- AKSAS (10/5): Onsen in the Mountains - We loved the location and the onsen with views to the surrounding forest. The staff were very accommodating including of our food preferences (GF and vegetarian). Thank you!

- Heidi (10/5): 2026 trip - Quiet and peaceful location, great start for our hokkaido trip, and simple yet ample choices for the dinner and breakfast. Definitely recommended to visit and stay here Nothing
- Beth (10/5): The forest and mountains surround you, and the food is amazing! - A lovely manor in the remote mountains. The food was amazing. Onsen is wonderful. Staff is kind and welcoming. I hope to go back someday. It’s very subtle, but the soundtrack in the lobby and restaurant was on a loop of the same song.
- Alexander (10/5): -
- ChrisBM (9/5): - Everything was great, the staff was kind and helpful, the location is terrific, the onsen is perfect for relaxation and meditation, and the food is delicious. Nothing
- Fabian (10/5): - Was the highlight of our trip. If you want a stay within nature, it’s all you need for 2-3 nights. They provide great food including a light lunch.

- Viktor (9/5): - De afgelegen locatie midden in de natuur, vriendelijk personeel, prachtige onsen, lekker traditioneel Japans eten
- Liat (8/5): - Very long and beautiful drive and very isolated. For those who like hiking - there is only one mountain in the Daisetsuzan accessible from this side - mt. Tomuraushi.
The onsen is amazing.
A little bit of a hostel feel.
Food ok.

- Petr (9/5): Beautiful spa with bombastic dinners!!! - Breakfast ok. Fantastic, but fantastic dinners. Many hokkaido specialities, very kind staff. Bombastic! Outstanding onsen - natural hot stream bath with water with only light sence of sulfid. You can sit in the bath for hours, just relaxing. More comfortable beds, but it is a tradition to sleap on tatami in Japan
- Michaelbird (10/5): We loved every second of our two night stay. Thank you. - The staff were very welcoming and helped us navigate the rules of the ryokan. The Onsen is excellent and the food outstanding. Its a long drive up into the hills and worth every minute. Samue was lovely. Oh and the set was excellent especially for Y800. The Bears!!! OK not the bears. On the first night the whole place was a bit hot (thats being picky. Oh the slippers as a bit awful. Could have a huge yukata for folks like me...
- Alan (10/5): Amazing!! Great way to begin our honeymoon. - This is a reserved hotel- tattoos are not allowed in the public baths.
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Oriol (10/5): Exceptional - Really good food (we had deer shabu shabu, sashimi and much more) and the outdoor pools are nice in winter A bit remote, but it's probably a perfect base for hiking in the Daisetsuzan national park in summer
- ダニエル (9/5): Superb -

- Alana (8/5): Great stay. Wonderful staff. Comfortable lodging. - Beautiful scenery. Delicious dinner. Very relaxing. Would like more amenities in the bath such as hairbrush, lotions, face wash.
- Kathleen (10/5): beautiful onsen and hotel in a remote location along creek. - This hotel is located deep in the park and is the most beautiful and remote location. The onsen was beautiful with outdoor pools along the creek- really superb. Also the staff and meals were wonderful. Highly recommend! We had traditional Japanese bedding for family of four which was a bit tight but doable.
- Francis (7/5): Adventure deep in a forest, explore trees and wild-life - V secluded deep in a mysterious forest. The staff were helpful even though we cannot speak Japanese. Especially in the Dining Room where a young staff member was happy to explain how the dinner worked and also some of the unusual items for breakfast. There was no shower in the room but the Public Bath downstairs was fine even though one of the hot tubs (the medium hot one) was not in operation This was a bit in the nature of a Youth Hostel from the decor to the organisation. Dinner service finished early which we had not been made aware of but they kindly extended it slightly for us. We had to move the furniture and make up our own beds (futon) which was surprising but endearing. However, being elderly I found it hard to get in and out of bed. No water or beverages in the room and the vending machine in the entrance didn't have plain cold water. This was my main gripe. There were bins by the lift for recycling and for placing laundry in-- but no explanation for those who cannot read Japanese. It was unusual if one if expecting a regular hotel. I think aspects of this way of running the place are v good but I also think there are ways in which this very special location could really attract people, even foreign people, and make them very happy.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Danny (9/5): Superb - Nice food with good and kind service. The location is a bit inconvenient but just can't help it.
- Nancy (7/5): Good -
- Chad (10/5): Exceptional - Location was outstanding; located near a stream and hot spring, very tranquil. Facilities were excellent, and meals were exceptional.
- Alexandre (8/5): Great experience - In the middle of nature
Beautiful river flowing right next to the hotel
Amazing onsens
Free shuttle from train Breakfast for vegetarians
Difficulty to reach the place
- Mina (10/5): Exceptional - The onsen was stunning, we could look down on a river and were in the middle of nature. Without a doubt the best experience we ever had!
- Oksana (9/5): Superb -
- Greg (10/5): The staff, service, meals, facilities and overall experience was absolutely superb! - The location in this park of Hokkaido and the excellent Onsen. Also the Japanese style accommodation was most comfortable and unique.
- Sherry (9/5): Calming stay and great experience! - The hospitality and facilities were very nice! Dinner was delicious and breakfast as well! Onsen was big. Two different indoor baths and a sauna. There is an outdoor bath but it was raining when I was there so didn't manage to go out. They have a small gift store and vending machine for drinks. However, there's no food. No other vending machines. There wasn't air-conditioning in the room, only a heater. There were standing fans outside for you to use. It was a little warm before bed but woke up in the chilly mountain air. Did not open the windows for ventilation because there were a lot of insects (visited during mid June) even in the mosquito net. Might not be the most accessible but definitely an experience!
- Raymond (9/5): Superb -
- Pooblet (9/5): Secluded onsen - Lovely place to relax with warm hospitality Drone of pump/machinery was a bit annoying at night when trying to sleep, but not a dealbreaker by any means
- Sebastian (9/5): Superb - The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with our car and they helped us with transportation from Shintoku Station to the hotel. The food was traditional and tasty. The place is very cozy, and its surroundings are breathtaking. I would've liked to know that showers are only available in the onsen area, where you have to be naked. Food came at stipulated hours, and eating outside those hours was tough as there aren't any stores around (the hotel has some food on sale, but it's not too varied).
- Deokki (10/5): Exceptional - Best ever Onsen in Japan.
The staff are so friendly.
Dinner and Breakfast is great. This accomodation that only I want to know.
I should stay at least 3days more.
- Yin (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Amazing Scenery, Amazing Food, Amazing Service - The scenery was amazing. This ryokan was tucked away at the base of a mountain with flowing streams and snow covered trees surrounding. The inside/outside onsen was the best place to relax. Food was amazing. To be honest, I was not expecting much from an included meal, but the presentation and food quality was amazing. They had a special event for Christmas dinner where they had Santa Clause come in and give everyone a goody bag. The whole experience was great. N/A
- Nurfitrah (8/5): Very good -
