Guest Reviews
- Lesley (7/5): - The kitchen and main living area is very nice as is the main bedroom .
- Kelly (5/5): Great location. Comfy beds. Parking is limited. - Great location for what we needed. 15 mins walk to the beach. Lots of space, beds were comfy and towels provided which was great. Plenty of cook wear if needed in kitchen. Would have been a fantastic stay if it wasn't for parking. Parking was a problem, we struggled to load and unload and wouldn't book again because of the parking situation.
Had an issue with the fridge/freezer being switched off upon arrival and freezer swimming with water, had to throw away the frozen food we bought as it didn't freeze well and fridge struggled once switched back on..
Picked up lots of cups/other stuff from under beds etc during stay not from us.
- Gavin (9/5): Had a great stay - Had a great stay at the property it was clean comfortable and had everything you needed and good parking check in to check out went smooth if in the area again would definitely book again and would definitely recommend Nothing from me
- Andrea (8/5): A pleasant stay in a dog friendly house close to amenities - Beautifully clean and tidy
- Paul (7/5): Easter weekend away - Very spacious with good facilities Lots of cobwebs everywhere plus had to sort the central heating out and buy batteries for thermostat..
- Marzena (10/5): - Wszystko było super
- Matthew (8/5): Clean, comfortable and well equipped, but parking is not good - Clean, comfortable and well equipped No handrail on the stairs makes it unsafe for older users and children
Even with the parking permit, parking was very limited, we had to park some distance from the property and on one occasion leave on yellow lines over night as no spaces were available.

- Aoife (9/5): Comfy little gem in Worthing - Cute, clean, great bed, all mod cons N/a
- Sali (1/5): - Difficult to tell as I was so upset by the problems. The owner's response to my negative review (both are below) imply I am lying. I do not like to be called a liar. I called them 4 times in the half hour after arrival - to ask how to switch the heating on, then to ask how to switch the fan heater on (there is no house manual) then to inform the owner of the dirty bed linen and tea towels. I then texted at 9 p.m. when the heating was STILL not working, the bedroom was cold and there were no extra blankets. It took the owner 65 minutes to reply and I answered them back straight away at 22.10 to say the heating control was not working as per their instructions. That is the last I heard from them. The did not call at 11 p.m. to ensure everything was resolved. As regards the bed linen - the clean ones were of course used. Two pillowcases were not used because I had my own clean pillow with me thank goodness so I left the dirty ones on the dirty floor throughout my stay. It is staggering that a host is complaining about a guest contacting them and lying so blatantly. When I arrived, there were many head and body hairs on the bed sheet and the pillows. Photos of some of them below. The place wasn't anywhere as clean as I would expect of a holiday let - for example the carpets were not cleaned properly. We got hold of the Henry hoover to vacuum the carpets and it didn't work properly - we looked at the dust bag and it was stuffed full. We changed the bag and hoovered the bedrooms. I phoned the owner and she said the place had been cleaned thoroughly and what did I want - clean bedclothes? I said yes, that would be nice. By the time the man arrived with a new set of bedclothes I had found the tea towels (photos below). I showed them to him and he said they looked stained to him but not dirty. I washed them. They were totally different afterwards -they had been dirty. The heating did not work. We were told to just turn the dial on the nest appliance. The radiators did not come on. I messaged the owner for the final time on the first of our two nights - see photo of my message. I never got a reply. The smaller bedroom stank of dog - it made me feel nauseous - but I never got to tell the owner because of how they had opted out of communicating. Whomever runs this property does not take pride in their role and clearly doesn't care about their guest's experience.
- trudy (9/5): - Nice place great locationa little on small side
Especially the garden.although threres a nice psrk just acrooss the main road. Very steep stairs could do with handrail as i struggled with notjing to hold onto
Sofas uncomfortable
- Andrea (8/5): - Die Lage Es fehlt ein Gelender am oberen Teil der Treppe
- Nancy (9/5): Excellent place for a visit to Worthing. Comfortable and clean - Lean, comfortable and warm
Nice to have milk and tea/coffee, really appreciated. Excellent location with only short walk to coast No coat hangers.
- Lyn (10/5): Great cozy cottage, well equipped and central for Worthing - Great cottage, very comfortable, well equipped and the bed was super comfortable and clean! Kitchen was also well equipped with a great coffee maker and pods, dishwasher and washing machine. Lounge was also spacious with a lovely dining area. Great for parking with an electronic permit. Could do with a sit close toilet seat and one that fits the toilet better…
Also freezer needed defrosting as drawers were stuck with ice
- Issitt (10/5): A lovely stay near to the sea. Kind hosts. - Brilliant contact with hosts and a lovely property! Good parking too. All was good.
