Guest Reviews
- KATHLEEN (10/5): -
- Margaret (8/5): A delightful place near the beach šļø - Cosy and gorgeous
- Allyson (8/5): Shepherds Hut - It was a delightful little hut. Tv and a lovely fabric ceiling. Location was wonderful. So near the beach and high street. Peaceful at night. Lots of solar lights to guide you to the loo at night time. Just be careful to bring little luggage in. Tight for space.
Only criticism was there wasnt any Milk. Got there after 8pm. The last convenience shop closed at 6pm. Was gutted. Had a long journey to get her and so was in need of a cup of tea. Only 3 tea bags as well. For 2 people staying. Ummm.Went begging for milk at the local Cricket Club. They kindly let me have some. Phew.
If it hadn't been for lack of milk I wouldve rated this place higher. It really was cute and mins from the beach. A lovely place to stay. Warm and cosy. Table and chairs outside. Lovely garden. A very enjoyable stay. There not being any milk. I would expect that in any air B& B. And at least 6 tea bags wouldve been agreeable for 2 people staying.
- Nicola (9/5): Cosy romany caravan near northumberland coast - Cosy caravan in lovely location. Proprietor very helpful.
- Phil (7/5): Cost glamping in Alnmouth - Location in centre of Alnmouth, near beach. Parking was available close by. Surrounded by other properties and high rise building reduced privacy especially when going to separate toilet facilities.
Locale not as peaceful as expected, noise from neighbour's and family of wood pigeons on the roof and garden!
- Martin (10/5): -
- Claire (10/5): Cosy, comfortable & close to the sea. Perfect. - Well looked after and cosy. Loved having the outside secure space for the dog.
- Stephen (10/5): So peaceful and relaxing - Everything Nothing
- Fiona (10/5): - Lovely little glamping hut, it was very clean with everything you need for a short stay. Literally 2 minutes from the beach and high street. Very cosy so don't bring too much with you.
- a64681b0c14c726a355e182fb81d2434 (9/5): Great one night pit stop - Great for a one night pit stop as we walked part of the coastal footpath. Very small, but very comfortable. Nothing.
- 68816818346f72269d2201c1f4530617 (10/5): - My stay was absolutely perfect, from the location, to the cleanliness, to the helpful owners. I can't wait to come back!
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Erg comfotabel bed en het uitzicht aan de achterkant van de tuin. Het was een hele leuke ervaring om in een huifkar te slapen. Dat er geen kookplaatje was
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect relaxing coastal retreat! - First time staying here but can't wait to return for another relaxing break.
The booking process and communication from the host was first class as was the whole experience.
The host was very accommodating to a health issue I had for the flexible checking out process which was greatly appreciated.
The accommodation and private garden grounds were beautiful and perfect for my needs and those of my dog.
Everything was very clean and the caravan is very cosy and has a large, comfortable mezzanine bed, heater and TV. The free WiFi reception was excellent.
The separate kitchen and bathroom facilities were also well appointed and very clean. It had everything needed for an amazing, relaxing stay.
The location was only a minute walk to the beautiful beach and main street. Thank you. There was a slight issue with my dog escaping once under the trees near the garden gate as it was not totally secure but he came back straight away so it wasn't a major issue.
This is a minor point and nothing to do with the amazing accommodation experience itself but I happened to stay on a bin collection day which woke me up early and was very loud in the back lane near the accommodation and also the council grass cutting at 8.30am so no lie in midweek on the Thursday but this couldn't be helped.
- Alan (10/5): - Cosy and warm inside. Nice enclosed garden for dog Nothing
- Claudia (10/5): Alnmouth retreat - We liked the caravan because it was beautifully presented, spotlessy clean and very warm. The proximity to the beach was fabulous. The owners went out of their way to make us very welcome. There is nothing not to like.
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Gillian (7/5): Not a bad place to stay and would be lovely in the spring and summer. - The bed was very comfortable, lots of extra touches such as a heater, TV, additional blankets, hot water bottles. Kitchenette had tea, coffee and sugar. The venue was smaller than expected but storage room under the bed . Decent bathroom. There was a good size garden.
- Joan (8/5): - Great location for walking along the coast, close to pubs and coffee shops. Very cosy gypsy caravan, really small and compact, so you need to sit outside if you're eating in. We had good weather so that was no problem. Heater warmed the caravan up very quickly, bed is very comfy and there's a TV. The kitchen and bathroom are in a separate hut, and again, very compact but with everything you need. The area is secure so no escaping dog, two seating areas and you get the sun for most of the day. Just be aware it's very small. There's no hob - we hadn't read the details properly. Could do with a step up for the seating area on the decking.
