Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): - Beautiful location would highly recommend ,very clean, and will definitely be returning
- Joanne (2/5): - We came last year it was amazing beatiful very happy so decided to return . Unfortunatley this time around was not happy at all. Unfortuntley when on booking we asked for a certain lodge that we had last time ( This was empty the hole time we was there and avalible to book on bookings.com and same money and identical we just prefered the view )
We left 3 messages all not answered
One about early check in
One about having other lodge
And the other about towels.
When we arrived our jacuzzi was warm already and water was dirty ! Lots of twigs and leaves in it and honestly it looked like it had been used.
We got into it that night but it seemed cloudy and murky. So we asked the site to change the water the next day and got told the following :
I am afraid we don’t offer this service. The water should be clean enough for a 2 night stay. Please as mentioned in the instructions shower before use, it shouldn’t need a change of water today, did so thing get spilled in it?
Firstly im a clean person i do shower ! Secondly for over 175 pounds a night im sure a change of water is not to much to ask for ! It smelt like stagnant water but me and my partner perciviered and went in was only in 10 mins the smell of the water was to much and it was so horrible i got rashes on my legs and on way home our clothes stunk the car out! I HONESTLY was so dissapointed by the staff .
I was shocked to say the least we wanted to leave after day one after the text discusted . which by the way they could reply to that straight away !

- Aisha (9/5): Fab time in a lovely location - Everything! The DVD player was unfortunately broken but was quickly replaced - unfortunately the second didn't work either though :(
- Vera (9/5): Nice weekend getaway - The location is fantastic - you’re surrounded by nature, with plenty of options for hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
The pod was thoughtfully stocked with tea, coffee, and even marshmallows, along with a selection of old DVDs, card games, and chess, which was a nice touch.
We did have to wait over four hours for the hot tub to heat up (it was noted on the leaflet), but once it was ready, it was a wonderful experience - especially in the windy, cold weather. The owners do not provide extra bedding for the sofa bed (as stated on the website, and we were aware of this in advance). However, offering it as an optional paid service would be a great improvement - we would have happily paid for a second set rather than having to bring our own in our backpacks, especially since towels and bed linens are already provided for the master bed.
Although there is a sofa bed, the mattress was heavily stained, making it unusable even with our own bed sheets.
It was also surprising that no mattress protector was provided. As a result, we had to fold it away, and we slept on the sofa, which is not really long/wide enough for an adult when folder (it’s convenient it was only just 3 of us!).
Additionally, some of the plates were still dirty (despite appearing to have been recently washed as they were wet when we arrived).
- Olga (10/5): Amazing and quet ☺️pets friendly - Lovely little house

- Daisy (10/5): Perfect peaceful getaway with everything you need. - Everything.. just idyllic. Perfect little getaway. Even down to the toiletries, had shower gel, hand wash, even shampoo and conditioner. Great touch. Definitely coming back in the warmer months when a bit less muddy! But you have to expect that at this time of year. Hot tub was lovely and didn’t take too long to heat up if you do the fire correctly. Great fire pit which we done a bbq on. Very peaceful and beautiful setting. We even got Deliveroo bought to the car park there! Nothing- apart from extremely muddy outside but that cannot be helped for this time of year. Take your wellies and some slip on shoes for the decking area.
- Macey (10/5): Perfect winter weekend break - We have been coming here for around 4 years now, we love the countryside air and sea view. The cabins are snug and the log fired tub is perfect in the cold weather.🥰 The cabin was a little dusty, but we haven’t noticed that before so will take it as a one off 🙂
- Megan (8/5): Lovely couple of days away. I would recommend. Very clean, very cosy. Amazing views. - Nice cosy lodge, very clean! Nice area, loads to do around. Very quiet , lovely views!! Not enough fire lighters for the length of our stay to use the hot tub and fire. Hot tub took longer than 3 hours to get Luke warm not even hot.
- pinn (8/5): Very lovely location, would definitely recommend to others - The space of the property was great and view was amazing. Hot tub took 6 hours to get to a good heat, partially because of the bad weather
- Brad (10/5): Perfect, quiet home from home retreat with amazing views - Really quite lovely place to spend the weekend. Nothing it was just right
- Kate (8/5): Enjoyable and cosy - Really cosy ,very clean , very relaxing
Had everything you needed there ,bed was comfortable The hot tub you had to heat yourself with a fire and it took 4 hours ,would have been nice if we were contacted to see if we wanted it heated or at least start the fire before we arrived
Also the lodge was freezing when we arrived although it did heat up quickly
- Mercede (10/5): We will be revisiting next year. The most amazing experience. - The location was beautiful and the cabin was exceptional! We loved everything about it.
