Guest Reviews
- Laszlo (10/5): Highly recommend, thank you! - Clean, well equipped, spacious. N/A
- Anurag (1/5): -
- Nicky (10/5): Amazing location lovely little cottage very comfortable stay - Perfect location N/A
- R (9/5): I would recommend staying here. - Excellent location! Close to several great walking spots and Snowden. Nothing it was good.
- Ibiyinka (6/5): It was good enough to stay in but could be better. - TVs in all the rooms
Parking lot 1)The bathroom situation: The shower was not staying hot.
2) Having to pay for electricity.
- Shaju (7/5): -
- Julie (3/5): A great little cottage in rural Wales. tweak the issues for 5 stars. a poor bed is an absolute NONO! - Quiet location. First impression of cottage upon entering.
key location is very fiddly to open Main bed springs were horrific. Sent video to owners who were more than willing to turn mattress ( unfortunately that would not have helped) but hopefully they will do something before next guests. Luckily as I stayed alone I could use the double size bunk bed which has a great memory foam mattress.
Place feels damp and there are areas of mold. Bathroom ceiling. Gutters are full of moss so water poured over them in heavy rain. Decking extremely slippery and not maintained to its best. Sand sprinkled on, then varnished is a good trick. I did go flying onto my back! No mop or interior brush to clean up once the dog has been outside in garden.
The pot plants could do with some TLC. .
No idea how to use the oven as no markings.
now i read the mattress has been flagged since june 2023 which is SO disappointing to read. i am amending my review on this basis now
- tauqeer (8/5): -
- Sean (2/5): - The scenery. Level of dirt was mind blowing in and outside the property also slipping on sliome and wet leaves on the decking and spraining my ankle. Was a low point.
- Declan (9/5): - Good location for exploring the quarrys and castles
Easy parking
- Brogan (10/5): -
- Hannah Jade (7/5): Fabulous location, good cottage, but please change the mattress - Great Iocation, lovely swimming area. The garden and furniture were all very good, the cottage is a very nice size and the sofas are comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the shower was great. Short walk to the poolside bar. Quite limited kitchen equipment, only one oven tray. The dials had worn off of the oven so it was hard to know what was the grill and which was the oven, you kind of just have to guess, there are instructions but they don’t specify which is the oven function. The toilet leaked a little and the mattress on the double bed was incredibly noisy and a bit lumpy.

- Alina (10/5): Short and sweet stay. Had a pleasure stay.. - Perfect location, Refrigerator and some of the bed linens were dirty

- Alison (10/5): A lovely place to relax for the night after a very busy weekend. - Very comfortable, warm and homely. Microwave didn’t work.
- Hilary (7/5): Good - Location was great for what we needed. Everything we needed in the cottage was there. The main bedroom needs a new mattress, the noise everytime I turned over in bed was really loud and squeaky, so it wasn't really comfortable.
- Glynn (8/5): - A lovely little cottage, on a site I used to bring my children to. Great little places nearby. Unfortunately the bedroom smelt like damp, off washing. The quilt smelt stale on one side and of perfume on the other. So not been washed. We had to go out and buy bedding.
- Beth (10/5): Cozy little cottage in Snowdonia - The property was lovely and cozy, just the right size for the 3 of us, WiFi was great and property was in the perfect location Nothing
- Gynette (10/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): -
- Melanie (10/5): Excellent and great value for money - Stunning, homely cottage, everything we needed for our short family break. It was clean, smelt fresh, facilities were excellent. There was nothing not to love!
- Christine (8/5): -
- Simon (8/5): Ok but surrounding areas need a bit of tidying - Close to plenty of great places to visit The cottage was surrounded by other houses which were a bit shabby and house smelt of mould
- anna (5/5): -
- Michelle (8/5): - Garden furniture

Overall good accomodation
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place will deffinately come again
- Jan (8/5): Very good - It's ok. It was cheap and did what was required. Clean and everything worked (wifi kept losing internet).
Nice quiet location, but a pain to walk to caernarvon.
