• Susann (1/5): Leckeres Essen, nette Atmosphäre, aber Vorsicht, hier wird geklaut!! - Also ich hätte diesem Hostel von der Atmosphäre her gerne eine 10 gegeben. Obwohl die Zimmer recht abgewohnt und muffig sind, habe ich mich hier sehr wohlgefühlt. Es ist ein kleines, sehr familiäres Hostel, mit einer kleinen Dachterrasse. Annette ist eine unheimlich großzügige, warmherzige Gastgeberin. Man isst zusammen, kommt sehr leicht mit anderen ins Gespräch. Ich empfehle auch sehr, dass Abendessen mitzubuchen, da es wirklich sehr, sehr lecker ist. Habe hier viele tolle Menschen kennengelernt und es ist eine sehr schöne Stimmung. !!! Aber - als ich bei meinem nächsten Reiseziel ankam, habe ich festgestellt, dass gefühlt die Hälfte meiner Klamotten gefehlt hat, mind. 10 Teile. Ich war am Anfang meiner Reise und alle meine warmen Klamotten waren weg. Ziemlich beschissen! Zu dem Zeitpunkt war ich der einzige weibliche Gast im Hostel und ausser mir im Frauen- Schlafsaal war nur das Mädchen, dass im Hostel gearbeitet hat. Ich möchte jetzt niemanden beschuldigen, ohne es 100 % beweisen zu können, aber ich möchte eindringlich davor warnen, Sachen nicht einzuschliessen. Es gibt im Zimmer große Locker für Rucksäcke und extra kameraüberwachte auf dem Flur- wahrscheinlich auch nicht ohne Grund. Ich habe mich leider von der familiären Stimmung täuschen lassen und meinen Rücksack nicht eingeschlossen, nur die Wertsachen. Ich muss sagen, mich hat das echt schockiert. Ich reise viel, aber sowas ist mir noch nie passiert. Dass ich tagelang mit jemandem esse, rede, lache, am Tisch sitze, im Zimmer schlafe , das ist menschlich so ekelhaft. Ich habe es dem Hostel gemeldet und die Art und Weise wie damit umgegangen wird, ist für mich absolut inakzeptabel, vielleicht ist das dann auch ein Verständigungsproblem. Wenn ich Mitarbeiter im Zimmer der Gäste schlafen lasse und die sich ständig darin aufhalten, dann muss ich so einen Fall auch richtig untersuchen. Spricht nicht unbedingt für dieses Hostel! Man kommt leicht mit anderen

The location is good going up you can go to the center there is a lot of restaurants things to do take a tourist bus...going down you can go to the beach...the hostes Annette was very nice help me with a lot things. She cooked a delicious breakfast cheese sandwich cakes etc etc you can eat all day also is close to a bus station take you to the airport...in the roof is a space for relaxing...it is very nice.

• Chimainski (10/5): Ótima experiência de estadia em Montevideo Hostel. - Excelente custo benefício do local, é próximo a Av. 18 de Júlio, tem lugares para comer bem pertinho, casa de câmbio a uma quadra dali, e acesso facilitado ao transporte público para ir a outros pontos turísticos da cidade. Annette, que é a dona do hostel, me recebeu super bem e de forma calorosa, Lurdes, que é a outra staff, também um amor de pessoa. Ambiente limpo e com uma boa infraestrutura. No total são 4 andares, ambiente com cozinha super bem equipada para quem deseja preparar seu próprio alimento, e o café da manhã com bastante variedade de comidas, podendo repetir a hora que quiser. Recomendo muito este hostel para quem procura visitar Montevidéu e estar em um lugar estratégico para se locomover. Nenhum ponto a descrever sobre este item. Experiência muito boa.

Elle vous accueille comme un membre de sa famille et prend soin de vous chaque jour qui passe. Le logement est propre, confortable. Il y a une fontaine à eau accessible et le petit-déjeuner à disposition à n'importe quelle heure. Vraiment une des meilleures auberges où je suis restée (et je voyage en road trip sac à dos 55 pays). • Andrius LTU (8/5): Very good - Good location. Breakfast was really nice including eggs, cereals and other stuff. There always was some fruits to eat. Big table and area to hang out and meet other travelers. Owner cooked delicious desserts and we got pizzas one evening. Rooms do not have A/C so it was quite hot. Because of that room keeps open windows to the street which becomes quite loud in the morning. Also different facilities are located in different floors, so there is some climbing forth and back (for me it wasn't a problem, but should be consider if that's a case for someone else).

• Michelle (10/5): Would recommend completely - Breakfast was great. You had eggs you could make however you wanted with full use of the kitchen. Annette also make home made bread and pastries. She also had a spread of cheeses and meats. And some cereals and crackers. Tea, coffee etc. everything was also available after breakfast hours for you to eat throughout the day. Montevideo is very walkable so we walked everywhere, the location was great. Also very close to the bus if you were going a further distance. The female dorms were clean and spacious. It had space to hang clothes to air dry. They had sizable lockers for your important items and small luggage. Annette is also always present and available if you need anything. She also tried to let us know if any activities happening in town. And the bathrooms were clean. I wonder if the hostel was a little more full if the fact that there was only 1 female shower and toilet on our floor if that would have been more of a problem, but it wasn’t very full when we stayed so it was not a problem. Truly nothing.