- Damla (10/5): Worth it! - The location of the property was great for us. Very quite really peaceful. The cabins were very comfortable and well equipped we really enjoyed the fire pit toasting marshmallows enjoying wine. Everything was wonderful. Wasnt expecting the 3 cabins to be do close to eachother but that wasnt an issue
- Mark (10/5): Lovely, tranquil location. Great views and very relaxing! - Very quiet and relaxing with amazing views. No issues.
- Tarryn (10/5): -
- Lindsay (9/5): Perfect getaway - Great little barn. Hot tub was lovely and heats quick. Fire chiminea was fab. Everything was great
- skittymiggy (9/5): Very lovely little get away - Lovely place with a pretty view. Really well insulated and warm even when there was stormy weather outside. There were 4 of us and we felt there was plenty of room. Also had our dog along who enjoyed meeting the other dogs. The hot tub was simple to use with the instructions given. Very good hob/cooker that heated up fast. We were able to hook up our DS to the TV for entertainment when it rained. The bed was roomy and comfortable. Felt we had our privacy even though there were others staying either side of us. We just used the hot tub once as we prepped it the next day and found it was smelly as no chlorine. We didn't contact to see if there was anything to be done though as the following day was bad weather anyway. Found there was a lack of hangers/hooks to hang things up, and the shower head was a bit floppy but otherwise had a really lovely stay.
- Katie (10/5): Amazing time - Very nice location, very clean tidy cabins the bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was lovely and very nice we could bring the dog We liked everything
- Maxine (9/5): Relaxing, enjoyable but there could be some improvements - Peaceful location Bedroom was a little stuffy, and could have been cleaner.
- Sintija (10/5): -
- Abigail (9/5): -
- Halina (5/5): Disappointing stay - Hot tub, wood burner, bathroom was ok The location is right next to a busy main road, and the traffic noise is significant. There is no pleasant area nearby for walks. The space itself is very small, with no wardrobe or hangers — just a few tiny shelves. In the kitchen, the fridge barely worked and there was no microwave. Cleanliness was a real issue: all cups and glasses were sticky and dirty, and we had to rewash them ourselves. The most shocking part was the duvet — on our very first night we noticed a strong smell of urine. When we removed the cover, we discovered huge stains (photo attached). Absolutely unacceptable. We ended up sleeping under a blanket we had luckily brought with us. Overall, this stay was a major disappointment and we cannot recommend it.
- Sophie (8/5): Lovely little stay. - Really cute, good location, hot tub was easy to heat up and kept warm for ages, bbq was a bonus The bed could do with updating it felt very wobbly
- Rachel (10/5): Very relaxing stay - Hot tub / fire pit Maybe clearer signs to the pods
- Cheryl (9/5): Enjoyed our time with family! - We enjoyed it very much!
Comfortable and serene. The only thing we would rate low is the beddings and pillows that did not really smell well.
The sides of the bed/matress was also full of dust which triggered my kids allergy.
- Max (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning views great facilities - had a perfect trip!
- Rebekah (8/5): Relaxing - It’s was clean, location is lovely for a getaway and the hot tub is a great addition The TV is very dated can’t even get free view I brought my fire stick but the TV is so small the HDMI wire couldn’t fit - the marshmallow jar was dirty so I didn’t eat the marshmallow
- Charlie (8/5): Very good -
- Cevn (9/5): Superb - Nice view. Quiet. Birds. Bathroom.
- Tina (3/5): Disappointed - Beautiful view from cabin I didn't like anything else. It was as far from luxurious as you could possibly get. I wouldn't stay again.