- Prad (2/5): -
- Christine (9/5): Very comfortable modern cottege stay , walk to lovely cafes and beach. - Lovely cute cottage, two story house with two double bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, washing machine, tv, everything you need and modern. Everything was very good. Thank you.
- lisa (5/5): Could of been cleaner. - close to shops. Carpets up stairs wasnt hoovered, other peoples hair in beds and carpet. Bath was dirty, I think having two single beds would be better in the smaller room rather than a double. Difficulyt finding a parking space.
- michael (8/5): -
- Panagiotis (10/5): Best location close to the train station. Easy to check in. Execellent communication with the host. I would book again. - Location and size All good
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adamson (8/5): 2 days in Forrester Cottage - We liked the location.Near the centre and close to all local amenities and supermarkets.
The cottage is cute and comfortable. It was really nice to be able to open the door into the little patio as we had two very hot days.
We thought the agency was really good too.
They answered our questions promptly and the instructions on arrival and departure were very clear. The only thing we were a bit disappointed with was the fact it could have been a bit cleaner and it seems to have a problem with humidity. There was a musky smell in some of the kitchen cupboards and on the first day in one of the bedrooms.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (8/5): Great Getaway! - It’s a perfect location - we could park anywhere in zone G but found a spot no problem. The place is a lovely layout. The light up fire was nice and the little area corner outside. It all just worked! Great little place for a getaway. I think fixing the shower head would help future guests as pressure good so nice shower otherwise but fell out a few times. We really enjoyed our stay so that’s just a tiny bit of feedback.
- Vikki (7/5): Well placed spacious cottage. - The size of the house was perfect and it was great that it is dog friendly. The dishwasher was appreciated as was the washing machine. The coffee machine didn't work and the owner offered to kindly come take a look but we were fine to do without due to our length of stay. There's a great pub at the end of the road - the Toad in the Hole - very quirky, and of course you've a morrisons too on the doorstep. Parking was fine, we managed to get a spot very close by to the house every time we went out. Just a half hour drive to Brighton and a 5 minute drive to the sea front at Worthing. All in all a great little cottage. As mentioned in previous reviews, the holder for the shower attachment needs fixing, it doesn't grip the shower head - a shame as there's plenty of pressure there for a potentially fantastic shower. A small welcome basket would have been appreciated, just enough to make a cuppa on arrival. Towels could also do with replacing, a couple had what looked like bleach marks on them. It would also be really helpful to leave instructions for the central heating control, we figured it out in the end. There's a train line not far from the house but you can hardly hear the trains so that wasn't an issue.
- Kylie (10/5): Lovely stay, within easy walking distance of town - Lively and cosy, perfect location
- Michael (7/5): Good - Location was good.
Pretty little house with good room sizes Lean-to dinning area meant the house was cold even though the weather was good
Bathroom had a number of annoying issues, the shower head was poor and the enclosure short making showering stressful rather than relaxing.
The oversink cabinet is to low to make the sink usable.
Light cord to short.
Furniture was cast offs rather than enhancing the property.
Blinds in bedrooms look nice but mean to much light early in the morning.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - the place was clean, warm and spaces and had every we needed was in the property , we would definitely book the property again.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Gareth (9/5): Great. Everyone was happy. - Location was great. Car charging at supermarket (200m). Lovely property. We were late for a good parking spot.
- Stephen (9/5): Comfortable and clean - Everything we needed for a short stay in Worthing, to visit relatives. All was good. Roads were a bit busy to park, but we found a space, both nights.
- Valerie (7/5): Enjoyed our stay - The cottage felt airy and bright. No hand rail on the stairs.
Sofa low and uncomfortable
Poor shower
- Stuart (7/5): Good - Nice size for a family of 4, for a weekend stay. And to be able to bring the dog was amazing. Huge cobwebs in the kitchen. Not enough towels and lack of loo roll.. My daughter fell up the step to the dining area as it blends in to everything else around it.
- Tina (7/5): It's ok for a couple of nights. - It was convenient, quiet, but lacked some TLC. There is a tiny step between the Lounge & Dining area to the outside door half the size of the Skirting Board same coloured tiles no warning my friend tripped, but I went flying & bashed both my knees painfully so be aware of this step as it's dangerous. Also no handles to get out the Shower or shower mat.