Aprendi cosas ahí que llevaré por toda mi vida, y mamá (como hablo a la dueña) es el amor en formato de persona, fue como viajante perdida y salí de allá calma, amada. • Riko (8/5): - The hostel has lots of space, a nice common area and a terrace. It is well located in a quiet part of Montevideo and it is really safe. The beds are comfortable and the owner and the other guests were really nice. The bathrooms on the first floor are not really nice, they were clean but they looked more like hospital bathrooms. The ones on the second floor looked nicer but unfortunately they were out of order.

• Helen (9/5): Superb - Montevideo hostel feels like you're being welcomed into someone's home. Not only the look and feel of the place but the way you are treated by the host, it is such a lovely place to stay. The breakfast is the best I've had in my 3 months travelling (lots of sweet and savoury options and loads of it, so much more than the classic cereal and bread) and there's even cake left out mid-afternoon. The beds are very comfortable and it has a good seating area to socialise so it's good for solo travelers too. Not so much a 'didn't like' but the kitchen is very small and there's not much surface space to cook anything but you can make do. Location is also 20mins walk from the bus station and also 20-30mins from the old town but I think that's more down to the layout of Montevideo as the bus station and old town are at opposite ends of the city. It's more on the expensive side compared to other hostels which I think is down to the breakfast supplied so definitely make the most of that when you stay.

Breakfast is plentiful, toast, cereal, fruit, juices and eggs available if you want to cook them and tea/coffee. For me the location isn’t great. It was 30 minutes to walk to the old town and the bus terminal and the Punta Carreras shopping. You might therefore say it’s central but I would rather have a base that is close to something. Also my room was at the front of the property and had quite a lot of street noise but I’m a light sleeper. But for these two things, I would be giving a 10 rating.

• Mary (8/5): It's like living with your favorite aunty! - Hostel is a family home. Annette bakes a treat every day and puts it in the dining room. Also, she provides bananas, apples, crackers, an orange drink and other food for free during the day. I think all the beds have their own light and outlet to charge your devices. There is a cold water dispenser on the second floor. The lockers are big enough for even a big backpack, and they are lockable. I liked the little balcony near my room, but it was used by smokers. Carpet in my room at least, was old and dusty/dirty, but the bare floors in the rest of the house were beautiful. Bathroom had old hair brushes, combs, toothbrushes and other things on the shelf. The shower was in the same little stall as a toilet (see photo), so kind of a tight squeeze.

• Miles (6/5): Fantastic hostal but be very wary of location - Fantastic owner, amazing amazing hospitality. Clean showers and facilities. Comfortable beds. The main thing driving the low rating is that You should be aware this hostal is located in an unsafe area of the city (two locals confirmed this). There are homeless camps next door to the hostal playing music until late. I felt unsafe walking back alone even as a tall man. • Terrence (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel is centrally located so you can walk to just about everything and spacious with generous common areas. The best feature of this hostel are your hosts. She will help you figure everything out and treat you like family and feed you like family. Fresh pastries every day, fruits, sandwiches, coffee, juice etc. Did I mention awesome arroz con leche? If your a musician, there is a guitar and a piano which was a welcome bonus for me. 6 stars. Lol 😆💕

O atendimento é ótima e os espaços se convivência são o que faz a diferença. Sempre um café e frutas para motivar uma boa conversa com pessoas de diferentes partes do planeta. • Paul (10/5): A very enjoyable stay at the Montevideo hostel - I loved it here,a very comfortable hostel in a nice safe area. Annette is such a lovely host,she makes everyone feel so welcome and is up very early to provide guests with a lovely breakfast buffet. When you arrive back in the evening,there is always freshly homemade cakes and snacks available.

• Tyke3080 (10/5): I would like to give 12 out of 10! - After 2 nights here I had put on half a kilo! One of my top hostels worldwide. Annette was so welcoming from the second I walked through the door. Tea, coffee, fruit juice, toast, and fresh fruit available 24/7. And cake! So much cake! And croque Monsieur for breakfast. And a big hug when I left Only 1 toilet/shower per sex per floor. Wasn't an issue when I stayed though.
• Simon (10/5): Exceptional - The host Annette is absolutely amazing! She is running the place with passion and full commitment to make your stay enjoyable. She's an amazing chef and loves to bake aswell. Everyday there's something new homemade on the table. It all tastes absolutely amazing and the best thing is that the food and coffee/tee is available throughout the whole day/night. Self-service 24/07 whenever you are hungry/thirsty. She even made some homemade dinner free of charge for us (we were a lucky small group of travellers and obviously this can't be expected for anyone who's deciding to stay at the place). It also has a beautiful small balcony which has a nice view on the road. Room, bed, bathroom, shower all clean and well working. Overall just a perfect stay. Can recommend it 100%! Nada everything was perfect

Always concerned with our well-being, not to mention sharing ideas and experiences. The night of pizza and wine was wonderful and I will definitely return when I'm in Montevideo. • Chiara (9/5): Superb - We very much enjoyed our stay at the Montevideo Hostel! The room was cozy and comfortable and the location is great, close to the city center, the rambla and the old town. Annette (our host) really made us feel at home and the breakfast food (which was also available throughout the day) was delicious. Absolutely recommended if you're visiting Montevideo!

Annette, the hostess, has created a beautiful environment that welcomed you into a home. You can really tell the love pit into this place.

Annette prepared me a delicious dinner and made a fresh breakfast. She was also attentive to the cold and offered a rental of a heater. As a solo traveling I would suggest arriving during the day.
