- Timo (8/5): Unieke plek - Fijne accomodatie op een rustgevende plek. Prima zwembad en daarnaast ook genoeg activiteiten te doen zoals kayakken etc. Omdat het redelijk afgelegen ligt qua locatie ben je afhankelijk van halen en brengen door de eigenaar met boot. Dit is maar 2 x per dag op vaste tijden en anders betaal je extra. Dit maakt je behoorlijk afhankelijk als je iets anders wil ondernemen in bijvoorbeeld Guatapé. Ook zijn de maaltijden ondanks dat ze met liefde gemaakt worden wat eenvoudig/karig.
- Maria Alejandra (10/5): Excelente - Nos gustó todo: Desde el paseo en bote por todo el embalse hasta la llegada a la propiedad, ubicada a las orillas y rodeada de jardines y árboles, lo que le da al lugar un encanto especial. Las cabañas nuevas, amplias, muy limpias y bien amobladas. La propiedad está muy bien cuidada y sus empleados de lo mejor: atentos, bien dispuestos y amables. Piscina climatizada. Buen desayuno y rico café. Hay actividades acuáticas y puedes nadar en el embalse pues hay muy poco tránsito de lanchas y botes por allí. Al estar alejado de todo es muy tranquilo. Ideal para compartir en familia, descansar y visitar Guatapé o el Peñol en el día. Todo nos gustó. Solo hay que tener en cuenta que necesitas bote par salir de la propiedad
- Goncalves (9/5): Superb - Volare Guatapé Isla is a dream destination, where you can escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a serene environment with just a few other visitors. Here are some important details to know before you go, which we discovered when we booked our stay. Volare is only accessible by boat, which departs from the marina at 12 PM and 3 PM free of charge. If you need to return to the mainland for any reason, you can do so, but you'll need to pay for the ride. It's also a good idea to bring snacks, food, and drinks, as Volare has a basic "restaurant" that serves simple breakfast and dinner options. While the food is adequate for a meal or two, if you're staying longer, consider purchasing some items for your breakfast and dinner, since there are facilities available in the kitchen. The bungalows are beautiful, providing a comfortable stay. During the day, the weather is pleasantly warm, while evenings can be chilly. The pool is warm throughout the day and is perfect for both kids and adults. You can also enjoy various additional services, just ask in advance to plan accordingly. If you're interested, you can even request a massage. Overall, it is an amazing place to stay!

- Silje (10/5): Exceptional - The cabins are new and very modern. Comfortable beds. Heated pool. The property is very idyllic and has so much charm with horses, cows, and roosters around. Although the rooster has misunderstood the usual wakeup hours (he thinks it is at 3:30 a.m.), it still was lovely to be so remotely surrounded by lovely landscapes. The family who owns the place is the most lovely people I met in a long time! They treat you like family and always are there to help out with anything 🙏🏽 I highly recommend this place, I know for sure I will be back.

Pedro and Ledi were super kind and helpful during our stay and gave us the best attention possible. We met Juanma the owner and he is a great person as well full of recommendations for your stay. The place is stunning. Good Location, cozy cabins, delicious food and plenty of activities to do. It is impossible to get bored. Thank you for 3 amazing days, we were super happy to spend our holidays at Volare. We’ll be coming back soon.
- Jakob (6/5): Pleasant - The heated pool is awsome!👍 You can also use it once it is dark. You can see the stars while relaxing in the warm water. Absolutely genius! The atmosphere is very relaxed. The boat ride over the lake is a really nice start in your holiday! We rented a canoe and the trip was awesome. The animals on the side (dokey, horse, dogs)are very friendly. It is very safe and the children liked it a lot. For a remote area the internet was very good! It also was accessable over the whole are. Friendly owner Family. Construction work 2 out of 4 days only 5m away from our veranda. So no calm relaxing space. In addition we were the only guests on site and they hav seen us sitting on the veranda. Still decided to do construction work (flex, drill, hammer) all day. In this price category inaceptable. We really did not understand the good reviews for the food. We only had dinner once and can't tell anything about lunch. Just to give you an impression this was the menue option: Hotdog, Burger, French fries , Arepa. All ok, but nothing like what we expected given the other reviews. Description of the stay / Furnishing : Payment fee of 5% for credit card payment if I don't pay cash. Also they stated in the booking confirmation, that cash is not accepted. You can only access the venue by boat. Nice but should be mentioned in the description. No dishwasher also said so. No cutting board. Stove is producing a lot of soot.

- Amanda (10/5): Peaceful few days in nature - The hotel is in a beautiful place and the huts are lovely and comfortable. The staff where so lovely and helpful in every way. The person who cooked for us was really kind and a good cook. Because the water levels are low, boat transport to town drops you off at a port about 10minutes out of Guatape by car. You need to get an additional taxi to get to Guatape. The lake is no longer navigable after 6pm so you can’t easily go out for dinner. You have to have dinner at the hotel.

A true paradise - I loved everything about the hostel from the amazing views to the wonderful staff! There was so much on offer at the hostel activities wise and the food was incredible!

