Guest Reviews
- Fr Gary (9/5): A wonderful home from home, in an idyllic setting - Beautifully located, very quiet and peaceful, attractive cottage garden, everything was immaculate, and the property was warm with ample supplies of hot water too. We were grateful for the pint of milk in the fridge too! There really wasn't anything...
- Williams (10/5): - Beautiful location, absolutely wonderful to escape from the modern day by settling into such a cozy and historic building.
- Amanda (10/5): A wonderful week in the Cotswolds staying in an iconic building. - A beautiful building, in a lovely setting and gorgeous neighbourhood Loved it all
- Burla Erçil (9/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Lovely warm cottage ideally located in the North Cotswolds and Shakespeare Country - It's a beautiful quintessentially English 16th/17th century cottage in a quiet hamlet and we enjoyed our brief stay very much! Central heating worked perfectly in the colder weather augmented by the wood fire in the living room. The location is ideal being close to all the North Cotswolds areas of interest and Shakespeare Country. A short walk to Hidcote Gardens (NT). For tall(er) people, be mindful of some of the low beams around the cottage. Some laundry powder/capsules would have been appreciated.
- Gareth (7/5): - Good looking cottage Letterbox cottage is not a cottage for people with any sort of mobility problems. There were too many hazards such as the steep narrow staircase and lots of trip hazards which were not in the booking description.
- Clare (8/5): Very peaceful stay in a cosy, picturesque cottage - Good quality bedding; warm and cosy; weel equipped kitchen Towels had seen better days; could use a four slice toaster to speed breakfast prep; radiator not working in double bedroom en suite
- Mr Yates (10/5): Beautiful thatched roof cottage straight out of a picture book. -
- Dumitru (10/5): Magic cottage - Fairytale cottage look and feel, fireplace and other details that makes it magical. No adaptors for EU sockets, but no big deal in the end.
- Daniela (10/5): Quintessential British beautiful cottage - Traditional and cosy, absolutely love the quirky nook beside the open fireplace. Would be great if it was a shorter walk to the village
- Mathilde (10/5): -
- Suzanne (8/5): Great weekend retreat - Relaxing quiet hamlet Restricted head height in the cottage, need a car for provisions
- Janice (8/5): Hope to come back and stay again! - So fabulous and just as we had expected. The whole area has dodgy internet, that was the only main issue.
- Karen (8/5): - Malerisches Cottage in sehr schöner (allerdings einsamer) Lage.
- Nilesh Salkar (8/5): - The location Senior citizens will find it difficult to use the narrow winding stairs
Limited supply of consumables like toilet paper, tea and coffee, dishwasher soap.
- Stef (9/5): Letterbox cottage - Beautiful area Not sure if the hob was working properly, no instructions in the folder, we got by with continental breakfast
- Martin (10/5): A perfect cottage stay near to Hidcote Manor and in a wonderful part of the Cotswolds. -
- Marion (10/5): Beautiful cottage - Lovely quiet location Larger bed would be good in main bedroom
- Helen (10/5): We were very happy with our stay. Fiona came to our rescue when we had trouble with the cooktop. - We were very happy with the Letterbox Cottage it suited our needs perfectly.
- Julie (10/5): Quaint thatched cottage in a perfect spot - Beautiful quaint cottage just like a postcard. Comfy beds. Both rooms have ensuites. Full kitchen with washer. Gorgeous walks through local area. Close to so many places to visit. About 8 minutes to Chipping Campden. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. Nothing
- Timothy (10/5): We would definitely return to this cottage. It was beautiful. Highly recommended. - A gorgeous cottage in a beautiful, quiet village. The garden was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out in the sunshine. The kitchen had everything we needed for catering for 4 people. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. We were able to have a fire on some evenings. There was some kindling and wood to get us going and a farm shop close by sold extra supplies and also fabulous fresh and frozen homemade meals. Our group of 4 loved everything about this cottage. The ceilings and beams were quite low but could be easily managed.
- Claudine (10/5): Dream cottage in the Cotswolds - The picturesque cottage and serene location was second to none. We loved having a cottage to ourselves and it wasn't difficult to find. The facilities were easy to use with the help of a guide book left at the cottage and the owners were quick to reply to our queries. Lovely place...aside from the occasional head bumps, we really are going to miss the cottage and the beautiful walks the surrounding countryside had to offer. Bedding for baby cot was missing but we used extra bedding from fourth bed.
- Rob (9/5): Beautiful cottage in peaceful and stunning surroundings - Beautiful cottage in a stunning location.
