Guest Reviews
- Ian (10/5): Perfect for our plans - Christmas Tree. House has character. Perfect location Nothing we can think of
- Jeanette (10/5): Spectacular, quirky, beautifully-presented property we'll return to for sure - Oh my goodness this was probably the nicest self-catering accomaodation we've ever stayed in! It was perfect for threee adult couples attending a wedding, with heaps of space for everyone to get ready without tripping over each other. It also had loads of room for hanging out and playing board games, chatting, etc. I confess we barely cooked a thing as we were on a whirlwind of catching up with family throughout Norfolk, but with so many takeaways and restaurants so close, we still ate well.
The house is quirky, and you'd want to mind your heads and your step. Every room is on a different level and there are random steps and slopes even on the flatter bits to try to catch you out. The sloping ceiling over the main bed makes sitting up in bed for morning cuppa tricky, and getting into bed a bit risky too, but the character of the house and high quality finish throughout are lovely. There's a mysterious door in the sitting room that warns visitors to keep it closed for their own safety. Did we open it? Of course we did! Did we all survive to tell the tale? That's would be telling. Will we stay here for future trips to Norfolk? Definitely. Is this my new favourite place to stay instead of at various family houses like we usually do? Hell yeah.
We didn't bring dogs or children, but the house is wonderfully well-equipped for both, wiht a fenced garden and courtyard too.
The location was perfect for the wedding we attended, perfect for a quick trip up to Wells (best chippy in Norfolk and fun at the arcades, and an almost-dry stroll halfway to the sea because some peopel were too hungover to walk from Wells harbour to the beach (for anyone not familiar with Wells beach, it's quite a trek from the harbour and town but there is a car park a bit closer). I could have bumped my head less. (That sloping ceiling!) And guests in the main bedroom should pee before showering because the wetroom floor makes getting to the loo a bit damp, until it dries, and the loo is beyond the wet bit!
