• Nathalie (4/5): - Lage war sehr gut. Extrem ringhörig. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Bad, wenn man das Klo gespült hat kam Wasser aus dem Duschabfluss. Mal hat das Klo auch während dem benutzen gespritzt/gepühlt. Dass war sehr eklig. Der Abfluss hat ausserdem gestunken.

Looks exactly like the photos. Good value for money. Very hot water in shower. There was no shutters on the window above the bed, so I felt that people in building across could look in - if they had their blinds open, which they didn't. But it did let in the light early in the morning. A little noisy, but to be expected based on location.

• Stephanny (6/5): - Las camas son cómodas y grandes. La ubicación es central puedes desplazarte caminando. El baño es un poco viejo, la habitación no tenía mucha iluminación, olía un poco a humedad y a pesar de tener ventanas cerradas, se escuchaba mucho el ruido de afuera.

When you flush it, the toilet keeps dripping water. Upon entering the room on the first night, an obnoxious smell was obvious. A quick investigation revealed the source - the fridge been turned off and contained rotten food from the previous guest. I would’ve expected the staff to sort that out when preparing the room for check-in rather than me doing it myself.

• Reina (3/5): Falta de privacidad y riesgos de accidente y caídas - La ubicación excelente, área segura,sábanas,toallas y edredón muy limpio aunque en 3 noches que estuve nunca las cambiaron .Baño limpio pero solo había 2 sobres de gel de baño y no hay shampoo. Nunca vi al recepcionista para preguntar alguna orientación o sugerencia pq solo estaba de 2 a 5 de la tarde. Escuché conversación en el pasillo o habitaciones de los lados a altas horas y temprano en la mañana. Mi ventana no tenía cortina, falta de privacidad total pq las ventanas del edificio de enfrente me veían todo el tiempo. La entrada del edificio no tiene luz así subi las escaleras a oscuras hasta llegar a la puerta de la recepción, algo muy grave y estuve casi al accidentarme con una caída además durante 2 días dejaron sacos de materiales de construcción en la esquina de la escalera. No volveré ni lo recomiendo a nadie.

La ragazza della reception è stata super disponibile Le camere sono al primo e terzo piano senza ascensore, e non mi sembra che questa informazione ci sia su booking. Ai messaggi su booking non mi è stato risposto se non dopo un po' con l'invio di un messaggio preimpostato per le istruzioni di accesso alla struttura. Prima di chiamare il numero fisso della reception ho provato a chiamare e messaggiare il numero di cellulare riportato su booking ma non mi hanno risposto.

• Adele (8/5): Er war O.K. - Es gab nur am Wochenende den Straßenlärm von den Feiernden. Von den Nachbarn hörte ich gar nichts. Das Bett war gut ,, die Bettdecke auch . Abends wurde geheizt. Es funktionierte vor allem der Zimmerschlüssel ( Karte ) ausgezeichnet. Die Lage war sicher hervorragend und auch die Zimmergröße war sehr gut. Das Duschwasser war auf der Stelle sehr warm. Es war auch alles sehr sauber. Der Fernsehapparat hätte programiert gehört. er funktionierte nicht. Badezimmer : Die Armaturen beim Waschbecken wackelten ein wenig und auch die Klomuschel war wackelig. Das Hinunterspülen im WC war extrem laut , sodass ich das nachts nicht mehr tat. Helle Möbel hätten mir besser gefallen. Das Zimmer war trotz den vielen Fenster dunkel.
• Senchi_ (7/5): great location. - This was booked as an unexpected stay; the location saved the day. Communication related to self-check-in worked well.The place is clean. Overall, good stay and to mention again, fantastic location. Yet there were a few challenges to address. First, the electricity plug is old, and I could not plug in and charge my laptop. Second, the room was a bit cramped. The furniture is old. I mean, the challenge was not with the furniture per se, but the room was not very functional because of it. With a bit of internal design and a better arrangement of the furniture, the room will gain in airiness. Further, the bed was not the most comfortable. Might be a good idea to invest in a new mattress?

The sound isolation is pretty much inexistent both within the apartment complex and to the outside. The rooms would benefit from some upgrades: the shower temperature is prone to large fluctuation; the room (while reasonably sized) are arranged badly so that it feels small. Temperature was fine thanks to heating (visit in April) but I would worry about that aspect during weather not as mild.

• Staro (8/5): Bello per un weekend non impegnativo - La struttura è perfetta alle esigenze di un piccolo viaggio. L'insonorizzazione delle camere è impeccabile, infatti nonostante l'albergo sia locato in una zona molto viva (sia di notte che di giorno), non siamo mai stati disturbati. Inoltre cosa caratteristica è il buonissimo profumo per ambienti che ci ha positivamente colpiti non appena siamo arrivati. Pulizia ottima e servizi presenti come in descrizione su Booking. Purtroppo la reception è prevalentemente inattiva. Sia al checkin che al checkout abbiamo dovuto aspettare diverso tempo che uno dei dipendenti arrivasse. La situazione era tale che al checkout, per evitare di perdere tempo, siamo andati via e abbiamo dovuto poi inviare un bonifico successivamente.

De kamers zijn ook prachtig (maar ook gehorig en aan de kleine kant.) Het personeel (wanneer aanwezig) is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamers zijn gehorig en aan de kleine kant. Het is echt ingewikkeld om de wc door te trekken, al staat op een bordje uitgelegd hoe het systeem werkt. Het probleem is: soms werkt het wel, en soms niet. Onhandig.

• Josef (4/5): - Checkin was closed and no one respond to phone. There are rooms numbered with the same numbers in at least two levels. I had difficulty to find the right one. However it was my fault because I've don't read the instructions carefully.
• Emma (6/5): - For the price paid, the hotel was incredible: really good location, your own bathroom with great shower water pressure, lovely decor & wall frescos. Everything was clean and the bed was comfy. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place if not for the limited contact hours, which put me in a bind when I arrived in the evening and found out my code for the room didn't work. It caused me a lot of stress since the front desk WhatsApp is only available in the afternoon and my texts/calls did not reach them, so I was thinking I'd need to book another hotel. Thankfully the Italian couple staying next door managed to get a hold of them and they passed on the correct code via the phone, but I never received acknowledgment or an apology for the mistake which soured the stay a little. Also note the soundproofing is non-existent (loud snorer from one bedroom next door and a crying baby from the other, plus lots of spillover noise from the bars opposite), but there's not much the hotel can do about this since it's an old building in a busy neighbourhood - best to bring earplugs!

• Attila (7/5): - The hotel is located in a central area, with compact and simply furnished rooms. The corridor is adventurously winding, with interesting paintings on the walls :). Entry is automated. We spent two separate nights at the hotel, in two different rooms. The first night was quiet; the windows probably faced a calmer street. On the second night, the window opened onto a somewhat noisier street, and there was a lot of noise coming from the upstairs neighbor, which woke us up. Another issue is parking: it’s not possible to park on the street or in the surrounding area. In theory, you might find a spot a bit farther away, but it’s almost impossible. You have to use the nearby San Giusto parking garage, which is quite expensive.

• Juan Manuel (1/5): Asking to pay outside booking.com via WhatsApp - they let me outside - I was at Hotel Portacavana during the check-in window, at 23:00, no one was there to open, no one was picking up the phone, and a very rude staff member, Ilaria, was asking me to enter my personal and financial (card) information in a platform outside booking.com in very bad manners. Since I refused to do that, she denied entrance to the property. She insisted that I should contact them via WhatsApp instead of via the official booking.com chat. Again, they didn't pick up the phone and there was no-one at the property to receive us, even if we were at the property within the advertised check-in time windows. In the end we stayed at "Locanda alle Beccherie", where a staff member immediately picked up the phone, accepted the payment through booking.com, and verified our identity via a tablet installed at the entrance of the propery. Really professional. LOCANDA ALLE BECHERIE, for 3E more we got an amazingly clean spacious room with professional and friendly staff + breakfast included (cookies and coffee).

• Alejandra (7/5): - La camera era piccola ma funzionale, lo staff molto disponibile. La location è molto comoda per raggiungere qualsiasi parte del centro di Trieste a piedi. Il bagno fuori della stanza è stato sempre pulito. Le finestre erano molto piccole e appena entraba luce, il letto singolo era un po troppo stretto per me. Le pareti sono molto fine e sentivo gli ospiti accanto, anche lo scarico del bagno e l'acqua. Ma per qualità-prezzo, e visto che è in centro, è una situazione normale.
