Guest Reviews
- Donna (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): Excellent place to stay Christchurch -
- Dolores (9/5): Ideal accommodation for a short break. - Thoughtful welcome provisions including milk and cereal, plus a bonus bottle of wine. Ideally situated to walk into Christchurch or to Hengistbury Head, or catch the bus to Bournemouth and beyond. Good to have on site parking and use of garden. Would have liked a second small towel.
- Paul (10/5): Accommodation was excellent & packed full of goodies . Super location . -
- Debbie (10/5): - Location was perfect and the room and garden were comfortable and relaxing
- Jenny (9/5): Great value on the door step of many great Hampshire/Dorset locations. - A very thoughtfully designed annex to a modern property. A brilliant couples retreat, as suggested by the blurb. We were wowed with a super bottle of bubbly, very much enjoyed. A fantastic location with a great pub restaurant on a river bank just a few minutes walk. A selection of shops was available. Having a private garden was fabulous for our canine companion (and humans had this had been a summer break). Whilst we did not meet the owners they had gone to a lot of effort to provide plentiful information about the property and immediate area (through their own brochures). From time to time you could hear the owners in the property above but no more so than in a flat or regular hotel. Nothing to dislike at all. The en-suite was great but with a frosted door perhaps would bother some couples.
- Colleen (10/5): - Great little place, we really enjoyed it. So thankful for the milk in the fridge. Had a very welcome cup of tea in the garden. The only thing we thought it could do with is a slip mat in the shower and a dish towel to dry the cups etc.
- Whiffen (8/5): Thank you! We would stay again ☺️ - Perfect for one night that we needed and close to local amenities. Had everything we needed for one night including milk, biscuits, tea bags and toiletries. Was an amount of pet hair which we assume was from previous guests. Only 1 toilet roll supplied.
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect stay in Christchurch - The host had thought of everything; it exceeded expectations. An added bonus was being able to park. It was a lovely room with everything I needed, including access to a private garden; I highly recommend. There was nothing to dislike.
- Donna (9/5): Dog friendly with the Comforts of home. - Location facilities and that they allowed dogs. Having an enclosed garden was a bonus. Lovely to have a coffee machine and toast to make breakfast. I need a chair with a back in to sit and watch the TV etc I took a chair in a bag and that was fine.
- Susan (9/5): Great place to stay for a couple of days. Our friends had previously stayed there. We will stay there again . - Location was excellent - 10 minutes from the river. The room had everything you could want. The garden fully enclosed and very pretty. Spotlessly clean. Nothing
- Karl (9/5): -
- joanna (10/5): Really great place with secure garden for my dog hope to come back soon - Convenient for work on site parking
Lovely touches -jams cereals wine coffee.
Bathroom fantastic shower with supplies (toiletries etc) Nothing
- Anne (10/5): -
- Caz & Kev (10/5): A lovely little haven. - lovely little haven with a great private garden, fully enclosed for dogs. Everything provided that we needed for our stay and more. Great location within walking distance to Christchurch which is full of shops, cafes and restaurants. Great walk along the river. Morning
- Maria (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Perfect base for a short stay to explore this part of Dorset - Great location, lovely garden, and perfect accommodation Nothing!
- Fire Buzzard (8/5): Nice little retreat for a short stay. - Great location for my planned walk to Hengistbury Head and Mudeford Sandbank + the Priory the following morning. Private little garden, modern bathroom with a nice, large walk in shower. The mattress was slightly shorter than a standard double which, as I'm 6'2", affected my sleep as well as there being no curtain on the small window, allowing the lights from the garden and street lights to light up half the room. Also, the fridge was noisier than some which also disturbed my sleep.
- Berendika (8/5): Short comfortable stay - Alles. Goed uitgeruste accomodatie. Helaas door het weer geen gebruik van de tuin kunnen maken. n.v.t.
