Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I had booked Aamod Dalhousie for 2 nights (19th - 20th Dec 2019) . As luck would have it, Dalhousie experienced heavy snowfall during that week and roads leading up to Aamod was closed to traffic as a safety measure.
I was told that the only option of reaching Aamod was by walking on foot, in ankle deep slippery snow on an uphill terrain measuring 4 to 5 Km. I would have still considered this adventurous option, but since I was travelling with a 5 Yr old kid I decided not to be foolish and decided to cancel my stay at Aamod.
Expedia clearly mentioned that the Cancellation policy is entirely upto the Hotel Management's discretion, I called them up explaining my situation. I spoke with one Mr. Rishi from their Corporate office who was very engaging and forthright sharing the information about the road closure etc. I also spoke with Front Desk at Aamod Dalhousie and told them that I wish to cancel my reservation, for which they said I need to send them a written mail request (to bookings@aamod.in) . I duly sent the mail, and waited for their response.
More than 2 weeks after sending the mail, I am yet to receive ANY response (positive or negative) from Aamod team. Absolutely disappointed by a so called respected Brand of hotel chain who pride themselves in Hospitality and Service. The issue here is not about refund, as I am fully aware to the terms that I was signing up to, I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and prompt communication.
- Madhu (4/5): - Amod is a bit far from main Dalhousie. The rooms are full and has dim lights. Washrooms are not worth what we paid. I would not return.
- Venkateswaran (8/5): Scenic and relaxing stay - We stayed at Aamod Dalhousie for 2 days in Jul'16. Dalhousie is a scenic hill station nestled in the Dauladhar range. Aamod provides comfortable and modern accommodation in this quaint and pretty hill station.
The resort is located around 8 km from the Dalhousie market along Khajjiar Road, past Dalhousie Public School and Hilltop School. The property is lush green and maintained in excellent condition. Perched at a higher altitude, Aamod provides great views of the surrounding mountains!
We stayed in the super deluxe room which was comfortable and well furnished. There was a sitting room in addition to the bedroom and bathroom.
A well functioning room heater was provided. This was of good quality and kept us warm in the monsoon season.
The restaurant is called "The Colonial" and has a British ambiance. The menu is extensive having Indian, Chinese and Continental fare. We ordered Indian items and found them to be very good.
One key thing to note is that there is no Wifi in the property. Mobile signal is also weak in the rooms and required us to come out and call.
There are plenty of activities in the hotel as well as activities they can organize for you.
Notwithstanding the many positives, we felt the price was on the higher side.
Overall a luxurious experience in Dalhousie.
