- Alexa (10/5): -
- GABRIEL (10/5): Muy a gusto - Estuve poco tiempo como para valorar los detalles. Mejorar la tarifa en esta temporada y en la fecha
- Lindsey (8/5): - We arrived very late so don’t really get to see much but the pool and fire pits looked pleasant. Check in and out was simple with a key box The train is quite close but otherwise ok

- Sherry (10/5): -
- Dominick (6/5): -
- donald (5/5): - needs a major renovation
- Wendy (6/5): Was okay for one night, we loved the location but the room could have been cleaner and the air conditioner seemed to be - Location Air conditioning seemed to be blowing mold out over the head of the bed, we had to sleep at the foot of the bed.
- Jacob (7/5): -
- Marti (9/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): -
- Hannah (10/5): - Concrete floor- I hate hotels with carpet! Could have had a tv but ok with not!
- Martha Patricia Solis (8/5): -
- Bohdi (10/5): -
- Brandt (10/5): Great stuff - Room Nada
- Alana (9/5): -
- Stacy (8/5): We wished we had more time to explore Marfa, TX. We’d do that part differently next time. - The indoor outdoor vibe and the desert gardens surrounding the pool. The parking situation because we were on the complete other side of the building and had lots of big things to carry (dog crate for a 70lb dog) etc. it is possible to park on the street closer to the other side of the building for less of a trek.
- Andrea (10/5): Great hotel - Beautiful historic hotel , great staff All was good
- Andrea (10/5): Worth it! - Great location, cute place, helpful staff, comfortable bed All was good!
- Hector (10/5): I will definitely be going back and staying at Thunderbird yes! - The staff was absolutely amazing. Felt like coming home to family. First, I said there’s no TV to watch movies and then I passed and I told my husband well it’s bonding time no phones no TV just you and I!
- wescoat (8/5): - I love the outdoor space! It feels like your in the desert or out in big bend! great job While we loved everything else, we felt that the bathroom could use some work, especially the tub/shower area
- Jessica (10/5): - Very clean and pretty. Great shower and excellent customer service.
- Rudolph (9/5): - No view from room. Small high windows only. More importantly, NO egress in case of fire - code violation!
- dolores (9/5): Really enjoyed my stay — great value and lovely grounds. I’d stay there again - Absolutely loved the common areas and yard. Beautifully landscaped. The room was nicely appointed. Shower had good stream. The 1st 3 days the room had an odd musty/chlorine smell. By the 3rd day smell was gone and much more pleasant. Had some confusion with the staff about cleaning the room but the confusion may have been my fault too.
- Maria (9/5): -
- Sinan (7/5): Absolutely avoid room 208 otherwise a good place to stay - Location, large room and bathroom, comfortable bed. Location of room 208! Next to ice machine and lounge makes it very noisy and thus not a pleasant and restful night!!
- Megan (8/5): Enjoyed the uniqueness of the renovation from old motel to cool updated one - Tastefully updated with lovely courtyard. No windows to open in bedroom
- Joe (10/5): - We had a group of 3 with 3 rooms reserved. One member had to drop out at the last moment due to a close friends passing. I inquired about cancelling on our day of arrival and was told that policy was no refund. After contacting the owner and describing the unique circumstances, we received a 100% refund. Appreciate considering the circumstances and accommodating us at the last minute.
- Troy Wilson (8/5): -
- Molly (10/5): -
- Becca (9/5): - Clean comfortable beds, hot shower, friendly service. Great choice to pamper yourself after camping in Big Bend.
- Maria (9/5): Loved the room. I would recommend it as it is pet friendly (w/a fee). - The property is beautiful and the room was spacious and really nice. The bed & pillows were comfy. It was easy to check in and out. The staff was very friendly. There’s no TV nor microwave. We rolled up the sisal rug to assure our pet didn’t dirty it only to see a lot of dirt underneath.
- Melinda (9/5): It’s a central location to divide your stay if you’re wanting to go to McDonald Observatory and Big Bend. - It was very clean and quaint. The property was great. It’s just a shame there’s not more businesses like shops and restaurants in Marfa.
- Gregory (8/5): -
- Virginia (8/5): - Location was great. Able to walk everywhere. The lady in reception was super friendly and helpful Finding the reception area was a bit tricky. The inside lounge area seemed silly. No one is going there to watch tv
- James (8/5): -
- Lambert (5/5): -
- Yundan (10/5): -
- Cierra (5/5): - My favorite part of the hotel was the outdoor pool area. It is very close to restaurants and other establishments. The person working the front desk had an attitude when speaking to us when we had a question about our payment. That was an off putting end to our stay. Too expensive for what it is but it is better than a motel.
