Guest Reviews
- Michelle (10/5): Perfect View but Steep - The view was amazing and the property was lovely, it was perfect for walking with a path behind the house. The road up was really narrow and steep with hairpin bends, not for the faint hearted or cars with rubbish handbrakes!
- ELIZABETH (10/5): Amazing views - The cottage was quaint and homely, very tidy and plenty of room for everyone. The views were amazing and the log fire made it really cosy We didn't like driving up to the cottage itself, the tiny lanes were a little scary and it set off all the sensors on the car
- CHRIS (10/5): - Excellent well maintained cottage in a beautiful location
- Alan (7/5): Good - The viiews were simply stunning from the property and it was in a good location for exploring the lakes.
The facilities are very good and the kitchen fully equipped. . The town has good shops and plenty of pubs serving good food. The road up to the property was appalling and quite frankly a large car would not make it up. Also the beds in the spare room are too soft znd need changing..
The second parking space was usless too small and couldn't be used.
- Stewart (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Fantastic - The property was very well equipped with really comfortable beds and was clean and welcoming on arrival. The views were amazing and the location was great as a base to visit other area's. Coniston is a really lovely place.
- Elise (8/5): Comfortable, clean and felt like home from home - Felt homely Too far out of the village
- James (7/5): Overall enjoyed the stay we would come back again, value for money is worth it. Perfect location close enough to town bu - The views from to property out weigh everything, it’s close enough to the shops, pubs and restaurants. If you’re going for a hike it’s also a great starting point.
It’s a quiet area has everting you could possibly need in the property from appliances too utensils. The owner was extremely helpful and polite I’m sure if anything was to go wrong they would go above and beyond to resolve the issue. The welcome book was very helpful to. Parking is a little tricky, you have to be confident in your driving skills. I arrived late at night and was unaware about a second route to the property, I went up via option 1 it’s doable but extremely difficult. (My fault not checking details)- was a last minute booking.
The beds can be uncomfortable and feel well used.
In the bathroom was some mould minor but still visually unappealing.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (8/5): Lovely cottage and worth the journey, but beware of the steep drive! - Beautiful property with absolutely gorgeous views over Coniston. It had everything we needed for our stay, some useful info about the local area and the living room and kitchen were lovely. The balcony was particularly lovely and the window seat in the front bedroom, although the chairs were a bit tired on the balcony! We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the cottage! The drive up to the property is really very steep and took some getting used to, which we didn’t find out until after we’d booked, so check your car will make it up! The mattresses were also very soft and not comfy, and the bedrooms could do with better curtains for the summer light.
- Mike (9/5): Great spot - interesting road up to it though. -
- Karen (10/5): Hidden Gem with the most spectacular views of lake coniston . - The property was in the most scenic area but the roads were very tight leading up to it . Worth it for for the scenery. Nothing about the property just the road leading up to it were very tight . Husband got the hang of the roads after a day or two .
- Emma (10/5): We (2 couples) had a very comfortable 3 night stay here. Would recommend. - Beautiful views from the balcony over the lake. Very comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. Good shower and bath. Basics like oil and more washing up liquid would have been useful. Black out curtains in the main bedroom would be great if you're a light sleeper. Parking was fine but if there had been more cars from the neighbouring properties it might have been a bit tight.
- Craig (9/5): We enjoyed our time and would go back again - The location is high above Coniston. Other than the walk up the hill it was lovely. Parking was tough. Best to have a 4x4.