- Gipson (9/5): Superb -
- Angharad (10/5): Brilliant location and brilliant house. - Stayed with my partner and 3 year old child. We all loved it. Brilliant price for a two bedroom house with everything you’d need. Plus i believe they’ve had new decking and fence in the back, with table and chairs. You could hear the stream from the back garden as you sat at the table, very tranquil.
Loved the location, it was a 5 minute walk from the local amenities and park. And 5 minute drive to the local town, Caernarfon. Beautiful and quiet location.
We booked one night last minute at 7.30pm and arrived about 8.30pm. The host was easy to get hold of on the phone as we arrived to ask about the keys. Read the reviews previously posted and felt disheartened how low the score was. Definitely worth staying and will be booking again soon!
- Szasz (10/5): Good value, perfect location, prompt communication - We spent here only 2 days, but hope we can come back . Wales is amazing. The cottage is within a beautifully maintained holiday park. Perfect location as you can reach the most beautiful places in North Wales with 30-40 mins drive. Its well equipped with everything. We had to put the heating on, its very effective , within minutes the cottage was warm. Outside have a brand new decking, perfect for morning coffee, or just to listen to the birds . N/a
- Daniel (7/5): Nice property and owners , easy access to places in north wales very good location. - The location and size of the property The beds upstairs aren’t very comfortable and very squeaky had to use the pull out downstairs to get some sleep
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Colette (9/5): Lovely cottage, beautiful location, fantastic base for exploring North Wales. - Snowdonia Cottage is in a quiet holiday park that is conveniently located very close to Caernarfon and is a great base for exploring North Wales.
The cottage itself is very welcoming, homely and comfortable, easily accommodating a family of 5 over 2 bedrooms and has a lovely decked area to the back, I’m sure it’s beautiful on a warm day!
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (1/5): Stay clear of this property - There was nothing to like regarding this property Everything it was false advertising it is as damp and moldy it is as dirty
- Indrajeet (1/5): Bad -
- Alun (7/5): Good -
- Craigy2589 (1/5): Bad - Not much pool was freezing cold not heated, TV's in house didn't work properly cold damp and smelt of previous pets and outside is dangerous broken decking
- Joanne (6/5): Pleasant - Location Wifi didn't work. Decking at back rotten and unsafe. Strong smell of damp.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deepali (1/5): Bad - Unfortunately Had a bad experience. We had booked three nights (Sat-Monday) end of July.
Had no heating or hot water so I contacted the owner next day they have me instructions on how's to switch on the boiler, but it didn't work. After a day when the owner couldn't get the heating/boiler fixed they assured me they will return me my booking amount after deducting the amount taken by booking.com in 2-3 days; and get to stay for 3 days next year free. I had to leave and find another accommodation as I have small kids and the water was cold and no heating too.
After chasing them for a month when I didn't get any refund I contacted booking.com and have now received 370 when I paid 470 for 3 nights. And of course no reply on booking it for future. Booking.com have said they can't do anything further.
I had to look for alternate accommodation late evening during school holidays as the house was cold with the boiler packed up.
- Darren (5/5): Passable -
- Zoey (5/5): Lovely location. Hosts kept me up to date with what was needed. If it was cheaper I would definitely go back just felt i - Location was really good. Was able to go into the property without having to do a meet and greet which I always like. Felt it was expensive for what the accommodation was.
- Victoria (3/5): Dirty, outdated and unsafe - It was close to our required location to climb snowdon. The cottage wasn't very clean. The outside decking was dangerously rotten and loose in places. There was mould throughout the cottage. There were lights not working throughout the house. We ran out of electric and had to buy some more, and whilst the owner was very accommodating and reimbursed us and also compensated us a bit, it caused us a great deal of stress worrying about feeding our 1 year old baby. The beds were very uncomfortable and stupidly noisy. The stairs were creaky. If you needed to go to the loo in the night you woke the entire cottage up with how creaky everything was. There was no hand soap, toilet brushes or bins throughout the house which was very inconvenient. Very basic and we thought the pool would be part of the cottage but pictures very misleading and it was at 1 to 2 minute drive up to the main holiday park area.