- andy (8/5): Superbly equipped and fun luxury room, but look out for the pillows! - The location of the room is good and walkable to Christchurch centre, and it was quiet. We were totally blown away by the thought that had gone into equipping the room. Complimentary milk and even a gin and tonic in the fridge, free wood to use on the chimenea, cornflakes and luxury toiletries. The bed was comfy and the garden was fun with imaginative solar lighting and seating. Dog friendly and even a dog bowl provided and we had a good laugh at the gold cutlery. The bathroom was lovely and beautifully lit. There were a couple of things that stopped this being a great stay though. The pillows - oh dear - thoughtful to be two depths but the choice was between an absurdly fat memory foam or a skinny lumpy bag of socks so we couldn't use either comfortably and so slept poorly. The TV is nice but when we tried to watch a movie it was buffering at least half the time - the internet connection is too slow - and so was unwatchable. There were a lot of mosquitos in the garden although a mains repellent had been installed in the bedroom. Lots of complimentary treats but sadly no sugar for the morning cuppa, a simple oversight I'm sure.
- Simon (9/5): The property was a ground floor of a house, that was made to look like a hotel suite. Very spacious for two with added b - Location was ideal and very close to Christchurch town centre Biscoff welcome biscuits were out of date. The only negative I could find
- MariW (9/5): Very enjoyable stay in a clean compact room with lots of extras provided, in an ideal location - The room was clean and very well equipped. It was in an ideal location for what we wanted. It had a private garden with garden furniture which was ideal for us and our 2 dogs. Lots of unexpected little extras were provided which was very generous for the price we paid. It was a little short of hanging and storage space for clothes. Would have appreciated a couple of hooks on the internal door for hanging coats.
- Sarah (7/5): - Location and garden. Good power shower. Didn't have enough worktop space in the kitchen area to make a basic breakfast (toast) even though there was a toaster and microwave. And we were unable to wash our cups, and plates we had to use the bathroom. There was nowhere to hang dresses and shirts. A wardrobe is needed and draws. The garden furniture cushions were mouldy and wet. Therefore, unable to sit on them even though it was sunny.
- Michael (9/5): Nice little place in a great location! - Great location for access to the riverside and town at Christchurch+ great for walks to Mudeford, Hengistbury head and Southbourne.
Nice, artificial turfed, well equipped little back garden with seating, and BBQ facilities.
Room well equipped with microwave, coffee machine (with lots of various pods), fridge, kettle etc.
Nice shower room with excellent shower.
Very good value. Lack of some hanging/ shelf space for clothes. The room is quite small but there is room for a small rail, bedside drawers or perhaps/ some simple shelves? There was a little low level cupboard that wasn't really sufficient. Over all though we thought it was a very nice pleasant room!
- Ann (7/5): -
- Malcolm (10/5): Whenever u travel to the area in future this will be my first choice of accommodation - A little gem, within easy walk of the centre of Christchurch.
Everything you need for your stay & more, the attention to detail is exceptional. Nothing
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Lovely comfy stay at lovely location at a very reasonable price .. - Good parking , clean powerful shower , comfy bed , toaster , kettle & microwave , fridge and a huge selection of drinks and breakfast cereals .. There was a hole in the ceiling above the sink in the bathroom that perturbed be a bit ! I would have preferred fresh milk rather than the long life milk capsules ..
- Simon (10/5): Excellent facilities and wonderful extras - Really enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed and more. Everything has been thought off and enjoyed some excellent extras. Garden was lovely and some great info on local area.
Thank you will be back, when we are next in the area. Happy with everything but a washing up bowl would of been handy.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - N/A
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely garden with seating and lighting
Well placed accommodation close to Christchurch Mudeford and Southbourne
The owner even left us a bottle of wine
- Nick (10/5): Worth every penny. - I think this host really goes out of his way to spoil his guests.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Very well priced flat for a nice short break in Christchurch, walking distance to town, situated in a nice estate 👍 also lovely small private garden Nothing
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (10/5): Amazing relaxing stay - All self contained lovely inside and an amazing garden to chill in
Perfect for my dog and myself
Everything you need fridge kettle microwave
Close to pubs and beach
Definitely come here again Nothing
- Lynn (6/5): Pleasant - Very clean, and lots of utilities, location great. Too small for a couple, no room to actually use the facilities.