- stephen (8/5): Really enjoyed myself and will return! - This was a glamping and first time personally to such accommodation! The double bed was comfy, to areas on the plot to sit and enjoy a pleasant open space, and a short walk to centre of the village It surpassed my expectations , so more than happy with everything!
- Gary (9/5): An idyllic n ery relaxin place. - The location - great for the beach, walking and the little main street. The caravan was in an idyllic secluded garden. Everything was as described and very comfortable. The sound of bins being moved/emptied from the little alleyway. There's noting that can be done about this, but it was the only less than superb thing.
- Leanne (9/5): - excellent location.
warm and cosy. comfy bed
- Chrissie (10/5): So cosy and comfy, super helpful hosts 𩵠- It was so lovely!!! On its own so no privacy concerns and the bed was sooo comfy best sleep Iāve had in a while! Has a parking permit so it is a lot easier to get parked, brilliant facilities and the owners were so lovely and helpful even going through the effort of putting balloons up as it was my boyfriendās birthday! Simply just the walk to the bathroom in the rain but to be expected that the facilities arenāt inside the pod as itās a little hut! :)
- Sarah (10/5): -
- John (10/5): Perfect and cosy - Fantastic quirky property !
Perfect and cosy , great location !
Perfect for me to escape for my birthday , just me my wife and dog .
Definitely will use again I canāt think of anything I didnāt like
- Teresa (7/5): We still had a fab stay, great walks in the beach, perfect little gift shop. The only thing was a feeling of being cramm - Right next to the beach, super cosy feel and incredibly cute setting. While all facilities were catered for thereās the inconvenience of having bathroom and kitchenette in a separate outhouse. We were pleased the weather was good and we could get out all day as thereās no room for a couple to sit comfortably with 2 border collies in the same space. We adored the look of the accommodation and the location but felt the lack of space outweighed the cuteness and therefore feel overpriced for November. Possibly consider how many this comfortably caters for?
- Brenda (5/5): Lacks security and no night time lighting. Will not visit again. - It was alright during day time, kept clean and tidy When night time came it was pitch black, making the going to the toilet at night a hazard me and my husband fell over several times as their was zero visibility. In the morning of our departure there was lights on under the cabin which hadnāt been on the two previous nights. The gate being accessible by simple putting your hand through and being able to open it without a pass code made me barley sleep at all. The lock on threats cabin is pointless you can pull down the handle and it open with entering pass code. Was the worst two nights sleep weāve had as we felt so unsafe.
- Gary (1/5): - Nothing Everything
- Julie (10/5): Lovely cosy cabin in a perfect location. - As described. Cosy and clean. A cute little cabin with all the amenities it needed. Exceptional location. Very good communication from the host. There was nothing bad about the stay.
- Simon (7/5): - Location superb.
Easy access from top.
Cosy comfy bed. More of a summer venue, as would benefit from some cover for the outdoor seats, umbrella or some kund of porch maybe.
Firepit or chiminea would be a good addition.
Had a couple of small issues that were quickly sorted out.
- Andrew (8/5): Really nice quirky place , great location - Loved the heater , warmed up the hut quick so was very comfortable, location was perfect and so was the communication through email and the self check in was handy. Bed was really comfy
WiFi- excellent
Parking permit also great The obvious outside toilet wasnāt ideal but we were more than aware of it when booked, think the bathroom floor needs looked at as the water from shower sits and floods. Bathroom was clean.
Also think there should be an automatic light outside when you walk to toilet during the night as could not see.
- louise (10/5): Perfect š - Quirky little find. Hidden in a garden but still secluded, 2 mins walk to beach which my dogs loved. 5mins to lots of friendly pubs/restaurants. Has the glamping feel but with toilet/shower/kitchen within the enclosed garden. Bed was so comfy and my feet kept warm all night without the heater on in freezing conditions. Thereās plenty blankets, hot water bottles but honestly didnāt need them. Had heater on for a bit whilst I sipped on some red wine, Tv on and dogs comfortably slept on floor. Was advised might be tight for 2 labs but they slept perfect. It was very windy and snowy , the hut was sturdy no rocking like a caravan or motorhome can. Stock up on supplies in Alnwick prior as only seen a little village shop so ventured to lidl 4 miles away. Has coffee/tea/sugar, Lou roll , towels, etc.. so just bring milk. Hosts were amazing , let me stay longer than check out due to the snow, hoping roads would clear. Scary drive up-to A1 still but made it home safely. Amazing place ā¤ļø will definitely be back thank you Sam just what I needed after the chaos of Christmas. Travelled alone with 2 dogs, felt safe as a solo female š Nothing!