- Stacey (1/5): Atrocious. Not in a rentable condition at all. Dirty - Nothing Cleanliness, mess, doors hanging off, lights not working, decking slippy, not looked after, no condiments, not even handwash. Staircase was loud and could not get up or down without it banging, blinds in all windows broken, dust everywhere, wires hanging out the wall, boiler was off on arrival with no instructions of how to turn it on, fire didn’t work, wifi off with no instructions how to set it up etc, no cloths for sides/dishes. Ended up in hospital after slipping on decking. Outside table filthy, broken outside cupboard, bulbs in every room out. Mess down the side of the house. Paint all over the grass. Broken lights on floor. Not in a rentable condition and definitely not clean to let out.
- Jacqueline (6/5): 255 Riverside cottage pros and cons. - The location was great close to the town centre. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed towels and clean bedding. We visited port merion as it was quite close 40 minute drive. The cottage needs a few fixes. The decking was very tired, and a few broken slats. The washing machine and dryer were located in the garden full of cobwebs so unusable. There was no light in the bathroom except in the shower, which was very dull. You couldn't see much in there in the dark. Overall, our stay was ok, but I wouldn't book this cottage again, number 255, riverside..
- Carole (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (6/5): Was ok - Location Broken decking, which is very unsafe , no heating coming on was freezing , not wot we expected after a full day out climbing snowdowina , would have lot to have got warm .
- Smith (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Very good had a lovely time All of if the cottage the camp and facilities
- Hedley (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant - The cottage was easy to find, and the area was brilliant. Close to places that u can visit, as long as u have a car. I am afraid to say that the main problems we had were that there were no instructions on where or how to work items in the cottage. Could not find the washing machine or the tumble drier. Took us a while to find out how to turn the fire on, which was on the wall. Outside, in the decking, some of the slats were lose. And that is where we found the washing maching and drier. But couldnt see how to use it. We then lost electricity. We thought a fuse had gone. Using our phones for light, we found it in the bathroom, but it was fine. In the end, we found that the electricity was on a card, in a drawer at the bottom of the stairs. If only we knew!!!!!
- Peter (7/5): Overall the property was well equipped but in need of maintenance - The location is excellent, it’s a private property situated in a delightful well equipped park The house is in need of work, the decking area in particular is in a poor state
- Anita (9/5): Family weekend - It is a beautiful place lovely riverside, and a lot of walks around. It was perfect
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Daleta (10/5): Exceptional - It's be last minute bookings about 07:00pm, we got very nice space to stay in the cottage. It be clean and tide, very nice owner, very helpful. It be amazing night stay with kids in the cottage. It's be very nice space. We don't have any bad complaints.
- Zac (1/5): Bad - Wrong impression from how advertised,
Boiler not working, very cold, Gas Cylinders were empty, no towels had to go to Asda to buy some, not been able to shower as the shower was stone cold. Shower door hanging, different statements from staff and not very helpful. Bad memories of a holiday for my 9yr old twins. We had to leave early due to the bad experience which ruined our plans.
- Lauren (7/5): Good - Location was good, house was a good size and would stay again. Meter for electric is separate but was at -£5 when we got there. Supposedly get this paid back but currently awaiting a reply. Heating was broken so was a bit cold and had to use electric heaters so the electric overall cost us an extra £20 (-5 for the initial debt).
- Steve (1/5): Extra charges on the electric - The beds were comfortable and the scenery is excellent Nowhere on the description does it tell you that no central heating and all pics show them in the cottage, you have 2 electric heating both useless and cost shed loads to run as this place is cold very cold and we had to pay £20 in the card payment to run the electric as its not included in the price which is not worth the money and there is no WiFi and signal on phones isn't very good there either. I called the hosts to ask questions to be told we have to pay for all electric as they don't use central heating as its not connected and also told them that the WiFi is not there like promised and was sent a text saying "I'm sorry your not having much luck today" thats all the help I got off them. Just letting you know that 6hrs uses approx £5 worth of electric if you have the 2 hearing devices on and a few lights its a total rip off paying that much for the cottage and then having to pay for the electric with useless heater. Sorry to rant but the owners wasn't helpful with anything.
