- Dominika (7/5): Always a pleasure being in Raglan, we love it. - Location was fairly close to the city centre.
We didn't have breakfast. It would have been good to have dishwasher liquid as well as shampoo and a hair dryer available.
- Cinja (9/5): -
- Megan (7/5): - View, outdoor terrace, lounge and parking Long way to the loo!
- Metz (10/5): -
- Daryl (7/5): thanks for your help, ill be back ; - location was good, staff awesome helpful, as we had many motor bikes and they helped keep them secure,
facility was good for our group, outside noise was annoying as it went on until 2am in the morning, fights loud music etc. across the road,
not the hotels fault just a bad night i guess.

- Bradd (7/5): -
- Lyn (5/5): Be back next year - Raglan is such a beautiful place and I love coming here for yearly waka ama regatta. The pub scene is cosy, food yum and locals very friendly
- Ian & Rosalind (7/5): Great location and fun place to stay. - Very basic accommodation but price echoed this. Very clean and good shared bathroom facilities. A bit noisy when other guests moving around late at night but not unexpected when staying an old hotel.

- Ariansyah Aziz (5/5): -
- Heather (8/5): I’ll definitely go back - Excellent location, nice old worldly features , especially love the bar area old time feel
- Michael (8/5): -
- Louise (8/5): Perfect location, friendly place - Great location, super friendly staff, easy to park on site. Lovely meal in the restaurant. Old world charm, very nice.
- Declan (8/5): -
- Selwyn (4/5): Disappointing - Location & communication with cleaner was excellent. The room was not what we expected. we were not offered a room which was near what we booked.
- Krista (10/5): Clean, Charming ,Fun, great loation - this place was clean and comfortable. It's crazy that people give a property bad reviews for the nose outside the Hotel. Yes it is right DT so if that bothers you dont stay there, but the lotion and the fun vibe of he Hotel is so worth it. Bring ear plugs. I am in the "older" group of travelers, but had so much fun there and very much enjoyed the location, charming Hotel and fabulous location!! would stay there again for sure, I had a very enjoyable stay have NO complaints, but yes bring ear plugs if the sound is an issue, but that has nothing to do with the HVH it was charming
- Denise (5/5): I wouldn't stay again. Having no toilet in my room, was also a deciding factor. - I liked the location. Bedside light was not working. No soap for handbasin. Very slow tap flow rate. No TV in room or guest lounge. As a women on my own I didn't feel safe sitting in the bar by myself for a drink, dinner or breakfast. It would be nice to have the option of a dining area set aside for guests. Getting a carpark took several tries as patrons were using it, not guests.
- Oliver (7/5): -
- Dave (7/5): - Staff excellent and friendly
- Joanne (4/5): Unfortunately not what I expected. - Location Noisy
Band playing till late
Bar noise
Thought hotel had secure parking
Booked twin room not bunk room
- Gaylene (8/5): Overall it was good and we would stay again - It was central Ran out of toilet paper and hand wash in the ladies. Told staff and nothing was done about it.
- Kathrin (4/5): -
- Neville (9/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Wonderful, classic hotel and bar. - Location, great feel, great staff A bit noisy.
- Damita (5/5): -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Stay was very pleasant, clean and staff were cheery - Heritage One bathroom between many rooms
- Phil G (5/5): Great looking pub, great beer just not somewhere where I would stay at again. - Good location, ok parking at the rear for a motorcycle, but not secure. I like staying in country pubs, have stayed in many over the years. When I arrived, I indicated I was staying the night. The response from the young "UK Backpacker?" was "you are are you?" Room 4 is very small, more like a cell, located at the corner of the building above a very noisy area until late at night. The sash window had no lock, so anyone could access the verandah.
The shared men's bathroom had one shower, with mould and rotten wood. From the outside, I had higher expectations; obviously, accommodation wasn't a big earner, so little attention to detail. There was a room where you could access coffee, etc. Luckily, the one carton of almond milk, the only milk, had just enough for one drink!
If you are leaving before 8am, you need to exit by the front door and walk around the block to the car park. There are fire stairs, signed not to be used. I did and found the back gate to the beer garden unlocked! You need to pay a $50 hold for the room key. I returned it to the box at the top of the stairs; hopefully, I will get the $50 back.

