Guest Reviews
- Margaret (10/5): Excellent - Spotlessly clean , everything there that we needed , outdoor space good, village lovely , 2 bathrooms a benefit , friendly neighbours Nothing loved everything
- Clive W (10/5): We had a fabulous stay here. Hope to come again in the spring/summer. - The cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived on a cold windy day. Very well equipped. Great location round the corner to an excellent shop and pub. Village location, but only a minutes walk into countryside. Spotlessly clean. Furnishings a bit dated. Sitting/dining room could do with a bit more mood lighting. TV too high to watch if you are aged over 12.

- Jane (9/5): Great property, good quiet location, lots of places to visit. - Very clean and well maintained, neighbours very friendly and helpful.
- Sue (10/5): The loveliest house in a beautiful village. - Beautiful, comfortable house. really well equipped, comfortable beds, two amazing bathrooms with powerful showers and set in a really quiet area on a small estate. The kitchen has everything you need, great hob and oven, and the lounge is comfortable with two small sofas. As it was 30 degrees when I was there, I made good use of the garden and garden furniture. There are also cushions for the furniture.
Cornhill is a lovely village with a fantastic local shop selling deli products and some really nice cakes. Plus locally made gin! Jean next door is absolutely delightful and very welcoming.
There is a community centre about 2 minutes away with a great dog walking/exercise area.
I travelled alone to visit friends and although I've been visiting for 30 years, I've never felt so safe. I will definitely return to this house. Nothing at all. A word of caution is that the garden isn't secure so keep an eye on dogs. Perhaps it's time to replace the dining chairs as one looks a little like it has been chewed. Still perfectly comfortable though.
- Richard (8/5): A comfortable property and a good location for exploring the surrounding area. - A handy location as we stopped for a couple of days on our way to Scotland. We found lots of interesting things to explore in the area, including a visit to Flodden Field battlefield and the Ford and Etal estates. The village shop is very well stocked, and we ate at the local hotel one evening.
- Gillian (10/5): This was the perfect accommodation for me, my husband and adult daughter and our only regret was that we didn’t stay lon - Pelshaven is a lovely property that is comfortable and well-equipped and lovely and peaceful. Nothing
- Jane (10/5): Extremely comfortable, clean and lovely cottage in a quiet location. - Wonderful cottage in a very quiet location. Lovely beds, great showers and all facilities, and we enjoyed the Scottish theme throughout - as well as the shortbread, thank you.
The village shop was excellent too. Nothing.
- Jenny (10/5): Lovely house thoughtfully equipped - Very well equipped like a home away from home Nothing
- Cat (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent facilities and location
- Hilliard (10/5): We were there for the Skerryvore concert house was superb! concert was exceptional but the winner is Skerryvore. “AWESO - We had a lovely stay at this property. Every thing that we looked for was in the property and it could not have been tidier. Inside and outside this property was a wee bit special than others that I have stayed in a genuine 4 star experience. Not so much about the property but the entrance code received by email from Booking. Com was incorrect. Silly me as I should have used the one supplied by the property management team. But hey ho we were saved by Bonnie Jean our next door neighbour who got hubby to supply the correct code to the key safe. You would think that all was well after that but no because once locking the door from inside we had a few goes at removing the key as it has to be in the horizontal position not the usual vertical.
- Kay (10/5): Cornhill - Clean, well equipped, nearby shop great for pies and pastries
Local restaurant nice and handy
- Pauline (10/5): Lovely property in a quiet location - It was in a lovely quiet area, ideal for touring about Nothing

- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - Light, bright, comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. Comfortable beds, very clean.

