Guest Reviews
- Mary (9/5): Peaceful, Comfortable, Rustic, and Charming - Very peaceful surroundings, comfy warm room with great kitchen amenities and some cool mod cons while still being rustic and charmy. Peter is a lovely fellow, enjoyed chatting with him immensely. If you are looking for somewhere private and comfortable to stay, this is for you. Nothing
- Ava (10/5): Awesome place for a weekend getaway to do some hiking. The surrounding areas are spectacular. - Lovely, tucked away property in rural Wales. It is comfortable and cozy. It was perfect!
- Leah (10/5): -
- Shannagh (9/5): Beautiful - The property was stunning nice and cosy, gorgeous farm yard setting surrounded by views and sheep
Exactly what we needed for a quiet night away Only thing that was inconvenient - there was only one wine glass and no hand soap
- Marie (10/5): Lovely, cozy & spotlessly clean! - Lovely and cozy with modern touches. Spotlessly clean! Bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Weather was very wet during our 3 day stay, so, sadly, we didn't get to do any of the walks, or explore the area, but we had a relaxing break and will definitely be back in the spring ☺ Due to an extensive fire that had happened at the old Inn a few years earlier (something we found out during our stay!), there were some building work and repairs being done on site, so scaffolding was on parts of the buildings and skips/tools/pipes lying around, which initially surprised us on arrival, as this was a "romantic" break away for myself & my partner, and something we wasn't expecting. However, once we got over the initial shock, it did not hamper our stay.

- Vroomfondle (10/5): Cosy room in a great location - Beautiful cosy room in a terrific setting surrounded by forests and mountains. Well equipped single room conversion. Induction hob, under-floor heating, even a wine chiller. Very friendly host.
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect getaway - This was stunning. We felt a real sense of history when we looked up it's past. The scenery was perfect. Very friendly welcome with a tour of the ground. We loved how quiet it was at night and would love to visit again. N/A
- Mark (10/5): Ideal location, will definitely be back - second time I’ve stayed there now - Ideally located, very clean and welcoming Nothing
- Jade (10/5): - Was very clean and cosy
The owner was so friendly and helpful would definitely stay again
- Migle (9/5): -
- Paula (10/5): Stunning views from this beautifully refurbished apartment within an ancient stone building. - This little apartment is gorgeous with a really comfy bed, and crisp linens. The bathroom is modern and classy. And the location is stunning with views for miles. Our dog loved it too! There are no shops or restaurants in walking distance but they're only a short drive away.
- Kasper (8/5): Great place for an overnight stay when travelling from South Wales to the north - Nice little studio in a historic building. The host is a very nice person and made us feel very welcome.
- Bob (10/5): Great old historic property with very nicely appointed room. Sheep greeting us was a bonus! - The unique nature of the external part of this room was fascinating. It looks like an old burned out castle and then inside is very luxurious and appointed very well. Sheep bleating in the morning was a great way to wake up in Wales!
- Warren (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kellsie (9/5): Superb - So cute and comfy! Cozy spot in the national park, so easy access to many hikes and views, food is accessible about 15 minutes away. We loved all the sheep on site, they were so cute! The windows don't have a view from inside the room, but it's lovely to go out back and see the hills. It's next to another room and the owners house [they are lovely!] with children and everything is kind of visible so I'm not sure it's the best spot for a romantic getaway, persay, but the location is remote.
- Leah (10/5): Beautiful romantic getaway- not to be missed! - The property itself is gorgeous and so perfect. It has all the amenities you could need and beautifully decorated! It is set within a gorgeous Welsh backdrop with lovely walked and really lovely hosts! Nothing! 10/10!
- Toby (8/5): Nice hidden spot - Unusual place hidden in an old building all renovated to a nice standard. Despite being off the beaten track there was good WiFi and Netflix/Prime available. Comfortable bed, nice and quiet. I really liked it.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property beautiful location
- Samantha (8/5): Quirky quiet hideaway in rolling landscape. - It was the perfect quiet hideaway in a beautiful landscape in a beautifully modernized apartment. Central for sightseeing. There wasn't any outside seating available on the walled terrace. The steep, open steps to the apartment are not suitable for people with mobility issues although certainly quirky.
- Ellen (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (9/5): Superb - It was a lovely unique place to stay. We were able to do a couple of beautiful walks during our time there. Our host told us a great place to go for dinner the Oakley. We also drove to the coast Criccieth, which was only 30 minutes away.
- Frankie (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and brilliant renovation N/A
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Tiny perfection - This place was the prettiest to stay at, it just felt like a home from home, the guy who owns it helped us settle and showed us round was very helpful, it was so quiet and plenty of grounds to go for a nice morning walk, we can't wait to come back here we both really had the best time and will be booking for 2 night next time as one just wasn't enough at this place My partners snoring because he was so comfy
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - I cannot find anything negative about this place. Loved it!
- Wade (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (7/5): Fantastic setting - No microwave as advertised
Steps steep up to apartment and door opens outwards onto the steps. It's quite precarious.
Place immaculate and well presented. Fantastic shower. Stunning scenery. Hot tap didn't get hot !! No kettle as hot tap fitted so we had to boil the water on the hob.
- Meinir (5/5): Lovely location, comfy bed but the unit is not a one bedroom as advertised- it is a compact studio. - Location, comfy bed and cleanliness once inside Size, facilities and poorly equipped kitchen
- Marielle (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): I recommend 👍🏻 - Beautifully located, mega cozy apartment. Very clean and decorated in a good style. I recommend
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Matt (9/5): Superb - Really cosy place in a fantastic location. I love the restoration that is taking place and the contrast of old and new. Would definitely stay here again and will be watching the continued work on social media
- Gareth (9/5): Superb - Peaceful, secluded location. Friendly, helpful hosts. Lovely accommodation - just as shown in the photos.