Efficient heating in dining area.
Good for walks Small basin in the master bedroom.
Difficult to maintain hot water for baths and showers. Sometimes showers and baths ran cold.
Difficult for taller people
- Tracey (8/5): Very good - Beautiful setting and house very clean and tidy. Low ceilings and tight spiral staircase was an issue. Would have been helpful to have the house name on the gate as we were unsure if it belonged to the neighbours.
- Karine (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage offering the full British country experience. We loved it! Everything was frankly great!
- Lyndsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (8/5): Very good - Lovely cottage, rustic and appealing Only 2 out of 4 cooker hob rings worked.
Kettle missing scale filter.
No welcome pack as pictured
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Lovely old thatched cottage. Location was perfect for us as close to all of the places we visit regularly. Heating worked well and we were plenty warm enough for such an old property. Adjusted the timings on the heating controls slightly. We have open fires at home so enjoyed the same while away. Bearing in mind the shape of the roof both bedrooms had ensuites which were well designed and worked well for us all. Milk in the fridge on arrival was nice. Incredibly quiet at night, wonderful.
Hosts were v helpful prior to arrival. Not really anything but if, like me, you're over 6ft, the doorways, stairs and bathrooms take a little time to get use to but that is part of the charm.
- Stephen (10/5): An absolutely beautiful cottage in a stunning area. - An absolutely beautiful property inside and out. The property was so nice that we didn’t want to leave for or trips during our stay. One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. Super minor but we are used to a queen sized bed.
- Damian (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and well equipped. Perfect location to explore. Doorways (although we understand that this can’t be helped!)
- Susie (10/5): a perfect gem - Everything was fabulous! Nothing!
- Roger (9/5): Superb -
- Marian (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was beautiful and quaint had everything you would need for a comfortable stay
- Peter (9/5): Peter - Had everything we needed in rural setting, idealic cottage with beautiful garden Low ceilings kept hitting head, didn't expect it would be so far distant from Chipping Camden
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Diane (7/5): On the whole a very enjoyable stay. - Location was perfect for the purpose of our stay. Very near to the wedding venue and plenty of local walks. Pretty, traditional thatched cottage with some original features. Key safe too high up. Wouldn't have been able to operate it if I'd been on my own. Sofas uncomfortable.
- Marta (6/5): Dart in the heart of the cotswoyin a real cottage - The location to visit the east part of the COTSWOOLDS is ideal. It is located in a perfect typical COTSWOOLDS village You need to strip out the meds and put away clothes for laundry
They should make you aware how narrow and short the building is. I don’t think is suitable for medium-big size people
I think it is a little pricey for what you get
- Mary (6/5): Pleasant - It was in a quaint, quiet area. I did not like the old building. Ceilings were far too low. Bathroom was tiny and smelly. If you are into rustic accommodation then you will love it. Just not for me. In a very isolated location with no nearby facilities. Make sure you take any supplies you may need.
- Sandra (8/5): Good - The cottage was lovely. The garden was awful, in need of urgent attention. Very overgrown and made accessing the property difficult.
- Martin (7/5): A good and interesting cottage in a lovely area. - n/a n/a
- Minka (10/5): Exceptional - Location
- Douglas (9/5): Superb - The cottage garden, the sheep bathing, the beams and irregular walls, original features combined with modern comforts. It was hard to fit in the gate.
- Christopher (9/5): It met our needs perfectly. - Self catered, so fine, we brought what we needed, but there were nice welcoming touches like the pint of milk in the fridge - even though we didn't actually use it. We did need a bit of heating in the evening, and it took a bit of experimenting to work it, but once we had found out how, it was quick and efficient. There was something else where it said 'see the house instructions' but we could find no mention of whatever it was in there. As you can tell it was not significant. Particularly comfortable beds. Maybe a nightlight on the stairs?
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - This is a really beautiful cottage, well equipped and tastefully furnished. It was very cosy and warm and for sightseeing and walking. It's a short walk to the famous Hidcote Gardens - well worth a visit.
- Vanessa (10/5): Adorable and cosy - Perfectly located to explore the Cotswolds, the cottage was warm, comfortable with everything we needed for a great 5 night stay. Highly recommended and we would stay here again.
- Tracey (8/5): despite the ants at this cold time of year, loved it and would recommend for Cotswold cottage stay - pretty thatch and surroundings, beamed ceiling, log fire, comfy beds the indoor ants living downstairs in the flagstones and kitchen work too - need bigger sink in double bed bedroom
