Guest Reviews
- Yolande (10/5): A very comfortable stay, excellent host and would highly recommend. - Communication with Christina was very quick with clear instructions for finding the property, for access and, on arrival, helpful information about facilities in the property and the local area. A wonderful welcome pack of foods for breakfast and treats was provided, the cottage was spacious for the two of us and we especially liked the light conservatory. Rivendell is in a quiet road and was in a great setting for us. Christina has thought of everything that could possibly be needed for a very comfortable stay.
- Roland (10/5): - perfekt nichts
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent property owner, very accommodating - This is a quaint quite spacious property. Very clean and the lady that owns it was very accommodating. She was lovely leaving extra things for my mums guide dog. And offered to put us up for an extra night as our ferry got cancelled. We managed to get on a later one. I would highly recommend staying here.
- Chris (10/5): This place is a Gem, such a lovely house and so easy to live in. Few yards down rd pub on TT Circuit - The House has great character, lovely well equipped kitchen, we ended up cooking every night except one. Christina laid on a lovely welcome pack of food. The Outdoor space is excellent with sun most of the day. The house well set up for nice light conservatory, or cosy living room for later in evening.
Bathroom has the best shower I've experienced, so clear and easy to use, and a wonderful view through the skylight Nothing could be better !
- Glyn (10/5): Rivendell Cottage was charming, and Christina’s hospitality made our Isle of Man trip unforgettable. - We recently spent a week at Rivendell Cottage in Union Mills on the Isle of Man, and it was absolutely delightful. The cottage itself is charming and full of character — a perfect blend of comfort and quaint charm. Its location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk to the main bus stop in Union Mills, making it easy to travel between Douglas and Peel.
Christina, our host, was wonderfully welcoming and thoughtful. She greeted us with a generous selection of food, including fresh bread, which was such a lovely touch. Her hospitality really made us feel at home.
Our time on the Isle of Man was truly memorable, and staying at Rivendell Cottage made it even more special. We would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-located base for exploring the island. Nothing
- Bamber (9/5): - The beds were very comfortable. The shower was amazing! Unfortunately some of the doorways are very low.
- Stephen (8/5): Interesting cottage - Querky…..charming…..great location Parking…..this was an issue….on street parking competing with vans and neighbours plus dumped cars that have not moved in an age.
It’s also a rat run morning and afternoons……lots of fast traffic…..
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location. Superbly set up for a very comfortable stay Nothing
- Kathryn (10/5): Rivendell was a perfect home base for our explorations! - Rivendell had all the charm and coziness of a traditional cottage, but also provided a sleek modern bathroom and well equipped kitchen. There were many thoughtful little extras throughout. Christina, our host, was very friendly and helpful, having left numerous valuable and informative notes about how various things worked. She was also quickly responsive with our questions, such as connecting to the internet. We truly enjoyed our comfortable stay here and exploring the Isle of Man.
- Harriet (9/5): It was a lovely week in a very beautiful place. - The complimentary breakfast on the first day was very useful and welcoming as we didn't arrive until quite late the previous evening and didn't want to go shopping straight away. The location was very good for exploring all the different areas of the island.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place. Set out Lovely to accommodate whoever stays.
- David (10/5): Great place for four - Beautifully appointed with all necessary facilities and plenty of space for four. Handy location for Douglas attractions. Owners very helpful with plenty of notes written and easy to get hold of on phone. Very nice shower and good kitchen equipment. Just a couple of things: no dedicated parking but we were always able to park nearby and nowhere to eat out within walking distance apart from pub on corner which didn't serve food every night.
- Mark (10/5): Great place - A Quirky house old at the front new back. nice space.looking over mountain and good patio a sun trap
Loads of equipment to use .A big kitchen plus maps on the wall for days out to travel by car plus brochures local shops a pub and a short drive to Douglas. Also at the bottom of the street is the TT course so you can feel it
And a quiet place to stay Mattress too soft in back bedroom
And low door way
- Beverley (8/5): Very good - The property was well positioned for walks and local transport, with a pub within easy walking distance.
It is a quirky property, with everything we needed for our stay in the IOM. The owner was particularly efficient at responding to messages, prior to and during our stay. The mattress/bed in the eaves room wasn't great for two people as kept rolling into the middle! Cushions for the garden furniture had been left outside so were very wet when we arrived and took 2 days to dry out before we could use.
- Exaii (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (10/5): perfect relaxing and comfortable stay - everything so clean and very comfortable and so tastefully done we loved everything about it
- Janet (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyable - Christina was the perfect host and had lots of treats dotted around the house, including ingredients for our first breakfast. I loved the quirkiness of the cottage and the location was excellent for our plans around the Island. I look forward to booking another break at Rivendell Cottage.
- Karl (10/5): Exceptional -
