- Lech (7/5): Kleines Zimmer in Chinatown - Das Zimmer ist sauber, und funktional, die Location mitten in Chinatown ist super, das Personal ist nett. Das Zimmer ist viel dunkler als auf den Photos, es wirkt eher wie eine kleine Garage. Das einzige kleine Fenster ist verschlossen und darf nicht geöffnet werden - angeblich um vor Insekten zu schützen aber dafür ist es zu undicht. Es geht wohl eher um die Klimaanlage. Diese roch am Anfang etwas muffig aber nach einem Tag ging es. Ab und zu roch es vom Bad etwas streng nach Kanalisation, was in Verbindung mit dem kleinen Zimmer mit verschlossenem Fenster schon übel war. Was ich sehr merkwürdig fand: im Zimmer lag eine lange Liste mit hohen Strafen für spezifische Schäden wie z.B. 10k THB für Flecken auf der Matratze. Das habe ich in der Form noch nicht gesehen. Für 1-2 Tage noch ok, aber ich würde es nicht für längere Aufenthalte empfehlen.

Plus, it's in a perfect location, 30-40 minutes walk from the main attractions in Bangkok. The atmosphere of the lobby was very calm and relaxing. The primary reason we selected the Old Thai Heng Hotel was it's location in Chinatown. It was completely surrounded by great eateries and bars. There really wasn't anything we didn't like. Somethings may be better than others, but nothing disappointed. If you are looking for a lot of amenities this is not the hotel for you. But if you don't plan to be hanging out in the hotel all day and you are looking for a hotel that gives you easy access to Chinatown (and beyond) this is a great choice.

- Neal (9/5): A decent hotel near Chinatown. - A decent hotel located on a relatively quiet street a few blocks from Chinatown and the blue line Wat Mangkon metro station. The room was clean and well maintained. The bed was particularly comfortable. The breakfast buffet was an extra charge and a little underwhelming. A 500 THB cash damage deposit was required at check in and returned at check out after a staff member was sent to check the room. Plan accordingly. Hot water was a little on the lukewarm side.

Dort gibt es auch direkt eine Metro Station, von der aus man super durch die Stadt kommt. Das Personal war freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Im Zimmer hatten wir alles, was wir brauchten. Es war sauber und alles gut gepflegt. Etwas mehr Ablage / Regal oder Schrank um die Tasche wäre schön gewesen. Insgesamt war ausreichend Platz im Zimmer.
