Guest Reviews
- Christine (10/5): Perfect location near Belle Isle Castle - The comfortable beds, facilities and location. Just perfect to stay to be near Belle Isle for a wedding!!
- Jenny (8/5): It was a warm and homely house in a great peaceful location with wonderful views. - It was warm, cosy and homely. Loved the views of the loch and the peaceful location. It was a bit tired in areas and although I had requested some wood for when we arrived, none was provided and no response when I messaged. Communication disappointing. It said there was an outside table and chairs but actually the table outside had no top at all (it was broken) so couldn’t be used and no chairs, which was a shame as it would have been lovely to sit outside with a coffee to enjoy the views.
- Matty (9/5): A very relaxing holiday with amazing views in a spacious country house - Stunning Views of the lake
Very peaceful
Secluded
Spacious
Dog friendly
Good parking
Having the sun was even better More visible to find the lane a number or sign would be good a bit hard to find
- G. (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay at Coolbeg Farmhouse. It had Everything we needed for the stay. The beds were so comfy, Irish size super king, king and 2 singles. The kitchen was fully stocked, dishwasher, oven, hob, big sized fridge including some fresh milk left for us to use to tide us over. 2 sitting rooms, with large TVs one with DVD player and large selection of DVDs, the other with a PlayStation and some games to play, as well as a stock of books and boardgames, kept everyone entertained. Good power in the shower, and an extra toilet downstairs. It was warm and cosy, with heating we could adjust if needed. The location was perfect, away from it all. Fabulous views over the lake and farm, with lovely outside table and chairs to sit and enjoy the sunset. Can walk down to the lakeshore too. With horses in the fields, which the kids loved. Only a 10min drive to town with Lidl and other shops and takeaways. Highly responsive host to any questions. It really was perfect for our family.
- Shelley (10/5): Lovely house, truly beautiful location - Lovely house in a truly beautiful location.
We had a nice stay here whilst visiting family and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit this area, with or without kids.
There wasn’t a travel cot provided which had been agreed on at the booking stage but we had actually ended up bringing our own anyways so it wasn’t an issue we needed to raise however I do feel confident that it would have been rectified straight away if needed as the people managing this property are brilliant.
The only suggestion for improvement I can think of would be for there to be an option to add a child safety gate for the stairs, there are ones that don’t require drilling and I just feel this would really benefit families with young children like ourselves as it was a bit stressful trying to keep the very active 1 year old away from the stairs the whole time we were there.
Thank you for providing us with such a lovely wee holiday, our older boy really misses the horses since coming home but it’s being helped by all the photos he took of them, I think he will treasure them for a while!
- Emma (10/5): Such a beautiful, peaceful stay at Coolbeg - Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Very much a home from home. The house has everything you need. We travelled with our children and my mum and dad and we all had a fantastic time. The house is well finished in terms of decor. The outside space is wonderful. The children just absolutely adored the freedom and the 3 horses out the front. At the bottom of the field was access to the lough which was beautiful. We would love to return one day in warmer weather to get full use out of the boat. We had a few visits from Philip who was looking after the horses and he was a lovely man very friendly. Despite staying over new years the weather was lovely, really fresh and we sat out the front painting (with blankets) admiring the stunning, peaceful views. Memories made to last a lifetime. Kitchen had fantastic amenities so we were able to cook very well (lidl nearby). We also enjoyed a meal at the Erne Bistro in Lisnaskea which was very good.
The bedrooms were very big and beautifully decorated. Really nice furniture and again spotlessly clean. It was nice to have TVs in the bedrooms too. Bathroom upstairs and toilet downstairs were very clean. Shower was great. The living space was fantastic. Plenty of room in the large lounge for everyone and the kids enjoyed using the smaller lounge to play and watch movies. Honestly it would be some small recommendations because everything was really really good. A new toaster and microwave would make a difference (they were a bit old and rusty) and the dining room chairs were stained. We put cushions on them to hide the marks but other than that the house was fab!
- Eve (8/5): We all really enjoyed our stay - Lovely house in a lovely location but does need maintenance In need of a bit of maintenance but still a lovely house
- Jackie (9/5): Peaceful beautiful surroundings right by the lough... - Lovely house very comfortably and homely The bumpy Road to it..
- Aisling (9/5): Great family accomodation - Coolbeg is a very cosy house with everything you need to relax and enjoy your holiday. It was further out of town than anticipated, but that proved to be s positive with the beautiful scenery surrounding the property.
- Susan (8/5): Peaceful and quiet location in a beautiful part of the world and very comfortable accommodation. - Spacious house in a lovely quiet location with spectacular views of the Lough. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed exploring the local area including Crom Castle, Florence Court and the Marble Arch Caves which were excellent. Well equipped and comfortable chairs, games, TVs etc. The key box was difficult to open and we didn’t have a contact name or number if we had not succeeded in eventually opening it. We purchased some frozen food on our way but when we arrived the freezer box in the fridge was completely iced up and would not close. My son and I spent 2 hours defrosting it, eventually completely filling the sink with ice. The catch does work if closed firmly but gently. It must have been partially open for a while for so much ice to accumulate.
- Alison (10/5): Ideal family stay including our dog. Great base for visiting Enniskillen and wider Fermanagh area. - Location was picturesque, peaceful and so tranquil. Nature allowed to breathe and just be. Views of Lough Erne amazing. Wonderful freedom for the children. Loved our stay. Everything good. Initial problem with dishwasher but was sorted out promptly and new dishwashet installed.
- Natacha (9/5): We will be booking again !! Loved every minute of our stay here. - Really is a home from home.
Cosy rooms & spectacular views ! A bit tired but really didn’t cause any issues.
- Rosanne (9/5): Superb -
- Gibson (6/5): Finding the property was very difficult - address doesn’t take you there but listing doesn’t tell you that. I’ve attache - Upstairs is lovely. Beds very comfy. View over lake and fields beautiful. Kitchen is adequately equipped. Water pressure in showers was brilliant. Heating and hot water great. Some of the downstairs furniture is a bit tired - dining room chairs are definitely past their best. Microwave needs cleaned. Dishwasher due servicing. Freezer needs defrosted and has old food in it. View over rundown barn. Some of the ceilings are showing evidence of damp / peeling paint.
- Doody (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely spacious house, when we arrived we asked could we light the stove and the man looking after the property on behalf of his nieces husband dropped up bags of firewood Could do with some rooms getting repainted and also the ceilings
- Angela (9/5): Spacious house, stunning view. - The Farmhouse was spacious with beautiful views. The cleanliness on arrival not great the small freezer full of ice and old food, bathroom sink hairs in it.
- Marc (7/5): Good - The scenery, the size of the rooms and the numerous tv's and entertainment options. The facilities were, in the main, good. There was an issue with some lamps, the iron, the kitchen chairs and the sofa.
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - Location was awesome, superb views and easy access to everywhere. Roomy, homely feel, felt at home straight away and great value for money. Definitely come back. Nothing....
- Gregory (10/5): we had a great week here and hope to go back sometime in the future - very cosy with everything you would need for a great family stay