- Eddie (1/5): Do not stay here . We made a mistake of not reading the last reviews. - Do not stay at this house it’s a scam No heating
Electric will run out with no means to top up
No internet
- Amanda (9/5): Fantastic stay. Great host 💕💕💕 - Fantastic location. Lovely and clean with very comfortable beds. Loved the mattress Host was amazing nothing was too much trouble Previous reviews mentioned smell of damp. We arrived on a really horrid day after loads of rain. No smell of damp at all. Will be back Nothing. Great stay. Only suggestion would be to include months pool is open on advert as didn’t know it would be closed during our visit so little one was disappointed.
- Inga (8/5): Good place to stay - Nice cottage, good location. Bed mattresses, but that's just personal preference.
- Anna (7/5): Good - Great location and the property is on a nice site (with swimming pool). The property had quite a damp smell on entering, but believe the owner is installing central heating soon which may help with this. It was clean, and had good facilities. Few things could have had attention (e.g. the shower door didn't shut), but didn't affect the overall stay particularly. Damp smell, particularly downstairs
Double bed in front bedroom was very hard and creaky
- G (7/5): Comfortable stay in the main, just needs a little TLC - Location and serenity of the area. Comfortable and clean beds The cottage needed a little TLC, mould on the wall, rotten and broken fence in the garden and needed to clean the shower before use
- Sandeep (8/5): Very good - Nice little property. Could do with a hot tub in the garden as there's plenty of space. Found pet hair on the floor. There's a musty smell in the lounge.
- Sara (5/5): Functional but not comfortable - Location was nice Generally in need of repair - it was damp, no central heating working to dry anything, oil filled radiators as a substitute didn’t seem to work (made an odd noise so we switched them off), sofas were worn out and not comfortable, back yard space was a hazard (broken umbrella, no base, rotten decking, no bbq, tumble dryer didn’t latch properly), the kitchen was not very well equipped (no large pans, no scissors, broken spatula, barely enough crockery & glasses, no serving dishes/Pyrex or measuring jug even !), no bench on front lawn per photo.
- Bhushan (10/5): Pleasant Stay - Very pleasant stay. Great location, nice and clean property. Easy self check in & check out. My son loved the pool. Friendly staff at bar. Wifi was great. Kitchen had most of the things we needed.
- Faye (10/5): Lovely thanks so much - Nice location Wanted a bath lol but its fine
- Martyn (9/5): Superb -
- Mandy (9/5): Superb - The cottage was lovely, parking outside too. The site was fantastic, the kids loved the outdoor pool and the cafe did some great food. We also took the dogs and the kids for a walk across the stones where the river was shallow. Plenty to do for everyone
- Vinay (6/5): Pleasant - Liked the place and ambiance Cleanliness, paid extra 20£ for electricity.
- Jonathan (6/5): Apart from above ok. - Very close to Caernarfon Castle No seating area outside or bbq facilities, no central heating so had to pay for electric heaters, on a pre pay card. Thought this would have been on the price of the stay which wasn’t cheap or been refunded.
- Sidra (6/5): It was ok but not value for money - Property is in the quiet neighborhood and comfortable There was no close by shops for baby milk, also no toiletries provided and Internet was not working :(
- Roshith (9/5): Superb - Location and easy self check in. Friendly cafeteria near house
- Michelle (5/5): Average break away - The location was perfect . The holiday park was clean and set in beautiful surroundings with lakes and streams plenty of varies birds to be seen . The staff in the shop and club were very friendly. Bingo night was fun . The booking .com site said the outdoor heated pool was open all year round ,but it was only open from May so that was disappointing and be aware that you have a card payment electricity meter in all properties which we only found out this when we got there !. We stayed for a 2 night birthday celebration break away . The cottage we stayed in had a few issues so we had the option to move to another property on the 2nd day and we did and we still had issues with that one too. So not a very happy stay ,the cleaning standards were poor . We made best of a stressful 2 days celebrations, all of which could have been easily sorted before we arrived there . The host did her best to accommodate us with the problems arose through messaging ,but I feel the host and booking .com could have done better too as the discount I was offered by the host for the inconvenience was an insult.
