Guest Reviews
- desley (10/5): I can’t thank you enough for being so kind and generous - The heritage of the building, clean, spacious room with balcony and central location. No blind in bathroom
- Gregory (10/5): Timeless luxury. - Beautifully restored historic two story house with antique adornments. My wife loved the spring bed.
There is a shared kitchen, expansive upstairs verandah and a large lounge room. The river and walking path is only 100m away, as is a new public pool and maritime museum. A little further and there are a wide variety of restaurants, pubs and shops. Nothing
- Robert (7/5): - Whilst it is a very comfortable establishment, it is not for me as I prefer to have all facilities in the bedroom eg, tea/coffee making, toaster, fridge etc. I do not want to have to go to shared facilities as nice as they were, to make a cup of tea.
- Maree (8/5): Suited my requirements - Cleanliness Noise from main Road
- Sarah (10/5): Delightful and ideal - Lovely old house. Very comfortable rooms and charming communal areas. Good walking location to great cafes and restaurants. Staff were very helpful.
- Todd (10/5): -
- Ange (9/5): Home away from home. - Beautiful place to spend the weekend.
A very comfortable house with access to a kitchen with breakfast provisions.
Great communication with hosts.
Great place to relax. A little issue with water pressure build up but the hosts fixed it promptly.

- Willett (10/5): Perfect , a credit to the owners. - A excellent property indeed . Ticked every box . Spotless, comfy , homely and tons of charm . Will definitely stay again . Nothing it’s a ten / ten
- Jennifer (10/5): I would recommend this boutique hotel with only 5 rooms to anyone as it was walking distance to the river, pool and many - The old world style combined with modern conveniences. We had room one on the first floor and we were able to leave open the door to the our private balcony and the bathroom window which both had screens and produced a pleasant cool coastal breeze into the room. As my husband was unwell I was able to enjoy the lounge/dining room all to myself as I relaxed and read in front of the television. The access to the kitchen and its coffee machine and cereals was an added bonus. Nothing
- Clinton (9/5): Comfortable and stylish -
- Daniel (10/5): Stylish and classy - Classy, superb
- Ann (8/5): Lovely peaceful stay on beautiful historic property - Great areas to sit outside on the veranda or lounge area. You don’t feel like you are stuck is a small room like a lot of accommodation!! Great kitchen facilities!

- Naomi (9/5): Very quiet and relaxing house with plenty of seating on the verandahs - There was access to hot water for tea both upstairs and in the dining room downstairs and the rooms were spacious and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and lots of choice of pillows and bedding

- John (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is there to make guests comfortable. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Communal lounge and kitchen has everything (including various cereals) you'd need to make a stay easy. The extensive renovations all tastefully suit the atmosphere of the building. Spotlessly clean. Just a few minutes walk to the coffee shops and restaurants. Loved it.

- Larry (10/5): Exceptional - Truthfully, I just had a very wonderful experience the night I stayed there. It was just random, but it was a wonderful night. So I'll always have a great memory of your place. Not taking anything away from your questions in the survey though. It was lovely.
- Lucille (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): We had a fabulous time and loved our stay at Riversleigh House. - Beautiful old house. Great to have the kitchen and appreciated the milk, cereals and tea and coffee. Hosts were very kind and very helpful - the lift to the bus stop for Bluesfest when we were running very late due to traffic was above and beyond.
- Feim (10/5): Exceptional - Acommodating after hours.
- Diann (8/5): Suited my purpose abd a bit sad the lively open air cafe not functioning after Covid and managed externally. - Position and traditional Victorian feel A little run down from my previous stay after renovations

- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Nice clean facilities. Friendly owners.
- Patricia (9/5): Lovely stay- we’ll be back - Great location, beautifully renovated historic home. Nothing- all good
- Peter (9/5): The guest Drawing Room is a great place to read, as are the upper level and ground floor verandahs - It's a great location and very safe, an easy walk away from many attractions, less than a 100m from the river. Nil.
- Kath (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (9/5): Delightful accommodation well recommended. - Location is very convenient to town centre and amenities. Riversleigh House is a charming old world establishment with many original features. Its verandas were ideal for sitting down to meals and relaxing in cool river breezes. Kitchen was well stocked with condiments, spreads and breakfast foods. It would have been nice to meet management. There was some traffic noise, but not sufficient to interrupt sleep.
- Olivia (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable and felt at home
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Glenn (9/5): Superb -
- Rod (10/5): I would highly recommend this property. - I liked the check in system. I loved the kitchen facility. It was perfect
- Michael (9/5): Superb - It's a lovely building, well renovated to modern standards while maintaining its original character and charm. Really nice and spacious room, leading out to the wonderful wrap-around balcony with views to the river. The traffic noise! Unfortunately it can be quite noisy with all the cars travelling on River Rd, especially during most of the day and in the evening. This makes sitting on the balcony less pleasurable.
- Sandy (6/5): Unfortunately we arrived in the middle of a rainstorm and got wet trying to get our luggage inside. The building is very - Quiet Stairs
- Bigelow (9/5): A lovely place to stay. Full of character and atmosphere - I loved staying in a home that was built over 150 years ago. The character of the home from that era has been well maintained. It was clean, well appointed and central to local restaurants and shopping centre. Nothing really
- Nicodemus (8/5): Worth it. - The location is close to town centre. No space in the room to work on my laptop.
- Donna (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again - Beautifully finished and well maintained historic house close to town centre Nothing! Loved everything about it
- Barry (9/5): Pleasantly surprised at finding such a gem - The room was a good size and very well appointed .The kitchen facilities were very good Nothing to report
- Henry (10/5): One of the best in Ballina. - I have stayed at Riversleigh twice now while in Ballina.
If you want a home/room away from home, this is your place. Well presented heritage house, pin access.
I stayed in room 2, which is the best at this accommodation, which has full veranda with seating.
Great clean and well presented communal kitchen, pod coffee machine, supplied cereals, fridge, etc. There is a supermarket close if supplies are needed.
Walking distance to restaurants and pubs.
Will stay again. Room 2 or room 1.
Other rooms, no balcony.
This place would be suitable for family or friends get together, as every room has an ensuite.
Great lounge downstairs. Nothing, but parking is in the side street (safe)
- Suzanne (9/5): Ambience - Lovely ambience of an early 20th century large house.
Furniture was sympathetic to the period. Common kitchen was very useful.
I wish modern houses had bedrooms as large as this one. I am a gardener & would like to see the small front garden cultivated further to match the period as well.
For winter stays, perhaps a blanket as well as a doona on the bed would be more adaptable during changes in temperature overnight.
- Mark (10/5): We will stay again. - A beautifully restored mansion, scrupulously clean,in an ideal location, comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. The fact that it’s not on my block of land.
- Bruce (7/5): Very convenient for town so easy walking access to everything - We’ve stayed at property before so we wanted to stay again Room was very cold but we did choose to stay in the winter
- Duncan (9/5): Superb - The room was spacious. Beds were comfortable and nice pillows. Check in easy.
- Actodorovic (10/5): Exceptional - The location is great. The room is large and a great veranda. The kitchen was well appointed with a coffee pod machine, milk in the fridge, and a pack of Tim Tams. Thank you. The front door is not closed at night.I understand there is a security screen with a code.
- Lynne (7/5): Little bit disappointing. - Nice big room.
I stayed here 10 years ago and again 4 years ago. It was very beautiful and very luxurious. Sadly the standards have changed over the years. There were stains on the rug in our room plus the curtains and windows were dirty. 😢😢😢😢
Erica was an excellent host. Very responsive.
- Dawn (8/5): Very good - Everything.. Unique and so convenient we want to come stay longer next trip.. Nothing
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- James (9/5): Very comfortable nights accommodation. - The Riversleigh had everything that was needed. Nothing