- Joanne (10/5): Amazing stay - We arrived and saw the wheelbarrow for our luggage . Everything was just clean and amazing 👏 beautiful stay hot tub the bbq the view Everything was amazing . Would of liked some sticks to roast the marshmallows 🤔 The only down side was no chlorine in the water in hot tub and water smelt funny as the hot tub lid was on overnight would of either liked fresh water or chlorine in the hot tub and more of a lounger chair instead of seats but still very highly recommended
- Cristian (9/5): Excellent for a London Escape - Pretty much everything. Could do with a new BBQ
- Olivia (9/5): A peaceful, cosy stay in a beautiful setting — we loved every minute. - The pod was spotlessly clean, cosy, and really well-equipped. The peaceful, scenic setting and thoughtful little touches made it feel extra special. We enjoy the hot tub, despite no bubbles and felt that we would really unwind. We enjoyed the marshmallows that we roasted on the fire and the sea views, made the mornings really enjoyable when having breakfast outside. Nothing major, if I had to be really picky it would be the best. I felt the mattress was quite hard with no spring to it.
- Jenny (8/5): Very good -
- Gemma (1/5): We turned up to the cabin it was dirty it smelt damp things were broken stained animal hair everywhere bbq was not clean - Nothing. We didn’t even stay there. Everything
- Caroline (8/5): relaxing, comfortable, peaceful. - view incredible. Swedish hot tub made the break The deck chairs were a bit cheap and one of them was was completely snapped through. But there were other seats to sit on and i'm sure an easy replacement job.
- Derubertis (10/5): 5 Star Ultimate Glamping - Good communication with plenty of useful information given well before our booking dates. Easy to find and a huge wheelbarrow to assist is taking all our luggage down to the cabin. When we got to our cabin we realised that we needn't have brought so much with us. They had provided so much more than we ever expected ... from complimentary showers gels right down to the hot chocolate and marshmallows.
Very clean and cosy both inside and out.
Plenty of logs and kindling to keep both the hot tub and Chimnea burning.
Views were stunning and privacy was perfect.
Literally had such a fantastic weekend away. Very relaxing and so much fun was had.
We all agreed we would book again. It's hard to think of anything negative to be entirely honest. The weekend was simply amazing and our friendly neighbours in the next cabin along also seemed to be very impressed and happy too.
So if I had to say anything negative it would be that I wish I had booked an extra night , and that's on me !
- Chiara (8/5): Very good -
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (8/5): Very good - The location and views at the lodge are lovely, we were lucky with the weather which of course helped. The cabins have a good amount of privacy, but are fairly close together and some cabins had more privacy than others. The facilities were good and had everything you needed for a short stay. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners dogs, which was lovely for our dog up until one of them dropped off their business right outside on our green area. My only feedback would be around the hot tub, the lid needs replacing as it’s crumbling and these then leaves lots of debris in the tub itself, so we only ended up using the tub once. The hot tub itself is really easy to heat up, and doesn’t take long at all. The facilities were clean but the bedding, although clean, had a damp smell to it.
If you want to use the bbq I would suggest bringing a disposable to put on top of the chiminea, although you could use the small griddle on top of this that’s provided.
We really liked the location & the hot chocolate/marshmallow station that was provided! This was a nice touch.
- Amir (10/5): Exceptional - Clean , comfortable, good amenities and nice place
- Synikka (8/5): Very good - Complete facilities, good location. Bed Linens were not as neat as and not enough blanket provided.
- Osman (6/5): Pleasant -
- Laura (9/5): Great stay at Barnhorn, fab location to see Hastings & Rye - Lovely cabin, great facilities! Loved the hot tub and outdoor space! Cheap bedding and uncomfortable sofa
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - This was a great quiet break hot tub was clean and felt like we had a good amount of privacy
- Shannen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (6/5): Very relaxing and so close to being perfect - The cabin was great and very well designed. Very comfortable and clean which i appreciate must be hard in that location. Facilities inside the cabin were great When you spend nearly £200 per night for a cabin with a hot tub and check in is at 4pm, you expect to be able to get in the hot tub on the first day. Being told the fire isn’t efficient and offering no help other than a video - or eventually offering a person to look who never shows up is not helpful. We only ended up being able to use the hot tub for one day
- Lyndon (10/5): perfect , everything you need for a relaxing stay - location was perfect for our trip , lovely view , great to relax
- Tamara (7/5): Cosy, relaxing, quiet. - Very cosy cabin, generally clean and well looked after. Hot tub was lovely, the owners kindly pre heated it for us so that we were able to get in as soon as we'd arrived. Views were lovely, although being February and rainy/cloudy I'm sure it'd be even better in the Summer.
The hot chocolate sachets and marshmallows were a nice touch, and the DVDs/board games were a good idea as there is no WiFi which was no issue for us at all :) I think tea towels should've been provided as guests would need to wash up their used cups, plates and cutlery at some stage.