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): Great place to stay great location near everything that we needed to be near to - Location, very cosy, parking wasn’t to bad just finding a space which wasn’t to difficult Nothing
- Hill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Horia (2/5): Needs deep cleaning and damp issues sorted out throughout. The property has potential tough. - Checking in was smooth. We were hit by a strong damp smell as soon as we entered the property. This issue needs sorting ASAP before letting out the property to others. Upstairs is the bathroom, two bedrooms and a hallway where the carpet (in the bedroom and hallway) smelled so bad, probably after a dirty or suffering dog. Overall, the house was not properly cleaned with dust and human hairs almost everywhere. The living room carpet was not clean either with hair and crumbles in it. I doubt the windows were cleaned recently. The fridge was dirty also. One of the beds was broken, taped (no effect at all) with paper tape and painted on top. Water ingress signs on external walls and around windows.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Melanie (7/5): Disappointed - Comfy cottage. Well equipped. No stair rail on top of stairs for 8 steps down. Steep stairs. Parking was terrible had to keep riding round looking for a space. No front or back garden to sit in. Not suitable for elderly or disabled persons. Area wasn’t the best either nothing around the cottage to go to. In hindsight should have stayed nearer the sea front.
- Clare (5/5): Nice, but needs new beds and a decent mattress! - Great location and good size Beds were so uncomfortable and it smelled of damp. Such a shame as it could be really nice if had decent beds
- Lauren (2/5): Very poor - Location The bed looked like it had been slept in, there was hairs all over the sheet and on the bottom sheet, the shower head was also broken with no hot water
- Karen (10/5): A vey comfortable cottage in a brilliant location, we’ll be back next time we visit Worthing. - Brilliant location, local shops just around the corner and the sea front and pier were a 2 minute walk away. We were so fortunate that we had brilliant weather. The cottage was just perfect, so cosy with very comfortable beds, it had everything we needed. Nothing , we found it very adequate for our needs.
- Ingerlise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Whittaker (10/5): Exceptional - All facilities were present. We only slept there . Cooked some pasta etc. Utensils were all there. Tea, coffee available when we arrived. Parking is restricted, but if you are flexible not really an issue.
- Emma (7/5): Nice location, easy to find, dirty kitchen, hair all over the place on the floors and some on the beds - Location was good Dirty kitchen, previous guest had obviously cooked some tomato sauce of some kind and the tiled splash back had not been cleaned from that and there was splashed sauce up the wall and there were crumbs everywhere.
Toilet was clean on surface but look where seat is connected and it had clearly not been cleaned for a long time.
There were lines on the floor from the hoover but still previous guests hair everywhere.
- Ryan (10/5): Amazing stay to discover the south of England - Spacious, clean Blinds in the bedrooms better with some curtains
- Kim (8/5): Very good - I found this a very pleasant stay at the property and it had all facilities we needed. Hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. The location of property was a short distance supermarkets, corner store, nice pubs so very convenient. Quiet road too which was a bonus. Would stay here again for our next visit. It had everything we needed for our short stay so can't say there was anything we didn't like.
- Sharon (8/5): convenient as we were visiting family nearby - close to amenities, clean and tidy, everything we needed was in the cottage the location was not ideal as a lot of through traffic ie people and noise late at night, the freezer in the cottage needs defrosting and parking not easy to do
- Ciaran (8/5): Good Trip - Clean, comfortable and not far from the high street. Owner was very helpful with an issue with regards to parking as a lot of the area is permit parking. They sorted it straight away. Smelt of dog, quite hot as the heating was on and was quite a hot weekend. Couldn't find how to turn it off.
- Kelly (8/5): Very good - Lovely cottage, deceptively comfortable. Great size bedrooms and kitchen etc. Location good Small things, not complaints, but we couldn't use the freezer as it was frozen shut. The radiator covers in both bedroom had fallen off (more than a clip back in job). Some of the oven trays etc weren't cleaned after previous use.
Parking was very limited and hard to find.
- Andrew (4/5): Disappointing - location the overwhelming and overpowering smell
wet dog
the sofa, carpets, beds stunk of wet dog
we had to open all the windows to air the property and buy air fresheners just to sit in the living room
- Claire (8/5): Perfect location. Clean and modern. Would recommend. - It was simple, comfortable and clean.
We loved the location. So close to the beach and to the shops. There weren’t any basic supplies like soap for shower, milk, oil. And there wasn’t enough toilet paper for 4 people for 3 days.
- Scott (7/5): If it was just cleaner and it would be a 10. - It is a great location and has all the facilities you need to look after a family with children while you are away. It was safe and warm with the right amount of home comforts. Cottage was at the acceptable level of clean on the surface. However on closer inspection many areas were below a basic standard. There were many stains on blinds, heavy deposits on the blinds and shutters and lots of limescale in the kettle. Also the oven is not very good and needs constant attention.
- Haz (8/5): Happy with our stay and would recommend this property as a value for money stay in Worthing. - Great location with lots of facilities you need for a “home from home”. Lovely living room and kitchen space. Property was clean however not deep cleaned. When needing to access extension leads under bed, had not been cleaned under bed same under chest of drawers. Fridge and freezer needed cleaning. General wear and
tear on some furniture/walls.
