Guest Reviews
- Euan (9/5): Great place for an overnight stop over - Great place for an overnight stop on our way round the wild Atlantic way. The lady who ran the place was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The little town it is in is an entertaining place to spend a night in the typically Irish pubs. Nothing

- Janene (10/5): A wonderful spot to stay on the Beara Peninsula. Very cute town and large well appointed rooms. - Loved the spacious rooms and the communal kitchen where we got to chat with other guests.
- Benedick (8/5): A lovely stay in a stunning location. - The accommodation was well-priced. The bedroom with private shower was lovely: very spacious, clean and airy. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The communal areas of the courtyard and kitchen were a little less clean, but this was understandable in a busy, child-friendly and dog-friendly establishment. The pressure in the bathroom wash basin cold tap was liable to go from a drip to a strong surge, but this is just a detail.
- Halina (9/5): A perfect location and very friendly hosts - Breakfast could have been a bit more interesting. Perhaps a croissant or pastry could be included
The location was excellent There was a fridge and a kettle in the bedroom. It would have been nice to have cups and tea bags provided and water glasses.

- Russ (9/5): Superb - great room, roomy, comfortable and clean! i didnt read the fine print.. from US and assumed there would be shampoo and usual amenities .. like tv and internet.. it was an unplanned stop in a beautiful area.. a must visit and no regrets .. lovely people and very gracious for not having to drive another 3 hours!
- Anonymous (9/5): Nice place in beautiful location - Connie was great. Location was great. No coffee
- Sue (9/5): Good value and great location - An amazing location. It is a lodge not a hotel. It is make your own breakfast and not fancy. But we loved our time there. Jess was fantastic. O’Neills pub next door has fantastic musicians on Sunday nights. Our bed was tired - we solved it by adding spare Donna’s underneath the mattress protector- however we didn’t complain as the property was good value and everything else especially location was brilliant
- Darryl (9/5): Superb - Location
- Brent (10/5): Great! - Such a wonderful hostess and clean, convenient property to explore the tip of the Beara peninsula. Pub next door is fun and views are gorgeous. Would stay again!
- Jeffrey (9/5): Jess, our host, was very friendly and we felt right at home. We enjoyed walking on the beach and hiking on the mountain - The village of Allihies is at the tip of the Bera Peninsula. There is a nice beach there and there are mountains for hiking. It’s a quaint little village with a couple of pubs. The breakfast wasn’t much of a breakfast. However, if you brought your own ingredients, you could probably make your own breakfast. Because there is a kitchen there.
- David (9/5): Recommended. - Clean and comfortable.
Good location.
Good parking.
Great breakfast selection.
Recommended.
- Anonymous (9/5): Great stay, if in the area again would return - This is a very comfortable hostel type accomodation, and as such it was lovely, very friendly host nothing was to much trouble, location is ideal for the area.,as is the private parking. Pub couple of doors along serves good food, breakfast is help yourself in a large communal kitchen. Bread, jam, milk, tea, coffee, plus.everything you need to get your day off to a flying start. Nothing
- Kathleen (7/5): Basic accommodation - Basic accommodation, hot shower, bed okay. Needed a shower caddy or something in the bathroom to put a few things. Nowhere to hang or put Dopp kit.
- Nancy (5/5): Passable -
- Mary (9/5): Lovely stay in a beautiful location. - This was a lovely place. Jess the owner was very welcoming and helpful. It had been a hostel in a previous life but now all rooms are individual bookings. We stayed in the double room with an ensuite. We liked the self-catering shared kitchen facilities and the breakfast items. There is a nice outdoor courtyard area for when the weather is good, The place in general was lovely, quiet and easy-going. A shared living area to sit and perhaps watch TV later in the evening would be a nice addition.
- John (10/5): Excellent owners of property - Everything and everyone! Nothing
We got what we paid for and paid for what we got😊
- Conor (10/5): Fantastic 💫 - It had everything I needed for my weekend away in the beautiful Beara peninsula.
Connie and Jess are absolutely fabulous souls, that had real time and good advice.
The room I had was massive, the bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was powerful.
And not forgetting Flossy there Labrador, with an equally beautiful personality.
Everything here is excellent.
Close to 3 bars where I had a great night on the Friday night (Jimmys) with live traditional music.
I will be back ASAP.
Thank you 🙏 for everything. N/A
- Susan (7/5): Good - The location for where we needed to be was excellent. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Messages were always answered very quickly. We liked the idea of being able to cook you own food, which would be very good if we came back. The room was kept warm with the heater which was very much appreciated. The room was very basic. We had an issue with the shower on the night of our arrival, it was rectified by the morning.
- Jane (7/5): Clean spacious room in great location - Spacious clean room in great location. Disappointing breakfast, self-service and nothing hot.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything about this warm and cosy guest house. It's in a great location next to a lovely little pub serving great food. It's spotlessly clean , the host we met was delightful and the breakfast was generous and plentiful.
- Fiona (10/5): Wonderful stay - Beautiful location, very friendly staff. Extremely clean and comfortable. The host was lovely and everyone we met was friendly and polite. The area is outstandingly beautiful and there's lots of great walks for all fitness levels. Not applicable