- J & K Haru-Pereka (5/5): - Location, staff, pub No TV
- Kotaro (8/5): -
- Victoria (6/5): This place could be cool but needs renovating. - The location The facilities were below average . Grotty shower . No hooks or any where to put your stuff in the rooms . Absolutely bare minimum everything .
- Christine (7/5): - Location was amazing! really tidy... basic accommodation and at times a little noisy.
- Margery (7/5): -
- Prisca (6/5): -
- Wrigley (5/5): There was live music, many backpackers - not really a work venue. - Location was excellent. Minimal shower/toilet facilities - shared with little privacy - could make eye contact with people using the facilities, Grimy shower.
- David (10/5): -
- Jean-Marc (8/5): Confort pas top mais expérience inoubliable. - Emplacement central. Bâtiment historique. Très bon restaurant interne. Charme désuet d’une bâtisse fin 19e.
Expérience inoubliable et très abordable.
Personnel adorable. Soirée karaoke (le dimanche) sous ma fenêtre. Impossible de dormir jusqu’à minuit. Emplacement assez bruyant. Chambre spartiate, salle de bain antique.
- Ross (6/5): Average room in great location - The location was excellent The room was very small and basic
- colin (5/5): - The restaurant was great excellent food. Bar staff were great great sports bar and facilities Bathroom facilities are below par. Need to be undated. Very unhygienic
- Diane (9/5): If I ever came to Raglan again I would be happy to stay there but ask for a change of room without air conditioner going - It was very convenient and the staff were excellent The air conditioning unit was right outside our room and it was going on and off all night
- Michele (8/5): Very comfortable stay. - Great building in centre of the town. Very lovely staff. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Extra facilities of tea, coffee in a lounge/ veranda a nice touch. Window needed to be propped open.
- Yoshi0420 (6/5): - Balcony view Tap beer was off- line. No towels in our room. No soap in the shower.
No handbasin in the toilet.
1 shower for all males.
Reception initially tried to send us up the road to other accommodation despite having our prior receipt for payment.
No apology. No-one at reception to offer assistance. 😞
- Solange (5/5): -
- Katerina (7/5): - Pro 3 lidi pouze 2 povlečení
- Bernard (8/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): -
- Katie (6/5): - Central, buzzing atmosphere. Good food.
- Brandon (10/5): Amazing staff, great location, good deal! I highly recommend Harbor View Hotel for your stay. - The location was in the City Center, which was the perfect place to step outside your accommodation and explore the area. I appreciated the ability to do a late check-in as I was traveling NZ for the first time and often times was caught in the moment and arrived to Harbor View Hotel later than expected. The staff were all warm, sincere, and easy to talk to and ask questions. There wasn't anything I could say I didn't like about my stay at the Harbor View Hotel. It was delightful and for such a good deal. I was concerned about the bar being downstairs and my stay being on a Friday night, but that wasn't an issue.
- Andrea (7/5): Great place but not for the price - Great location and beautiful old building. We had an event booked elsewhere but the live music sounded lovely. Clean sheets and room. The facilities needed a deep clean. Super loud at midnight when i
assume the bar closed. Low value for price paid
- Patrick (7/5): -
- Frances (10/5): -
- Luke (8/5): Classic - Old world 😸
- Katerina (8/5): -
- Luna (5/5): Disappointing to say the least - Pretty Balcony Respect is a two way street. We arrived after travelling the entire day by bus and were ignored (by one of the staff - 3 working) in the queue- same queue for restaurant and hotel check in - because ‘it takes a while’, as I was told after saying something. The actual check in, 25 to 30 minutes later, only took about a minute or two. The base from the music playing in the restaurant is quite loud in the room, you can feel it on the bed. The bedsheets were stained, I dropped some bobby pins and checked under the bed which was vile. Shower was dirty.
- Chloe (10/5): -
- Joyce (6/5): A very friendly hotel which seemed the hub of the town.really lovely staff - Didnt have it Not applicable
- Timothy (9/5): -
- Jan (7/5): -
- Laura (7/5): -
- Ben (10/5): -
- Frances (3/5): Couldn’t wait to get out of there, not going back there again - Right in town Wifi not working properly, no cups for an early morning coffee ,no soap in dispenser, missing lightbulb; lack of sugar, milk, rubbish still full when we left, no remote for tv, and they charged us an extra 50 dollars in case we damaged anything, lucky I thought of doing a video before we moved in, and I’m still waiting for my 50 dollars to come back to me
- Coulson (5/5): Clean and tidy, good location - It was close to the township. It was very noisey untill midnight, our window wouldn’t close. It was quite pricey for what we had. Not very big rooms.
