal lover, don't worry. They are well behaved and they won't approach you if you don't want that.
Maria Luisa and her lovely friend serve a delicious breakfast in the garden. They spoil you with freshly picked local fruit, pastries and bread from the market, excellent cheese and charcuterie, all locally produced. Their olive oil is a delicacy on it's own (you can buy it there if you want, and some locally produced wines as well). You can taste that the best secret ingredient is love :-).
Unfortunately, we had a flat tire on the first day of our stay. Not very handy if you don't speak Italian well..But Maria Luisa and her team helped us immediately to get back on the road in a heartbeat.
Also, she gave us great tips to explore the broad area of Puglia.
Don't hesitate to book your stay here. You won't be dissapointed as this is the best an agriturismo stay can get.
Ci vediamo! Grazie per tutti! Absolutely nothing
- Karen (10/5): Fabulous! The perfect base for exploring Puglia - Fabulous property, and the hosts are delightful, friendly, and kind. Beautifully appointed rooms and gardens, and it was a pleasure to sit in the pretty garden area - so peaceful. Breakfast was by far best we had experienced in our 3 weeks driving trip. This place won our hearts, and we will return. N/A
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, and welcoming place to experience the Italian countryside! -
- Kagan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Highly recommend Trullo Santangelo if you a beautiful, relaxing base to visit the surrounding towns. - Beautifully appointed Trullo with modern bathroom was a delight. The gardens, pool and surrounding olive trees are a wonderful place to relax. The breakfast was fabulous, we were very spoiled and highly recommend you take advantage of the dinner. The location is great, easy drive to surrounding towns. Our hosts were delightful.
- Jennifer (9/5): A wonderful stay near Ceglie - We stayed in the Lamia for 3 nights with our two children. The property and its surroundings are stunning and so peaceful. We had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the breakfast on the beautiful patio. The lady who served breakfast every morning was really charming and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests from time to time during our stay. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and the dogs Hugo and Kite and are already asking to go back. There are lots of toys and slide etc for toddlers and a gorgeous walk through the olive trees. It’s a very short drive to Ceglie Messapica which we adored. The roads leading to the property are narrow with beautiful stone walls. The whole area is very picturesque. The one thing we missed was a clothes horse to hang our wet swimming clothes to dry. Just a small thing. Would also maybe have liked a kettle for the room but we were able to use the communal kitchen. Overall a highlight in beautiful Puglia.
- Hadrien (10/5): Superb guest room ideally located - Maria Luisa and her husband are adorable and will do everything to make your stay pleasant.
Everything is perfect, the rooms are clean and made up every day (which is rare in bed and breakfasts), possibility of dining on site and taking cooking classes (we did it, it was great)
For sure we will come back Nothing
- Milanes (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Best place in Puglia to unwind - Maria Louisa, Gabriella & Danny (chef) were the most amazing hosts. If you’re going to south Puglia you have to stay here and relax. Morning coffee by the pool and breakfast set under olive trees. They also do weekly dinners at the property that are a must. The rooms are very clean and simple. It’s such a special place to unwind and relax. I wish we could have stayed longer. Make sure you try their wine and olive Oil - it’s incredible.
- Savannah (9/5): Superb -
- Pauline (10/5): Dreamy holiday in a Trullo - Marie Luisa was truly the best host possible in Italy. Her sense of hospitality is beyond amazing. We enjoyed everything (the pool, the small details and gifts in the room, the recommandations for nearby restaurants, the confortable rooms, the delicious breakfast, ...). It was a perfect stay !
- Julia (9/5): Wonderful experience! - Great place, quiet area, super pool area, wonderful people, fresh and tasty food, both for breakfast but especially also for dinner which is served a couple of days per week and absolutely worth!!
We loved being there!!! -
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lyndon (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderfully peaceful property, great for families. Amazing hosts!!
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - the place and rooms are very nice, well done and well maintained, the property is located next to a Dancing club, so on the weekends you can not enjoy the peaceful surroundings at night due to the music being so loud
- Orestis (10/5): Serene family friendly place - Great place with large grounds and very friendly hosts.
- Alyson (10/5): Breathtaking stay - An absolutely breathtaking place to stay!
I cannot say enough amazing things about this property and the amazing staff. My partner and I would go back here in a heartbeat, especially to spend one more morning eating another amazing breakfast with the dogs or sitting by the pool reading our books amongst the butterflies :)
- Tabitha (10/5): A beautiful and relaxing stay - A beautiful relaxing and quiet property that was just stunning Nothing
- Filippo (10/5): Don’t miss this! - Amazing location, in the middle of Puglia’s countryside. Very well set up, tastefully decorated, great swimming pool, very good food and friendly staff.
- When (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruchi (10/5): Look no further - just book! -
- Zara (10/5): Fabulous stay in a traditional trulli with charming hosts. - We loved our stay in a traditional Trulli house and everything about our stay at Trullo Santangelo. The Trulli was well kitted out for everything you’d need and big bed, along with access to a communal kitchen.
The location is wonderfully quiet amongst the olive groves but within east reach of the towns of the d’itra Valley. The hosts were very charming and we particularly liked the family feel. The breakfasts were incredible with lots of local produce and very friendly, attentive staff. We also were surprised to find that the hosts run occasional evening meals at the venue, charged separately at very good value and delicious home made food, with their wines on offer. Nothing.
- Pollak (10/5): Exceptional - The property was beautiful with a peaceful and calming atmosphere. Staff was excellent and attentive. Highly recommended!
- Alister (8/5): Very good - Pool, breakfast and breakfast waitress was delightful. Garden and kite the dog were great. Parking in Ceglie Messipica at night for dinner is a nightmare.
- Hilary (10/5): A dream - Very relaxed atmosphere. Lovely lunch outside, wonderful food and service, charming people and very good swimming pool. It doesn't get better than this.
It was more than we could ever wish for. We were charmed and delighted. N/a
- Simon (10/5): Really enjoyable break, great hospitality - Lovely staff, well-kept, superb breakfast, the wine!
- Marjolein (10/5): amazing! - We had the best stay at Trullo Santangelo. The place is beautifull. The breakfast was amazing (And the place where you had breakfast made it even better). We also had dinner one night at the Trullo, which was amazing! If they organise dinner during your stay I would definatelly recommend to join. Maria and Daniela and other staff are very friendly

- Dhruv (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Best stay of our whole trip! - Trullo Santangelo was the biggest surprise of our trip. The whole place was so beautifully thought out. From the amazing breakfast with only local products, to their own wines to making dinner in their outside kitchen. Everything was just a dream. For information about the area, where to go or just a nice table conversation Maria Luisa and Daniele are the best. We felt at home right away! Stop looking, start booking Trullo Santangelo and thank me later 👍🏻
- Edward (9/5): Puglian bliss! The most charming and wonderful holiday! - A magical location!
- Guido (10/5): wonderful - location, accomodation, kindness of management
- Mathieu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional - This is a very special place, run by the sweetest family who cares so much about every aspect the property and your stay. The property and facilities were beautiful, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, and breakfast every morning was exceptional! Maria Luisa is a treasure and makes you feel so at home!! She also no shortage of recommendations for the area :) Nothing!
- Lori (10/5): Cute and Relaxing - wonderful property 1.5 km outside of town. Trulli are modern and comfortable inside with great beds and modern walk in shower. Hosts were super friendly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and other activities. Central location to visit surrounding towns such as Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Alberobello, Ostuni, etc. was too cold to use the pool
