A bath would have been great but not a deal breaker. Huge shower was great. Ate once in the restaurant. Lovely setting, wasn't much on the main menu I liked but down to personal taste. More fish/vegetarian options would have been nice. Chips super salty so didn't eat them

- Paul (9/5): Lovely hotel in lovely setting. - Great location, close to centre of town next to castle entrance. Hotel was very clean with a relaxing ambiance and free parking. Staff were polite and extremely helpful. Be aware when using the bar. The bar staff offer to bring the drinks to your table and then charge an extra service charge on top of the cost of the drinks which are a little pricey as expected in a 5 star hotel. Ask the bar staff in advance not to apply the service charge.

- Giacomo (10/5): - La vista sul castello, campagna inglese, direttamente dalla camera è davvero molto apprezzata. La colazione organizzata molto bene, ricca e sempre con la possibilità di vedere il castello è stata molto apprezzata. C'è la possibilità di utilizzare i loro stivali, per camminare in campagna senza sporcarsi le proprie scarpe. Il parcheggio è gratuito. Il parcheggio dell'auto è collocato più in basso e richiede di camminare circa per 2 minuti, con un po' di gradini da fare. per raggiungere la propria camera, ci sono tante porte "manuali" e non elettriche, che possono essere scomode. Il prezzo della camera non è basso e la camera non è enorme. Seppur nel complesso sia stata una bellissima esperienza, ritengo che sia più un albergo a 4 stelle plus, più che a 5 stelle.

For the star rating of the property, it should have proper coffee beans with coffee machine rather than filtered Coffee offered at breakfast

All staff were very polite and friendly My only complaint (rather petty) was that the bath was uncomfortable to use …basically the ends of the bath were too upright ( no slope) so I could not have a relaxing soak. Bathroom did have a separate and very good shower so all was not lost.

Just felt a little cheaply done. Kind of basic. That said we did enjoy our stay and will definitely be back.
- Katie (8/5): Beautiful stylish hotel - Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms. You can tell it is very new and everything was flawless and incredibly clean. Good breakfast and friendly service. We particularly enjoyed the passion fruit martini cocktails from the bar and were also offered free snacks. The location is amazing, opposite the castle and walking distance to shops and restaurants. I think we got a bad price from Booking.com as the room we booked went down in price by £50. We contacted the hotel and spoke to Tracey who informed us we had to reach out to Booking.com about this, which was fine we understood it was out of their control. However, it would have been nice to offer us something, like a round of complimentary drinks for this. I think customer service fell a bit short here.

All staff very helpful and friendly (Adam in particular) We found some of the charges very high. £25 for a full breakfast - we thought that this was quite excessive. We ordered drinks from the bar on two days - once in the afternoon, whilst sitting in the outside courtyard, and the second evening in the garden room area. We were charged £8.82 service each time.

More hanging space and a set of drawers would have helped. There were a lot of dogs staying. The lift in particular had a nasty smell as did a couple of the communal areas. Parking some distance with lots of steps from the hotel. They don’t tell you this before you arrive and while they are happy to valet park and allow you to offload at the front this doesn’t help if you don’t know.

- Marija (10/5): Top quality hotel - Quality and ambience of decor, room, bar and restaurant - beautiful hotel. Right next to castle and town, perfect location. Bed was comfy and a real treat to have a lovely bath! Best meal we've had for ages and we travel and eat out a lot. The whole stay was perfect. Nothing!!

The puddings were relatively a little disappointing. The hotel facilities - Clean, tidy, easy to navigate. The choice of draught beers in the bar.

Breakfast very good and a great room with a brilliant view of Alnwick Castle Our only issue was the green emergency light that stayed on in the bedroom. It was very bright and needs to be toned down a bit

- Rachel (9/5): Gorgeous hotel, very dog-friendly - Gorgeous interior; we loved how dog-friendly the hotel is. Our room was lovely; it felt more special having a dog bed, bowls, etc. Nice touch. The restaurant had a very small dog-friendly section; however, it was occupied each morning for breakfast by non-dog owners. If there are guests with dogs who have paid for breakfast, it may be worth suggesting they book the table.

- Harvey (9/5): We have already recommended the hotel to family/friends and will definitely go back. - Great to have a luxury hotel option in the centre of Alnwick. The staff were all lovely and generally attentive. The quality of everything, from products to fixtures and fittings, was very high.
- Janice (8/5): If you can afford it the Bailifgate is a treat. - Staff were obliging,attentive and friendly Food ,though on the expensive side was of excellent quality.The breakfast selection was excellent.The car Park is quite a climb from the hotel and we were pleased to use the offer of Valet parking We had the chance of a complimentary upgrade which offered us a splendid Castle view.. We felt the bedroom could have been laid out more sympathetically with regards to drawer and hanging space whilst still retaining the overall feel of the ethos of the hotel.We felt a small towel rail adjacent to the wash basin in the en suite would have been useful.The bed,whilst comfortable was very high for one of us(at only 5_feet tall it was a struggle to get in and out of bed safely)

- Paula (10/5): Top notch! Would not hesitate to recommend. - Gorgeous hotel and the staff were very welcoming and hospitable. Parking was a bit of a chore but other than that I couldn’t fault it.
- Louise (10/5): - Beautiful room, loved the Commissioners Bar, loved the breakfast, fantastic location, staff were very friendly and helpful. The steps are steep from the car park.. but that's just how the plot is. There appears to be a call button and stair lift should you need assistance.
