- Rhian (10/5): A beautiful stay in a beautiful location - Our stay at Headson Farmhouse was spot on. The house is beautiful in a remote and quiet location but within 20 minute access to Okehampton, 45 minutes from Widemouth and Bude and less and an hour from the Eden project and on the doorstep of Dartmoor. Whilst it id not a location for visiting without a car it's well worth a visit. Headson house was described as something straight out of Jane Austin and it didn't disappoint. Its perfect for a quiet trip, nature watching or as a base came to explore Devon and Cornwall. David is renovating the house and the upstairs is not accessible but there was so much room for a family of 6 (and more) and we never felt overcrowded, the photos do not do it justice. Whilst it is being renovated the care David is putting into the property is clear and we cannot wait to see how the property evolves. There was little we didn't like, the relaxing spaces could potentially do with more seating as one sofa and chair did not accommodate 6, but we have small children who were happy on dining room chairs or the floor. The shower is deceptively powerful and a longer shower screen would be wise to prevent the swimming pool effect on the floor but it's only minor. David was always happy to respond to any queries we had and we couldn't have asked for more.