- Blake (4/5): Ultimately disappointing. The pictures of the lake are out of date and misleading. The lake is down a good twenty feet l - The cabins were nice. The pool was heated. There were puppies. The staff was friendly. There was construction going on the entire time we were there including late into the night and while we were in the pool. The host was unfriendly. They left us waiting on the dock for 30 minutes because the staff was wakeboarding. It was too expensive for what it is. Aside from the modern cabins the property, especially the restaurant, was very rustic. No fans, AC, or bug screens on the windows. They charged an extra 5% to pay with a credit card because they wanted me to pay direct rather than charge through booking.com.

- David (1/5): Small lakeside property, accessible only by boat, run by money-hungry hosts, with risk of loud music - There was nothing good about my experience there. This was the worst experience I have had at any hotel or hostel. This place might be appropriate for guests who are comfortable in a confined isolated space and want to be near a pool, socialize with others, listen to music, and party. This would no doubt suit some guests. But I was looking for a quiet place to rest, to enjoy nature, and to engage in meditative practices, and this was the worst place possible for that. The hostel is on a small isolated lakeside property that can only be reached by boat. The boat only leaves el Penol at specific times (11:30am, 3:30pm). Since I was given this information late, I had to rebook my bus. The boat pick-up itself was late, chaotic and disorganized, with messages being sent at the last minute. The hostel is terrible if you are looking for quiet, peace or tranquility. The neighbours had a very loud party that went all night. The music was so loud that it reverberated through the hostel and prevented me from sleeping. I was informed that the neighbours have these parties about once a month. Due to the loud music, I cancelled the remaining two nights and this was approved by the booking platform. However, one host insisted that I had to pay for all three nights. She tried to present this as out of her control, pretending that she had no other option other than to charge me for all the nights. However, it was obvious that she was using feigned helplessness to disguise the fact that she was trying to make as much money as possible. That host also tried to overcharge me for food, charging much more than previously agreed and adding hidden costs to the bill. The experience was stressful because the hosts were so shameless. Their communication was poor. They were disorganized. They were deceptive and exploitive. When this inevitably caused problems, they tried to evade responsibility by feigning stupidity. They had no shame. I felt like I was dealing with children the whole time. I would like to see the hosts stop the weak excuses, feigned stupidity, and feigned helplessness. They should be honest and upfront about the property, the boat pick-up, and the prices they intend to charge. If possible, they should warn guests about dates the neighbours intend to have parties, and give guests an opportunity to cancel. They should be gracious and fair about cancellations. I hope that they learn from this experience.

Right next to a farm and you could just enjoy the wildlife, a really unique experience for someone who comes from a city! There is some planning needed to get back and forth from the hotel from the Marina. Luckily the marina is very nice and we could relax and eat there, while enjoying the view.

- Andersrr (10/5): Magical experience in the nature of Guatape - This was a truly magical experience. The hut we booked was located on a separate grass field about 5 minutes away from the hotel. This made it a bit isolated in the evening, but if you're fine with staying in the hut all evening, then you're in for a treat. The view over the lake and listening to the animals and mature during the evening was a truly amazing experience. The pool is also really great! Camilo was a great host going out of his way to make sure we were having a good time. Thanks a lot! The path to the hut is through an area of cows, and I happened to step on some of the "mud", which was a bit nasty. Would be great to find a more clean road to the hut.
- Lauranne (9/5): Superb - Staying here was really great. The boattrip to get there and the cabana with a great view, really make you feel away from the busy world. Communication with the host went so smoothly, as well as the transport from the marina to the hostel and back. Special thanks to Chamilo, who was always smiling and ready to help us or make us feel welcome. Really recommend!
- Matthes (10/5): Exceptional - We had an unforgettable stay at Volare. The hotel is very idyllic in a small bay. The houses/rooms are very modern, comfortably furnished and offer a great view of the well-kept garden, the clean and warm pool and the lake. It is wonderful. Sara and her team gave us a very warm welcome and fulfilled our every wish. Camilo in particular is a great guy who we had a lot of fun with!! He picked us up from the marina and from then on brought us to our destinations safely and quickly by boat at any time. The communication in English went smoothly at all times. We can highly recommend Hotel Volare and would love to come back. Next time we will bring more time to take advantage of the many activities on offer, such as water sports or hiking. - Christina (9/5): Superb - This place is absolutely stunning! Direct access to the lake, huge garden, heated outdoors swimming pool, great food and the hosts are adorable. There are lots of available activities like hiking, wakeboarding and stand-up-paddle that you can purchase there. Definitely worth a stay. You should know that to get to the city of Guatapé or piedra del peñol the hotel personnel has to take you by boat, which costs 50.000 COP.
- Vladlena (10/5): Perfect place to enjoy nature - I stayed in a shared room, and my bed has amazing view for the lake. The place overall is cozy and clean, with good Wi-Fi. The whole area is very beautiful, very green, with a lot or palm trees and blossoming bushes, far from crowds, very calm. The most amazing is a heated pool, and variety of water activities. I’ll definitely come back. And it’s highly recommended for those who value spending time in nature.