- J (9/5): Superb -
- Bowden (9/5): Superb - Excellent location and a perfect small space, clean, well laid out, excellent garden area, lovely extras like coffee and tea, sugar, etc. Generous gifts were much appreciated. Very helpful and friendly host. Highly recommend 👌
- Suey1975 (8/5): Lovely stay good to have outside space and parking - Location very good near the river . Bonus be able to park on the drive. Lovely shower area. Loved the little extras ( wine chocs ) just what we needed after a long journey. Would definitely stay again Bed was a bit small but comfortable. Noise from the heating coming on about 3am . Could do with full length slim wardrobe and tv with all channels ( itv and channel 4)
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Beverley (9/5): Superb -
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little room with additional extras like wine and chocs
- Tavi_maier (10/5): Exceptional - We really appreciate the comfort offered. An excellent management of the accommodation, including brilliant communication.
- Yvonne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (10/5): Super place, super location, super owner. - Beautifully appointed, super clean, secluded, secure, quiet….. I could go on Didn’t find anything not to like
- Martin (10/5): Pleasent 2 day stay in November - Very cosy, great bathroom, solid mattress (I was there by myself). There were complimentary snacks, eg. oatmeal for breakfast, which was a life safer as I was leaving early morning, and cold beer waiting in the fridge or little chocolates.
There is a lovely yard perfect for summer BBQs.
The instructions on how to get there were pretty straightforward. it was all as expected or better.
- Dawn (10/5): I would certainly stay there again and recommend to other people. - I loved the little touches that James provided such as wine ,chocolates beer coke .The apartment was very comfortable and clean. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Excellent - Everything one would need is provided, plates and cutlery etc and so forth , just bring your clothes !!! 😀 Nothing not to like
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional hospitality. Every conceivable comfort had been thought of, quiet clean and private garden! - Privacy and exceptionally safe and comfortable for my small pet dog. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of my hosts. Nothing. It was just perfect.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Great value accommodation. Quiet surroundings off street parking and a short walk to town.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - A cozy place in a charming neighborhood. We also found so many little treat leave for us like jam, coffee, shampoo and etc. If we are in the area we will definitely come back here.
- Roy (9/5): Great private relaxing - Lovely excellent hosting bonus items most unusual but much appreciated Dish cloth would be handy
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): A great weekend - A lovely place to spend a short break. Easy walk into the town and a short walk to the ferry. Very clean and there were a lot of small touches that the owner had done that made it a great place to stay
- Graham (8/5): Great find, reasonable price and Host lovely. - Location was very good, close to amenities. Host very helpful and available. Fridge contained extras, also tea bags and coffee free for use. Selection of toiletries also available. Perhaps more attention to detail between visitors. Out of date egg mayonnaise left in fridge. Glasses not clean. No spare bin bags, and perhaps a dustpan and brush or small hand held hoover would be good, as we travelled with our dog, and we like to keep hair to a minimum.
- Anne (9/5): Fabulous! - We had a brilliant surprise for my birthday! The wine was really good!
The room is very comfortable and tastefully decorated!
We had everything we needed and more… Nothing!
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danny (10/5): The perfect stay in Christchurch - Great location, owner was so thoughtful! Lots of amenities and treats. Garden was amazing - had a great time Nothing
- Yvonne (10/5): Exceptional - Location, easy check in, the little extras
- Eddie (8/5): Great location, lovely host, extremely good value for money! - Great little find. I travel around a lot fishing so having something close to the water and comfortable with all the amenities you need was great. James sent me everything I needed for access and finding what I needed. Great stay! Only slight criticism, but only slight, is the walls are paper thin so a light sleeper could be annoyed by the noise from upstairs..
- Ken (6/5): Host brilliant. But very small room - The location excellent. The host excellent.bathroom excellent.Extras ie wine, tea bags ,coffee, shampoos, biscuits, cereal excellent Very small property.Lots of dog hairs which stuck to my socks, and a lot of dust behind the fridge. And the garden needed badly weeding, and trees pruning
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Ideal for our needs.