- Mark (9/5): -
- Annalice (10/5): Perfect for what we needed - Very comfy bed . Lovely and cosy
- Judith (8/5): -
- Gary (8/5): - Lovely and cosy and warm Canāt complain
- Morag (10/5): -
- Carla (9/5): -
- Charles (10/5): - Unexpected little Oasis in the centre of town
- James (10/5): Brilliant relaxing stay - Exactly as described with excellent facilities Nothing
- Geoff (6/5): Beautiful place and excellent location - Location
Quirkiness
Comfort Unfortunately our dog kept escaping from the garden through a gap in the hedgerow which meant we couldnāt relax and enjoy sitting in the garden without constantly checking where he was
- Martin (8/5): - Location and quirky nature. Nicely enclosed. Very close to the Beach. Friendly locals. Good customer service. Poor weather might make the outside facilities a little less easy to use
- Simon (8/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful owner and amazing location for great value .such a beautiful stay.
- Kathryn (10/5): Little hidden gem - Amazing service from the start we booked this last minute and the hosts were amazing! Perfect little spot and so cosy and clean! Thank you
- Jason (10/5): - Booked four nights here with my wife and Cocker Spaniel. Very cosy and warm, the kitchenette and toilet are separate but we camp so this wasn't an issue for us. It had everything we needed. We loved our morning walk along the immaculate beach although our dog loved it more š. Very close to the beach and to pubs)shops. We ate out every day but the kitchenette had a microwave and large fridge had we decided to stay in. Alnmouth is a place I spent a lot of time at when I was a child, it's a shame it's taken me 40 years to go back. We would definitely stay here again and can't thank the owners enough, they contacted me to make sure everything was ok and asked me to contact them if I had any issues, I didn't need to contact them as everything was great. Nothing.
- Chart (10/5): Quirky, memorable, beautiful experience! - What a delight this place is. It's charming and quirky, so close to the beach, which was perfect for me and my little doggy. I really can't say anything negative about it, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Place was spotless, bed was really comfy, was lovely, really cosy. Shower and kitchen were spot on, everything I needed. I wish I could have stayed another night but had to get back for work. If you're looking for something a bit different, don't think twice about booking. Have to say it's been a really cool and beautiful experience, which I will remember. Sam, the host was brilliant, nothing was a bother. Thank you very much! Already recommended to friends and family 𤩠Nothing, I liked all of it!
- Kathleen (10/5): - Every thing a great one night break Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Loved it and will definitely go back - It was so welcoming
- Edginton (10/5): Romani Retreat ā¤ļø - Everything and more! Beautiful accommodation! Stunning beaches! Amazing views! Highly recommend š š Definitely booking this gem of a find again and again. Sam was so helpful from start to finish šš„° Nothing!
- Katie (10/5): -
- Jenney (10/5): Great short stay at this pod - excellent communication by the owners, easy to find and so cosy - it was a wonderful stay - Beautiful pod set in great surroundings and perfect for all your needs - I would definitely visit again! Nothing
- Jeremy (9/5): A great little place to stay and a perfect setting to explore Alnmouth and the amazing beaches and c - A great little place to stay and a perfect setting to explore Alnmouth and the amazing beaches and coastline of Northumberland. There was not much to dislike as it was lovely.
- Tracy (7/5): Good location & enjoyed the quirky accommodation - Close to all amenities
Very comfortable bed
Outside seating
Owner very helpful Come outside to get to bathroom facilities
- Ayre (9/5): Lovely caravan in private location, fun, compact - It was lovely, quaint, fun Wouldnāt say I didnāt like anything. Couple of suggestions though - need a shelf for the toilet rolls to keep them away from the shower water, and could do with a retractable washing line to dry towels etc
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional - Had a lovely stay in Alnmouth in this cosy little glamping caravan - had everything you need and in a fantastic location.
The owners/staff were very helpful and responsive when needed - overall a really great experience :)
- Sheila (9/5): Romani Retreat - I loved the security and the seclusion.
The bed was so comfortable. I was surprised at how small the Romani Retreat was. Pleased I was on my own very comfortable. Think I would have struggled if I had to share.
