Guest Reviews
- Liam (10/5): - Beautiful place, very clean, excellent location and wonderful staff
- Bridget (5/5): - Space Overwhelming smell of bleach that affected sleep.
- Karen (10/5): - We had a very friendly welcome by owners David and his sister Eva. We got a really nice suite. The breakfast was delicious and we got great recommendations for things to see and do in the environment.

- MaryPat (5/5): Good location - Location was convenient for town and owner and staff very nice and welcoming. Property was a bit run down, brown damp spots on ceiling in one room, garden furniture in disrepair, in both rooms we rented the showers were difficult as water either freezing or too hot.
- Anne (9/5): - A beautiful guest house, lovely warm greeting. Beautiful gardens. The host and he's sister are so warm and kind. Lovely location and excellent tea...
- Georgina (10/5): - Fantastic host
- Darragh (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Daithi is a great host. Would definitely stay again
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- Catherine (8/5): - Near wedding venue Strong smell of cigarette smoke on entry.
- Oluwabunmi (6/5): Good - Location was good. Close to the main street. Nothing
- Rachel (9/5): -
- Laura (7/5): Central location and friendly staff - Very welcoming staff and great location
- ALEKSANDR (9/5): I was enjoyed - I like that No parking.
- Jenelle (10/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): Recommended - The place is amazing and close to city centre.
There’s a parking for guests and the staff is really nice and welcoming Shower didn’t worked well. Or ice water or boiled.
- Joanne (10/5): Comfortable stay near Clonakilty’s center - We had a very nice and comfortable 2-room suite. The host and staff were very kind and helpful. We were able to park free on property, and Nordav Guesthouse is in walking distance to Clonakilty center and its restaurants and pubs. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
- NICOLAS (10/5): -
- Alan (8/5): Great room, location and host. - Great location, very quiet, pet friendly, friendly hosts. Very little to fault, but suggest changing coffee machine to one where pods are available in local stores.
- Jennifer (8/5): Comfortable, Cosy & Peaceful - It was very clean and cosy with lovely friendly staff. Beds were super comfy ! The property itself is located centrally to Clonakilty but in a very peaceful location. Limited parking at the property
- Alan (9/5): - Great value for money, big room and comfortable. Nothing.
- Farrell (9/5): Great location, lovely room, helpful staff and a huge breakfast! - We were given a full Irish. Neither I nor my daughter would normally eat that, so there was a lot of waste. It might help from a cost point of view to ask people what they would like for breakfast, rather than giving them everything. We sent back the pudding, rashers, hash browns. Nothing
- Richard (7/5): -
- John (6/5): -
- Mathieu (5/5): Faded glory - Nice location, wifi worked well, and it was nice to have coffee / tea availble in the room. This was our first B&B experience, so it’s possible that part of our impression comes down to expectations or personal preference. That said, based on the photos and consistently strong reviews, we did expect something different.
On arrival, there wasn’t much of a welcome or introduction. The people we met were friendly, but there was no explanation about shared spaces, whether the garden shown in the photos could be used, or even where to find it. Practical information like the WiFi code had to be requested, and there was no guidance provided for using the Sky TV. This made us decide not to ask whether breakfast could be additionally booked.
The apartment itself shows signs of wear and could use some maintenance. There are a few loose cables visible, and paint is peeling in places. The sliding door to the balcony is difficult to operate, and the balcony area itself wasn’t tidy and had shards from what looked like a broken ceramic ashtray or similar. We also noticed a flickering light at times and occasionally a smell of smoke in the house. Additionally, we had to ask for basic items like toilet paper, which didn’t feel very welcoming.
Individually, none of these points are major issues, but taken together they did impact our overall experience. In particular, the current state and interior don’t fully match the photos on Booking.com, which creates different expectations—especially given the relatively high price.
Overall, we found it disappointing, with the apartment giving more of a “faded glory” impression than what we had hoped for.
- Alison Cowpar (8/5): Would recommend - Very friendly host, fantastic breakfast, spotless and close to town, we would stay again
- Amy (10/5): - My room was amazing, and the bed was extremely comfortable
- Margaret (6/5): Great location - The location was excellent
Beautiful bed linen and towels.
Comfy bed
Clean bathroom The kitchenette was old fashioned, too many extension plugs on show. No cloths to wipe down surface.
No bin in room.
Wardrobe facilities were very poor. 3 hangers only and poor quality. Area not particularly clean or tidy.

- Frank (9/5): Very pleasant - This guesthouse was very comfortable and the host was very pleasant and unintrusive. We had a very pleasant stay. Everything was fine. No complaints at all
- moira (10/5): Excellent find - Everything. David was so friendly and made us feel very welcome, the room was exactly like the photos. We had a junior suite which had a separate living area and was a great space to relax at night. Breakfast was very filling, with home made cakes and pastries. We didn’t have the full Irish breakfast, my poached eggs were so tasty and beautifully cooked. We had a parking space right outside the house. The property was just a short walk into town where there were lots of bars and restaurants for dinner. We would definitely return. There was nothing to dislike.
- Noirin (10/5): Cosy, clean, comfortable.. - Everything Everything
- Gareth (10/5): A home away from home - David was a fantastic host and made you feel as though you’d had know him for years. With a beautiful home only a stones throw away from the centre of town, it really is a perfect place to stay.
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Christine (9/5): -
- Noreen (10/5): -
- Michael (5/5): Could do a lot better - Host was very friendly and polite. Even gave us a lift to where we had booked a restaurant.
BUT.. the couple we were travelling with was given a suite upstairs. Whilst we had a std double room. Very small. No tea/coffee facilities. Not even glasses or water! We were charged same amount as the couple with the suite! No tea/coffee facilities
No cups/glasses or even a bottle of water
Small room
Bulbs not working on light fitting
Owners dog was sick on reception/lounge room carpet. This was left overnight with simply a tissue covering it!?

- Terence (8/5): Really delighted we chose to stay in the very homely and welcoming B&B 🙏 - David our host was great on arrival - nothing was an effort. All the staff we met through our two nights were exceptional. Thank you!
Breakfast was superb- a full Irish was offered but we wanted a simple set up and had fruit, breads and coffee- was perfect and beautifully presented in our bedroom at a time specified by us.
We had a bedroom and lounge area with private bathroom
Our pet dog was welcome. The suit was clean, great facilities and well maintained.
The location was perfect for exploring the area and David allowed us to park within the grounds.
Really do recommended this place The heating was blow heaters or a couple of bars on an electric fire - no massive deal seriously as we were not cold in the slightest
- Janet (10/5): - Daithi was an exceptional host. Could not do more for us
- Katie (9/5): We had a fabulous stay here last week and would definitely recommend. The breakfast was fantastic and the bedroom was be - Fantastic breakfast, comfortable bed and bedroom, lovely bathroom, location was perfect Walls thin between our room and the next room (door between them), slight smell of cigarettes downstairs but otherwise very clean
- kate (8/5): - We attended a wedding in Fernhill house and was excellent location for being close to the wedding venue, host was very welcoming. Nothing everything was great

- Miriam (10/5): -
- Declan (10/5): -
- hugh (10/5): - Beautiful guest house, charming host and a welcoming pup. Our bed was very comfortable. The location could not have been better, it is walkable to the town yet tucked away on a very quiet, lovely street. We would definitely recommend a stay at Nordav ! Nothing

- TheJabby51 (9/5): It was a lovely place to stay. The owner was a nice fella. Very helpful. Great parking. - We weren't sure whether breakfast was included or not. We prefered to go elsewhere anyway so it wasn't an issue Almost perfect. Room a little small but really nice and comfortable