Excellent location.
Everything we needed and more.
- Ruth (8/5): Great property and would definitely do back - Good location and well equipted. Great that it had parking and a garden, lovely bathroom and was good value for money. The welcome booklet was really good and lovely to have good quality wine glasses and lovely touches, wine, chocolates, cereal and more. Hosts were also very accommodating. There was nothing that we didn't like, but the fridge was a bit smelly, it could do with full length wardrobe to hang a few dresses and a bit more work surface. The bed was a bit soft for us and it would have been nice to have cotton duvet set. Just little improvements.
- Wing (9/5): Perfect for a bank holiday escape to the seasidr - Lovely studio with outdoor 'sitting room'. James was great with being in touch before arrival to make sure we were all set up for our stay. Really appreciated the little touches that made us feel welcome. Puppy and I loved it here!
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Sheena (9/5): Would definitely visit again - This location is fantastic, a short walk away from Southbourne Beach and the on-site car parking was very handy. I always struggle to find a suitable place to stay with my dog (Millie), but this was great!
Not only was there a secure garden for Millie to run about in, but it was well maintained and had garden seating & a bbq!
The room itself was well-furnished, cosy and the chocolates on the pillow & bottle of wine were a great touch! It had everything we needed! For me personally the bed was too soft and I struggled to get comfortable and sleep. It was a struggle to make toast and a coffee in the morning as there was no proper table to do so (really minor). There wasn't a curtain on the window so meant we had a lot of sun come in the mornings (good excuse to get up and make the most of the full day). There was also a lot of noise when the upstairs residents were walking and talking.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - A gorgeous little gem in Tuckton. Superb location with the use of a wonderful little garden. Lovely extra touches included flexible check in and a bottle of wine. Tea, coffee and biscuits too. Will definitely be back. Nothing
- Katie (9/5): Superb -
- Gina (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (7/5): Would look elsewhere next time. - The location was great. Parking was available at no extra cost. The fee was reasonable. The cons were noise. You could hear everything above you. Creaking floor boards and conversations. There is no noise insulation. There were ear plugs left on both bedside tables so they are clearly aware of the noise.
There is a keyhole that you can see directly into the room from the outside so that is a privacy concern.
There was also a hole above the sink near the shower in the bathroom. That may be nothing but struck me as odd.
I would not stay here again.
- Trisha (10/5): Perfect , met my needs completely - Lovely little room , clean and tidy and a very much appreciated bottle of wine 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Nothing
- Ashley (10/5): Very pleasant in a quiet area nicely situated between Christchurch and Southbourne. - It was decorated to a very high standard, the space was utilised really well, with a small fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle facilities, plenty of extras ( including a bottle of red wine) and the bathroom was very tastefully designed with a large wall in shower. Nothing
- Carole (8/5): Very pleasant, comfortable stay and would happily rebook. Owner very approachable and answered my queries quickly and he - Comfortable and some nice touches such as cookies and little welcome chocolates in room. Liked the fridge and useful to have toaster & microwave although I didn’t need them this visit. Parking on site very helpful. Prefer a non-smart, simple tv for good old terrestrial channels/radio! Also prefer a chair rather than a stool.
- Deb (9/5): A Haven , away from home will return . - Everything , lovely room , garden , location had a microwave & fridge . Great hot shower and a fab late check out comfortable bed .
- Lisalm1971 (10/5): Ideal for singles or couples. - First visit here and I'll definitely come back. I needed to get away for one night on my own and this had everything necessary for me to be comfortable! Microwave, cutlery, different teas, Coffee, and Hot chocolate, milk in the fridge and even some little chocolates. Shower was lovely as were the big towels. Extra bonus for the comfy blanket too. Netflix, peace, comfy bed, cushions, and everything to hand. The Check In/Check Out times are flexible so that's a major plus. Nothing.
- Sarah (9/5): A great place for a weekend stay . - Clean conveniently positioned and ideal for a dog Nothing