A huge thing we thought was odd is that there was no lighting to get to the lodges, we used a torch we keep in the car. I've seen a lot of reviews saying the same thing and wonder why this hasn't been sorted yet or perhaps if it isn't allowed for some reason.
The hot tub really really needs a paddle to be able to stir the hot water around as it's heating, and a new hot tub cover is required.
A couple of the glasses in the cupboard were sticky and dirty so we washed those up before use.
If it were possible I think it would be a benefit to have some sort of shelter over the hot tub, that doesn't block the chimnea that heats it of course, as when it rained it reduced the time we got to spend in the tub and added cold water to the hot tub.
Finally, you'd definitely be better off providing the cabin with a big door mat, as trekking across muddy grass/pathway to get to the cabin did mean our shoes were coated in mud and this inevitabley got inside the cabin.
Overall, I think for the price (we paid £298 for 2 nights) it could have some added bits as I've suggested above to make it more worth the money.
We would stay again in the summer, purely for the view and the vibes.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!!! No lights on the pathway to the cabin.
- Lis (10/5): Cosy, peaceful, beautiful views, close to the beach - Super homely, lovely and warm, great views, fabulous wood fired hot tub, yummy marshmallow toasting in the chimnea, super peaceful, great hosts. Highly recommend ❤️ N/A
- Jessica (10/5): A romantic new years eve - The accommodation is perfectly fitted out with all that you need and the hot tub is amazing. Nothing it was perfect.
- Cox (10/5): Magical stay - I liked the cosiness and how friendly the owners were Lack of cleaning supplies
No fairy lights
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (10/5): Great experience of the outdoors camping in style great location clean facilities loved it 🏕️ - Great location clean site great experience loved the cabin Location hot tub privacy outdoors
- Samantha (9/5): Superb -
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): Fab - Cosy, well stocked with anything that could be needed for a simple stay, very clean and comfortable. Loved it had heating and kitchen appliances and the hot tub was very nice. Nothing, we missed the note about extra wood at the back of our cabin (which was our fault) but could be made clearer for clowns like us aha!
- Natalia (9/5): Superb -
- Leanne (8/5): Very good - Lovely cabin, location was ideal to visit a few local attractions and beaches. Very quiet and peaceful.
Our children enjoyed the DVD’s and games. A gravel path to the/around the cabins would be better than the mulch/bark.
- Julija (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (8/5): Very good - Nice space, cosy. Matches for fires stored outside so damp and didn't work.
Quite expensive for the season.
- Io (10/5): Lovely getaway - Cute little lodge with a sea view! Had a lovely birthday weekend. This place might not be suitable for young kids because the lodge is quite far from the car park.
- Chloe (10/5): Amazing - Everything, it was amazing!! location was perfect beautiful weather the cabin it self was so cute and very well equipped absolutely lovely owners even the animals was lovely would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to get away for some peace and quiet
- Leanne (9/5): Fantastic get away! Highly recommend! - Fantastic cabins, gorgeous view! Hot tubs were fab! Communication was excellent with the hosts. They pre-heated the hot tubs which was very much appreciated. Hot chocolate with marshmallows was a nice touch. Website gives very accurate description of what to expect. Needed oven gloves or tea towels.
Separate entrance not clear if you have food deliveries.
- Ewelina (7/5): Great for one night away - Nice location , really great surroundings close to Eastbourne. Nice for a one night as you can’t change the water in the hot tab as the place you draining the water from the hot tab locked by the owner . After second day water stinks and it’s not enjoyable. Also there is no bedding for the third person in my case child despite paying for the extra person witch I found it quite bizarre. You have only only chimney bbq and that was a problem when was raining. Take your own bbq with you if you have it would be much better option.
- Tommy (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely stay - The views Building work going on next to site which was a shame and didn't provide enough kindling for hot tub
- Lily (8/5): Very good - The location was lovely Noting
- Hosam (4/5): Fair but not recommend - Place , quite , view No TV signal
No WiFi
No fresh linen we had to sleep on same linen for the 4 nights
Not easy to teach the hut need to use wheel barrel
- Eleanor (9/5): The perfect place to chill and reset - Gorgeous area, very easy to get too! V private V hot inside the cabin due to the weather but we brought a fan with us which helped a lot! Worth it for the weather
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siobhan (10/5): Exceptional - So peaceful, so comfy, soooo clean! Loved the hot tub (once we got better at making a fire 🤣) and it was a perfect relaxing experience!! We can't wait to come back! All good!