- Helen (10/5): I was celebrating my 60th birthday and I couldn't have chosen a more special place to be. - It was all perfect, although I write this reluctantly because I don't want anyone else to stay there! An adorable caravan, immaculate facilities and set in a lovely private garden. The host was so helpful...a perfect combination of making sure I had everything I needed but also letting me have the privacy. Nothing
- Sue (5/5): Lovely cabin, shame about the vicinity - The little garden setting was nice, nice plants, clean kitchen and toilet area, lovely seating and low level lighting a small walk from beach, pubs and Main Street. Host was extremely responsive The pictures donāt show you the outlook and immediate area of the accommodation which is not in a desirable setting. Council flats is your front view which are noisy late at night. Also read the size of the room because the photos elongate and distort how small it actually is - me and the husband and 2 dogs - far too small I should have read the small print better. The second photo is the view from the main door
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable bed. Great location, a few minutes walk from the coastal path and walking distance from pubs and village shop.
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional - excellent location with 1 min walk to the beach. The caravan is clean and very cosy.
The staff are nice and reply to messages quickly.
- Hilary (8/5): Quirky but comfortable stay in an inspiring location - Quirkiness ⦠access to beach & town. People talking loudly in garden next door
- Garry (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent cosy accommodation.
Great location in the centre of the village. Nothing.
- Catherine (10/5): We will be back! - Beautiful quirky little caravan! So clean and well equipt. Close to one of Northumberlandās beautiful beaches. Nothing!
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly and helpful hosts. Immaculate stay in beautiful surroundings. Super comfy bed. Really enjoyed my stay and would rebook and recommend.
- Edward (10/5): Fun. - Easy to find. A mini adventure
- Melvyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanna (8/5): Comfortable Overnight Stay - Very quirky, great location, quiet and bed was really comfortable. Maybe need shelving / more hooks in wet room to keep things dry when showering.
Coffee, tea and sugar were provided, but a small container of milk would have been a nice finishing touch as we arrived late in the day and shops were not readily available.
- Dunton (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Jarvis (9/5): Great Time - Loved the quirkiness of caravan. ideal for our stay Thought on camp, behind block of flats in lockup garden. but very nice still
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carroll (10/5): A lovely stopover but wanted to stay much longer - It was a quirky place to stay, cosy wee caravan in it's own little garden with seating outside and a bbq. The bed was so comfy! The location was excellent, quite tucked away but only a minute from a beautiful beach and the main street with plenty places to eat and drink, takeaways, deli, grocery and gift shops. We only stayed a night but would have loved to stay a few nights.
- Alex (10/5): We came away feeling very relaxed and refreshed, will definitely be back! - I stayed here with my dog and it was fantastic being so close to the beach. There is so much to do in the surrounding area with lots of lovely walks and a golf course just a few minutes away.
The bed was very comfortable and the check-in process was easy with a permit for parking on the street near by.
- Stephen (5/5): Would suit some but not for me. - It may appeal to some people, the owners have done an excellent job with the kitchen and bathroom facilities. Location was not how I imagined overlooked by lots of buildings and flats.
If in bed and you need the toilet, you have to get dressed and go to the outside bathroom.
Not really suitable for a dog, I only have a small cockerpoo but anything bigger and you would really struggle.
- Helena (7/5): Good - Good location, fun accommodation with lovely private garden out the wind. Caravan would have been better not being overlooked by the flats but facing the other direction. Less pigeon pop in table and chairs
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Richards (10/5): Exceptional - The radiator easily made the caravan warm.
- Kathleen (8/5): Great location ,shops & beach close by. - The property was lovely but we took a greyhound & so she took up most of the floor space in the caravan. If you have mobility issues we wouldnāt recommend it because the bed is elevated & you have to use a stool to climb up.Saying that ,the bed was very comfortable,It was ok for a short break but not for longer for us anyhow. Not a dislike really , just not for us who need more space
- Judy (8/5): sheets best ever and towels lovely and lights outside. Thanku! - Soap
Tea bags on view not in cupboard with wash up liquid...unable to find in night as assumed none
- Lynsey (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, lovely place to stay
Helpful & friendly host
- Kenneth (9/5): Brilliant short break. - This was a last minute booking and we had a fun break in this quaint and different type of accommodation. Nothing.
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (9/5): excellent stay in a very friendly place. - excellent location for the coast line, cosy accommodation, value for money, good location for eating and drinking in Alnmouth
- Spence (9/5): A very enjoyable stay with a great location. Super value for money. - Cosy and close to the town and the beach. Lots of information left for you in the caravan telling you of local, restaurants and things to do. Not really dislikes, more suggestions. The shelf above the bed might be better placed above the window. I cut my head when I sat up in the night. Some shelving and extra hooks in the wet-room would be great. Itās is hard to keep towels and clothes dry when showering which is a pain when you need to get dressed before coming out. We went to watch TV in the evening before bed but there was no reception; there was a Fire stick remote but no fire stick. Muddy on the outside, though this was due to losing a tree recently by the looks of it and difficult to find as it was very dark when we arrived without much lighting.