- Michal (10/5): Nice cottage, clean, modern and well equipped in a quiet location. - Nice cottage, clean, modern and well equipped in a quiet location.
- Helen (9/5): We stayed over Christmas and it really was lovely and cosy. Perfect :) - Such a cosy place
- Curtis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location - quite with parking
- Ann (9/5): Very comfortable, exactly what we wanted - Nice and clean. Location excellent, handy for the wonderful village shop and the pub. Comfortable and well equipped. A cot was provided at no extra cost, thank you. Just one minor maintenance issue reported to the management. It would have been nice if the heating had been put on for us when we arrived.
- Matthew (10/5): excellent accommodation for salmon fishing, very comfortable - perfect for our annual salmon fishing trip
- Veness (7/5): Good - Perfect location. Comfortable. Only 4 places settings of cutlery. No dishwasher.
A bit grubby in places- coasters and place mats and edge of dining table. The fridge needed wiping out. Dustwebs , skirtings in main bedroom very dusty.
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely area and everything we needed
- Denis (10/5): Wish that we could have stayed for a longer time! - My friend wanted a coffee plunger!
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Total modern throughout, everything you need for a quiet stay to relax. Nothing at all
- Lindsaye (8/5): Beautifully presented cottage, spotlessly clean, in great location for lots of places eg Alnwick, Bamburgh, Cragside, Ch - Great location with friendly helpful neighbours. Tiny observations rather than not liking - could do with some hooks in the bathroom for towels etc and a bit more clothes storage in double bedroom.
- Lesley (9/5): Quiet, pretty cottage in superb location - Cottage has everything you need, although a fan heater would be useful in a cool summer evening.
Great location for visiting Northumberland especially.
Second visit and we intend returning again soon Everything was fine
- Abeygail (10/5): Just perfect for a base to explore the local area - The property has all the facilities I needed for a lovely stay
- Janet (10/5): Awesome - This property is just gorgeous. Beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and well set up.
Kitchen has everything you might need. We had a fabulous meal at the Collingwood Pub which is only a walk around the corner. There is also a very well equipped village shop. Nothing
- Wendy (8/5): Good location comfortable accommodation. - Good location near a very good hotel restaurant and near interesting places and venues. No kitchen towel and a shame that the wood burner was not to be used.
- Eric (10/5): Exceptional - Immaculate cottage, well equipped , wanted for nothing. Lovely peaceful location . Perfect stay Nothing to dislike at all
- Eddie (9/5): Even an Air Frier & George Forman Grill -
- Matthew (8/5): Very good - cold and damp, needed the wood burning stock on to dry and heat the house up
clothing in the wardrobes started to become damp etc
- Catherine (9/5): Fabulous stay at a well appointed cottage with only slight improvements ie as previously stated. - Location was good. The cottage was lovely & we would stay again. It was well stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen. It has tv’s in both bedrooms plus plenty of board games dvd’s to entertain everyone. Sky would be a bonus. The bathroom could do with a heated towel rail & somewhere to hang your bathrobe/clothes while you are having a shower.
The sofa’s leg was broken when we arrived & we were unable to sit on it for 2 days. we were 3 adults & the cottage only had 2 chairs & the sofa which was broken. 1 of us had to sit on a dining chair until the handyman come in and propped it up with 3 blocks of wood it was still like that when we left.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage in a great area. Very comfortable and relaxing. All great.
- Patrick (10/5): Just what we needed. Would recommend. - The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything that we needed. Nothing
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberly (8/5): Very good - Excellent accommodation at a fair price for a weekend, peaceful and quiet location. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family Missing kitchen roll when we arrived and maybe could do with antibacs. The hoover didn't pick up great with the attachment but was fine with the hose.
TV in the front room no longer supported some of the apps, for example ITV player. Web browser didn't work on TV ( fire TV stick maybe something that could work better without needing updates)
- Denise (10/5): everything I wanted from my trip away was found in this lovely cottage - lovely and clean and tidy very welcoming nothing not to like
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and fresh and spacious It was all lovely
- Tracey (9/5): Holiday - Excellent location, friendly neighbourhood, fantastic food at nearby hotel. A gate would be good in garden at the back for dog.
- Susie (2/5): Very poor - There was no heating on on arrival and no instructions as to how to turn it on although we did manage to work it out. The log burner was not set, nor was there anything to burn. The place was freezing!
- Lesley (10/5): Superb h ok me from home, had everything we wanted and ideal location for touring. - Quiet area which was just what we wanted perhaps a coat rack in the hall would be a good idea for outside coats
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous little cottage, had everything we needed. Loved the decor very cosy. Loads of choice of DVDS. The locals are all super friendly. Lovely meal at the Collingwood Arms. Will definitely be returning.
- Robin (9/5): a perfect place for escapism, exploration and relaxation - the location was ideal for coast and country I was very satisfied with the property
- Helen (8/5): lovely weekend visiting family the cottage was great - clean and roomy needed a little more kitchen utensils
- Jacquetta (7/5): we were working nearby so very comfortable local bar hotel very nice - comfortable location . if I was on holiday it would have been
a bit residential, although friendly neighbourhood
- Chris (7/5): good but expensive - good location and newly decorated we thought it was expensive compared to other places we have stayed recently in the same area
- Graham (6/5): Disgusted at first, got better after the cottage got a late clean - The location of the property was good for our holiday needs, visiting sites and seeing friends Didn't like turning up after a 7hour drive to find the cottage hadn't been cleaned, dirty unmade beds, waste paper bins all full, toilet hadn't been flushed, wet and dirty bath towels on the bathroom floor. Not a good start I'm afraid.