- Mark_wilkinson_81 (10/5): A great little hideaway off the beaten track, definitely be back to explore more. - The suite was beautifully decorated, and all the facilities were there.
- Frascati (10/5): Exceptional -
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pawel (10/5): Beautiful little gem! - Beautiful small place, decorated very tastefully, with a confortable bed, good bathroom and kitchen. Charming location, with a garden with an amazing view, where you can eat your meals. Very close to our hiking trail, easy to reach. It was great. Just a water boiler would come in handy (but boiling water in a pan on the stove was quick, no problem)
- Sarah (9/5): We will definitely return especially once the renovations are complete. - Location, secluded and the most beautiful walks of Snowdonia Park.
While at the accomodation we didn’t see or hear anyone accept for sheep, perfect. No, great value for money.
- Simón (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy room in an idyllic location, perfect for relaxing close to nature. Amazing views and super friendly hosts.
- Caroline (9/5): Superbly renovated hideaway with modern and comfortable facilities and care to detail - Renovated with great care, to a high standard. Modern, efficient and comfortable facilities in the accommodation, while maintaining the history. Very welcoming and friendly hosts will ensure you have all you need.
I hope the heritage pub renovation can progress soon, as the owners are clearly passionate about bringing the life back to a community asset and will take the utmost care to maintain the heritage of the building. Nothing to fault it! Renovation of the pub and availability of meals there would be a good bonus, as the only option in walking distance is a cafe in a holiday park.
- Abdel (10/5): Welsh Modern Cozy - Perfect Nature Getaway Apartment - Very cozy apartment that was lovely to stay in, It had everything that we needed and it was a great blend of Welsh and modern finish. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. I have saved this apartment for the next time I am in Wales.
- Eleanor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcel (9/5): Our stay was excellent. - The accomodation was good and clean, also and excellent view from the landscape. We missed a machine to make coffe.
The sink in the bathroom was too small.
- Alex (8/5): Very good - Cosey and nice
- Mark (10/5): Hiking the Cambrian way rest stop - Great place for a rest from our long hike everything we needed and peaceful environment. Owners really helpful with all our enquiries
Thanks for everything. 10 out of 10.
Regards Mark and Cherryl 🙏 Everything was 10 out of 10
- Olga (8/5): Really cute for a short stay - Lovely little apartment, beautiful area. High spec interior.
Responsive owner. Very little hanging space for clothes, towels etc.
The single armchair pictured is all the seating other than two stalls at the breakfast bar.
Quite steep steps up to the property with no hand rail.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean apartment.
The owners live on the site and are very friendly but are not intrusive in any way.
Beautiful location.
Had a lovely few days there and will certainly be going back. A suggestion not a criticism.
A microwave would be handy .
- Angie (7/5): Good - There are v steep steps going into the property. Which is difficult when carrying a suit case etc
- Sophie (9/5): Superb -
- Lily (9/5): Superb -
- Paige (10/5): Exceptional - All of it! Nothing...
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Povilas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): Fabulous characterful hideaway with Mountain View’s - Super helpful owner Peter who brought us some milk and gave us a warm welcome
Very cosy accommodation modern contemporary but characterful Everything you need Steep steps need a hand rail up to entrance but that is for oldies like us and a minor point
- Richard (10/5): Unforgettable Views, Impeccable Comfort - Our stay here was exceptional! The location offered breathtaking views, and the room was lovingly furnished with everything we needed, including a cozy bed and well-equipped kitchenette. The hospitality was outstanding, and we highly recommend this property for a memorable stay! Just be aware the medieval buildings and grounds it is set in are going through ongoing renovations, though we had absolutely no issues with the lodge itself, and were not disturbed by anything from this renovation work.
- Christine (10/5): Definitely a hideaway but not too far away from everything. - Lovely out of the way location and cosy stay. Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): It is in a Perfect location, being Extremely quiet and cosy. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. It’s my second time - Cosy, good location N/a

- Joanne (10/5): Very relaxing, quiet. A great hideaway and within easy access to some beautiful countryside, but also a short drive away - Very cosy and quiet. Easy access to other areas in wales Nothing
- Mathew (10/5): Amazing! - Amazing property with top of the range appliances and bathroom. We will be staying here again! N/A
- Shauna (10/5): A gorgeous getaway with magnificent views and cozy atmosphere. - A welcoming greeting by the owner and a stunning location with a beautiful view. The interior was so cozy and the bed alike. Plug sockets right next to the bed too, which is always a plus. I honestly couldn't say enough pleasant things about this property, the kitchenette had everything from a working oven to all cutlery and dish soap! A boiling water tap too, which I don't see often. The owner had also kindly left us some milk in the fridge. Check out time was also super lenient so we never felt as though we were in a rush. Overall, we'd love to come back some time!! My other half's experience with the shower water temperature, where it kept fluctuating however I only had that issue if i kept turning the dial and had to wait a couple seconds for it to become steady. Also, the WiFi didn't work on either of our devices (would connect but nothing was loading) but it did work on the TV and luckily our phones had data and signal anyway so it was no big issue for us.
- Hilton (8/5): Cosy, modern, quiet apartment. - Really quaint little apartment with everything you need, nice shower, underfloor heating and the bed was very comfortable. Once parked the route to the apartment was a little dangerous when wet and dark, some extra lighting and a rail on the steps would be beneficial.