- Wilcox (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved everything about it. We even had visits from the hosts dogs which was lovely as they were so friendly and loved our dog too. Quiet location and easy to find. Great hot tub. We all used it.. several times.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Macey (10/5): I have been 4 or 5 times now and plan to go back again in the future. I love it - I love the remote area and peacefulness. Cara has thought of everything and paid attention to detail. The hut has everything you would need for a night or two away.
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location, nice parking. Very clean inside and out. Really well looked after and set on such a beautiful estate. We couldn't pick a fault even if we really tried.
- Melissa (9/5): It was a treat night away with my friend so perfect to relax hot tub was pre heated which meant we could make the most o - It was a gorgeous cosy cabin that had lovely views
- Ryan (10/5): Best place I've been too in a long time - Honestly this is a slice of paradise extremely lovely area really cool concept very homely I would recommend to anyone looking for time away very clean very easy to stay only stayed a week but could of stayed for two! Nothing at all
- Tara (10/5): Lovely short break, would definitely go again and have recommended to family and friends. - We loved that the location was excluded with pretty views and a sea view too! The cabin was beautiful, it had everything you’d need. The hot tub was great, easy to use and easy to get a fire going to roast marshmallows in the evenings. Nothing we didn’t like.
- Joshua (9/5): Superb -
- Keeley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kianna (8/5): Very good -
- Kimberley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brown (2/5): Poor owners, nice place. - Good place to stay in overall. Address was wrong. Got stuck on the other farm and when called the owners for help they stated that there was nothing they could do and it was my problem. Felt very much like they didn't really care. Had to pay £150 and couldn't get my car back till the next day.
When we finally got there the pathway was unclear and overly muddy. Lost out of being able to do much cause the owners we're so unhelpful. Me and partner had a good time but all in we lost out of being able to do some much more cause of poor owner ship.
- Alistair (9/5): Superb -
- Paige (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (10/5): Amazing weekend . Thank you ! - Had a fantastic time here, the log cabin was so clean and had everything you needed. Was worried it would be a little cold because of the time of year but it was so warm and cozy. The shower was lovely and the little kitchenette had everything you could need . The hot tub was superb , gazing up at stars till midnight even in this weather was magical, we added more wood and it was still hot in the morning so we could watch the sun rise while drinking our coffee. I loved the hot chocolate and marshmallows that was supplied for you , it just added to glamping feeling, such a beautiful touch.
Would highly recommend, can’t wait to go back .
- Libby (9/5): comfy and cozy. - Private, lots of activities, hot tub. a more lit up pathway
- Gillam (10/5): Exceptional - Its was beautiful. Would definitely go again. Everything
- Rachel (10/5): Pretty little place - View was beautiful, quiet. I went in poor weather but I bet it's lovely in summer The direction towards to cabins is a bit confusing. But once we worked it out, it was down a little track at the side of the farm house.
The cabins are very overlooked by each other. If you want privacy, you're unlikely to get it.
- Lois (9/5): Amazing value for money and very special place! - This is a perfect getaway! Really good value for money. The cabin has everything you need (everything has been thought of). Very clean and well done/ modern. Super cosy and warm and the bed was so soft and comfy!
The hot tub is worth calling up and asking for it to be pre-heated as when we got there we had to spend about hour getting it really hot. But it is lovely!
The path to the cabins is very muddy! So definitely bring wellies.
Lovely stay and a gem! I will definitely be back The path to the cabins is very muddy! So definitely need wellies.
You have to walk on the grass in places but that is also very boggy. It is also quite hard to see in the dark where you are going.
- Meisam (4/5): If you can go there in good weather and without contacting that female staff, you can enjoy the hot tub, which is the on - The At first, we couldn't find the location of the cabin and when I called her, she answered with an aggressive manner when I expected her to guide us as guests respectfully.
The path to get to the cabin was almost long and due to the rain was muddy. So, it was annoying and difficult to carry stuff from the car to the cabin by using a wheelbarrow.
For facilities: The electric kettle was leaking, and the heater was on Eco Mode which turned off twice at night and caused us to wake up twice from the cold, and when I turned it on, it turned off again after almost an hour because of that eco mode and couldn't be changed.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anton (7/5): Good -