- Fay (5/5): Not suitable for winter lets - Beautiful village and location right next to the beach. Stunning. Owner's dad did come to check I was ok and I appreciated the visit. Television not working and rain coming through the window during storm Darragh meant my sheets were soaked and bedding was in any case on the damp side when I arrived - imo this is not suitable for winter letting. I had to sleep on top of the bedding using the blankets I brought with me. The kitchen and toilet section were freezing cold and going to the toilet was attritional. A heated towel rail would at least provide some warmth. I couldn't face the shower in those conditions. Nowhere to dry my wet clothes or boots which for a beach location in the winter was a miss. I left a day early.
- Beccybumble (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, easy instructions. Private spot, very cosy and good price It would be better if there was a shelf or space in the caravan to put food/drink down. Also a remote control light would also be handy
- Hamilton (1/5): Totally unsuitable for over 70 year olds. Too small, cramped and not at all comfortable. - It was totally ununsuitable for us and we could not stay. We could not stay. My husband is nearly 80 and couldnt climb the ladder to get into bed. The toilet was outside on a very precarious bit of shelt to stand on in order to open and close the door and totally dangerous for us to use in the night. we could not stay and had to book up another place
- Lucienne (10/5): Fabulous! - The Romany caravan was exceptionally cosy, romantic and very comfortable! Good quality bedlinen and lovely mattress. We loved it and were sad to leave!
- Harrison (5/5): Passable - The caravan was clean Very small with no comfortable places to sit. Luckily the weather stayed dry so we could sit outside. Poor lighting at night if you needed to use the toilet.
The TV would not connect to the internet, however we did not contact the owners to rectify this as not bothered about the TV.
Thought it was a little expensive for what it was.
Alnmouth is a lovely place and well worth a visit.
- Jenn (8/5): Glamping - Quaint accomodation. Very private. Comfortable bed.Owner checking in that I was ok. Stepping up to caravan and other facilities challenging for my mobility. Alnmouth,s wi-fi. Can be hit and miss.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Vikki (10/5): Wonderful, cosy gypsy caravan. - Literally seconds from both the river and the beach and pubs and shops! The caravan was beautiful and the bed was so cosy it was hard to get out of it in the morning! It was lovely to have your own private garden space and 2 different seating areas. Everything was very clean and new looking. Lovely hot shower and so good to have your own private facilities. My first experience of glamping, and possibly not ideal for me as I need to visit the loo several times during the night, which is a bit of a wrench when you have to leave the cosy caravan and go out in the rain! And a big spider tried to get in the kitchen my first night, but was probably more scared of me to be honest, and didn't return!
- Joanne (10/5): Clamping in Almouth - Cute and comfortable stay, perfect location a minute to the beach. Close to the village and choice of places to eat. Lovely garden and a perfect getaway. Highly recommend.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - quirky..cosy...hideaway...immaculately clean and nice touches of pretty garden and milk..hand soap.. tea towel ..sponge ..tea..coffee.. sugar and towels..hot water bottles..little touches that meant you could just turn up and relax and enjoy a nice cuppa...if you fancy something a little different...definitely give it a go...oh forgot to mention there is a lovely view from the seating area on the decking.... access bit difficult for unloading belongings...we not spring chick's so younger guests may not find it a problem (and we had our dog in tow)and felt bit eery in dark returning to the site....but felt secure
- Philippa (7/5): Good - Very unique and cosy, perfect for us getting away as a couple.
- Andrew (7/5): Idea is good for one or two night stay we stayed a week and couldnāt wait to go just wrong location for us like being i - The appeal and location Noisy neighbours in block of flats every night sometimes till 2 in morning playing music loud shouting and arguing someoneās wake up alarm at 4 every morning sometimes going off for ages
- Curtis (9/5): Lovely - highly recommend - Fantastic location for the beach and village high street. Really comfortable place to stay. The bed was comfy and the kitchen and bathroom in the separate little cabin had everything I needed. I had good weather so could enjoy the outdoor chairs as well. The hosts were helpful and communicative and very accommodating with earlier check in and late check out. Thank you so much! Everything was perfect. A cafetiere in the kitchen would be a super handy addition!
- Darren (10/5): Great glamping getaway - Was a very lovely place, as close as you can get to the beach, very comfy bed slept very well.
Would definitely stay again, our 2 dogs loved being so close to the beach. Thanks Nothing was lovely
- Lisa (10/5): Simplicity is perfection, thatās all thatās needed - Very unique, cozy, location fabulous, basics provided, contact responded quickly above and beyond all requirements Nothing, everything was perfect