- Laurie (7/5): -
- Ben (8/5): -
- Gary (9/5): Great place to stay with everything needed - The hotel has everything you need . Comfy beds , great staff and Towbars and food served in both. Had an excellent stay for 3 nights
- Gerald (7/5): -
- Gilvray (4/5): - Location was very good and central so it was easy to walk around. Parking is limited. Only 2 toilets and 1 shower per gender. We were given a triple room instead of double as we had booked - made the stay a bit uncomfortable and when asking staff for a different room they were very unhelpful. You have to pay a $50 bond for the key. The rooms are very hot and sticky as there is no fan or AC.
- Horgan (8/5): - Great central location nice rooms friendly staff
- Hanish (10/5): Close to beach and shops - Clean, staff were friendly Rooms too small, not enough carparks and we had to share showers and toilet
- grant (7/5): -
- Jill (8/5): No frills, convenient and comfortable stay - Location was perfect for exploring Raglan town. It was cool being in a historic hotel. It was as advertised as expected = it's a historic hotel with shared bathroom facilities- there is always some level of inconvenience when the bathroom is outside the room but the hotel was quiet and we felt we had the facilities to ourself despite their being other there.
- Jess (8/5): Great value for money. Fabulous location. Friendly and helpful staff. -
- Rachel (8/5): - Old fashioned style of classic hotel
- Taulupe (7/5): - Location was beautiful
- Vanya (4/5): Chaos, noisy and unclean. Do not recommend for a family stay. - The location itself is perfect. Right on Main Street.
Call it a backpackers and it would have been fine. And we wouldn’t have booked. The first thing we got told is to mind the noise and to respect other guests. Which I was happy with because we’re traveling with two kids so I was hopeful we would be able to get a good night rest… but unfortunately it wasn’t a silent night at all. It’s very noisy which makes sense above a bar, but definitely don’t stay here with kids.
Other than that it was very very messy and dirty. The communal area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. There was no toiletpapier, and the toilet itself and shower were so dirty our kids rather went at a public toilet.
The other thing was the messy check in. With unfriendly staff and chaos all over. This might be because they try to combine running the bar and the reception at the same time. But it wasn’t a nice experience after a long long drive for us. We were looking forward coming back to Raglan but this wasn’t up to standard at all.
We decided to check out after one night and stay somewhere else. There was no refund but at least we got a good nights sleep and a clean stay.
- Rangianewa (7/5): - There food 10/10. Loved the location.. Bedding was comfy. Just the access to the room. Having to walk through the sports bar and restaurant to get up stairs, from the back door. Not much parking available.
- Martin (9/5): - La posizione È piuttosto rumorosa a causa del pub sottostante
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect location within strolling distance of shops & great cafes & restaurants - Great location, friendly staff, lively venue I hadn’t noticed the shared bathroom facilities, however they were clean & lots of towels provided - it wasn’t an inconvenience
- Caroline (6/5): - Pas propre et très bruyant
- Bowen (7/5): restroom - only one restroom for ladies at second floor...
- Itthiphon (8/5): -
- Zak (4/5): -
- Graham (8/5): - Very central, easy parking Limited beer range
- Rickus (4/5): - The big room with 3 beds. There were no cups for morning coffee,
- Kani (7/5): Prime location for accommodation - Staff were great in understanding our needs via room service, restaurant and bar foods Because it was a busy weekend the room was the smallest of the family rooms and trying to navigate the hot nights without options for fans of some kind would definitely help. And figuring out how to come and go from back carpark access proved difficult as some nights the gate would be closed. So for me those couple of things are probably rectifiable with clearer instructions. We stay at a pub upstairs it's pretty cool really
- Browne (10/5): -
- San (9/5): I really enjoyed my stay at HarbourView Hotel. The location is unbeatable — right in the centre of town, just a few step - Best location 1 bathroom
- Tanja (10/5): - sehr schönes altes Haus mit viel charme
- Alan Tolland (9/5): - Staff and the public were very welcoming and went out of their way to help when asked. The short time we had to stay there.
- Manola (7/5): Bien - Le calme
