• Clara (10/5): Really nice place!! - It’s very comfortable and spacious, with a small kitchen, and it’s super clean. The owners are extremely helpful, the woman is lovely and prepared us delicious and plentiful dinners and breakfasts. The man took us to visit the river near the accommodation, and it was a very interesting experience.
• Rogier (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible experience with a family that wants to make sure you get everything you need and more. They served us a delicious dinner to our choice and a perfect Sri Lankan breakfast as well. As a bonus they took us to their land to show all the fruits/tea/herbs/seeds and roots they grow including explanation and answering all our questions. This is better than visiting a plantation open to public! In front of the hous you can even walk down to the almost drie river and climb the rocks and enjoy the brilliant view. For people driving the scenic route from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya this is THE spot to stay overnight.

One of the best aspects of our stay was its ideal location, making it easy to visit all the key attractions in the area. Whether you're exploring nature, historical sites, or simply enjoying the scenic beauty of Kotmale, this homestay is a perfect base. The food was absolutely delicious, prepared with great care, offering a delightful taste of home-cooked Sri Lankan cuisine. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. What made our experience even more special was the warm hospitality of the private host and their family. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, engaging in friendly conversations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Their kindness and hospitality truly set this place apart. Overall, Kotmale Homestay is a gem—a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place with excellent food and a fantastic location. We would love to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
• Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Kothmale Homestay is a place that delights with its unique atmosphere. The room is exceptionally comfortable and charming, making your stay here a real pleasure. The bathroom, though small, is very well designed, clean, and functional. A big advantage is the small kitchenette where you can prepare tea, and serving it in the lovely crockery is a delightful touch. Another plus is its location by the road, making it a great base for further exploration. The owners are exceptionally hospitable and always ready to help with anything you might need, adding a personal and warm touch to the stay.
• Carmen (10/5): The Perfect Stay - We arrived late and I had an injury. The owner insisted on taking me to the doctor. My wound was cleaned and dressed free of charge. They helped us with our bags and got us settled in with a nice cup of tea and some fruit. In the morning they brought us a delicious homemade breakfast and offered to show us around the area. This was our absolute best stay in Sri Lanka! Absolutely nothing!
• Andrewseansl (9/5): Well worth the money - Everything was as expected. It felt spacious and clean and comfortable as well. There was some difficulty contacting the property at first but the owners made sure everything was taken care of. Location isn't a strong point but it's not really a negative, just something to consider. Water pressure was a little bit inconsistent but wasn't a big problem.