- Eliezer (8/5): Good for quick overnight stay - Easy to find. Central location Minimal amenities
- Rokoski (9/5): -
- Kayla (9/5): -
- Laura (5/5): - Room was clean and well designed. Landscaping was beautiful. Centrally located. Staff at the front desk was unfriendly and absolutely unhelpful. Room walls were paper thin and you could hear the room next door to you coughing as if they were in your room.
- Bryan (6/5): Great location super quiet and interesting. - It was very secure, retro vibe. It felt like the decor was doing to much. There were so many lamps in the room. The swinging door to the bathroom was weird. Overall it was interesting and unique. If you want something different this would be it!
- Michael (8/5): -
- ELIZABETH (7/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): -
- Marissa (8/5): Enjoyed one quick night. Super comfortable beds. - Great location, comfortable beds. Check in was easy!
- Lisa (8/5): -
- Robert (5/5): -
- Surya (10/5): -
- montse (9/5): -
- dean (9/5): - Old time feel No television
- william (9/5): hip & spendy - super hip and comfortable. never saw staff. expensive considering the place was almost empty.
- Mauricio (10/5): -
- Toni (10/5): As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and cannot wait to visit again! - This is the cutest concept. This was my first motel experience and it was clean, safe and perfect location. It has literally everything you need in the room and then additional amenities in a shared space such as an iron and ironing board. There was nothing I didn’t like. It was honestly perfect for me.
- Bob (8/5): - Classic hotel in Marfa, great accommodations for the price
- Donna Reni (7/5): Step back in time - Kinda funky and cool vibe. The pour over coffee is a nice touch. Loved the rustic grounds to stargaze. Needed a TV. Marfa doesn't offer much Monday through Thursday as most places are closed. There was a small lounge that had one.
- leon the road (9/5): A beautiful, spacious, and modernly furnished room. - A beautiful, spacious, and modernly furnished room equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay.
Never before seen: so many different lighting options to create a wonderful atmosphere. Every light point had a dimmer switch. Truly top notch! We'd put a few hotel items in a drawer to free up space on a small table.
After a few days, we received an email asking where those items were. This suggests we'd stolen them.
You could, of course, have checked them yourself first. The room isn't that big.
We never heard anything back after we asked to confirm that they'd found the items. We weren't too pleased about that.
- Douglas (7/5): If Red Roof merged with CanyonRanch, this would be the product - Stylish Sketchy
- Brenda (7/5): Clean, simple, and good location. Staff is helpful. - Location walkable to restaurants and coffee shops shops and shopping. Pool looked fun. Room smelled overwhelmingly of bleach.
- Srdjan (10/5): -
- Casey (3/5): Beautiful but not functional. - Location / aesthetic on outside Our water leaked all over the bathroom, we had to purchase our own shower liner which still didn’t help. The shower head was completely broken on top of the AC machine breaking and not working. :(
- Kendra (10/5): -
- Prisca (7/5): -
- Yasuhiro (8/5): -
- Gwendolyn (8/5): Only one night. The one person we interacted with in office was fairly grumpy. - Simplicity and location. Flies everywhere
- Sabine (8/5): -
- Masumi (3/5): -
- Maria (10/5): -
- Rachel (8/5): It worked in a pinch. Very minimalist place to stay. No tv in the room or microwave oven. - The outside landscaping was very nice. The floors, concrete, not my favorite. No microwave and no tv.
- Jon (8/5): -
- Sara (9/5): -
- Alex (7/5): -
- Sandra (8/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Chelsea (9/5): Superb -
- Dresner (8/5): Very good -
- Jose (8/5): Very good -
- Ernestine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Goeldner (10/5): Perfect getaway, thank you - The pool was great The pool was a little moldy
- Gloria (8/5): Very good -
- Minigriff10 (8/5): Lovely stay at Thunderbird thanks for having us - The pool after a hot day is wonderful. Really liked the little touches such as lovely lavender bathroom products and the fresh coffee and mini filter pot making it easy to get comfortable. Team are super friendly and its very easy to check in and get set up. its also walking distance to cool spots like Bordo, Planet Marfa, Coyote Coffee and the Sentinel. Great first stay in Marfa Train at night blowing its horn is very noisy so if you aren't a great sleeper then its not ideal.
- Ralphs (4/5): Disappointing - It was pretty much a cement bath house. No accommodations at all. No TV, no coffee, breakfast?
- Tiffany (8/5): good vibes and pool - the pool was amazing, loved the landscaping. in general a good vibe and value. office closes down at 5, so if you need anything like towels etc, you gotta ask before the
- Janeshka (9/5): Superb - Angela was fantastic. All of the clerks are welcoming friendly and that is important.
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional -
