The washroom was not clean and had mould everywhere. It was very unhygienic, Overall, the place felt dirty and not well maintained.

• Ewing (1/5): Unsatisfied - I left at 4am so no breakfast. The lady was very nice. It wasn’t clean. The bed did not have a mattress. Blankets on a board. There was no top sheet. Pillow was terrible. I woke up after 3 to 4 hours of sleep and left. I could not get comfortable to fall back to sleep. Also there was sooo much clutter….I think she may be a hoarder.

• Shirley (5/5): It was a bit of a disappointment. - It is in a nice area of town. It is clearly a case of someone needing to make an income from their home although it is not ideal for that purpose. My room was in the basement and I had to go upstairs to shower. The people upstairs had a lengthy argument in the middle of the night and you could almost hear the whole conversation. felt that it was expensive for what it had to offer.

• Lee (2/5): The building inside was filthy, unkept, very disorganized, with pills laying around - Location and prompt replies by resident contact The entire inside of building was filthy. The kitchen that I had to pass to get to the rented bedroom had old food throughout and so many dirty dishes/items that there was not possible to even see the counter. The carpet was very dirty throughout and the entire upper floor was crammed full of disorganized items/furniture. Someone was sleeping in a bed in the living room, which I had to pass by on the way to the bedroom - very uncomfortable situation! The bathroom was filthy with a very used, dirty rag hanging by the sink and no other towels in the room. Toilet paper roll was empty with no rolls available under the sink. The bathroom sink had rust holes in it and very dirty floor, with hair, and grub everywhere. Tub was also unclean. Overall the upper floor smelled very unclean and grubby.

• Naem (1/5): Left right after next day, I couldn’t stand the smell of the house.. - N/A Of the smell of the house and wasn’t cleaned, the owner made me stay in living rooms,what’s in pictures that’s nots what’s out there. Was all lie. The next day I said to her take for two night, etransfer me the rest she refused, she told me to call booking office.. she only etransfer me $50 bucks out of $250 including deposit.

• Wayland (5/5): It'll do in a pinch - Staff (assuming home owner) was accommodating and friendly. Parking in the back for my motorcycle was adequate. The twin bed was an older spring mattress and unexpectedly comfortable. Although the basement room was small it was comfortably cozy with just enough room for all my riding/camping gear. My door was lockable for security which was nice. Basement bathroom was convenient as well as a stove and single basin kitchen sink in the common area. A few restaurants were within walking distance which was handy considering how many hours of riding I'd completed. I was a little under the weather and didn't want to sleep "under the stars" so, to me these accommodations although sparce would do in a pinch. With a little TLC this little place wouldn't be half bad. Upstairs bathroom was "rustic" in need of a makeover. Things were a little unkempt. Supplied bath towel wasn't soft. My room consisted of some mish mashed pieces of furniture. The room is very dated. Walls thin enough that I could almost hear the conversation between the couple whispering in the room adjacent. Twin electrical outlet next to the bed was the only working outlet in the room and had multiple lines running from them. I felt that the room could use a good cleaning with noticeable dust on the lamp and most horizontal surfaces. By the way, the posted pic of the room isn't an accurate representation of that room. Okay, so it's a little underwhelming and represents a kinda "meh" in value. But, as I had said previously, it'll do in a pinch.

• Bombaert (1/5): Awful, don't go there - Nothing Got charged 9$ more than what booking is telling me, the pictures are lying and the host presents it as a "bed in a dorm", which is actually a bed in the restroom separated by a sheet. People from the house look at you while going out and you sleep in the smell of what the owner decides to cook. At least the sheets were clean, on the contrary to everything else in the accommodation. It is a shame to rent this, especially for that price.

It seemed the shower hadn't been cleaned in months. Shower curtain was brown/black at the bottom. -strong odor of cat urine in my room. My throat was burning from it. -kitchen wasn't a real kitchen. I didn't use it -walls were very thin. I couldn't sleep due to the snoring of the person in the room beside me -there's a partitioned area by the front window - a single bed there was occupied by someone... awkward when going past to the shower. One shower for 6 rooms, including the owner's room and the window bed

• Darryl (8/5): definitely needs new management - It was very peaceful and I no problem falling asleep. It was a room in the basement and should have portable heat as well. As I was leaving, the woman asked how my stay was, and I mentioned it was a little cooler than I wanted but otherwise it was good. She later texted me, accusing me of purposely leaving the water running in the sink. I would never do that. I will never go back there again.

• Franklin (1/5): I can't believe Booking.com allows such a filthy place to be listed on their site. - Absolutely nothing! I don't have enough negative adjectives to describe how bad this place is! This place is disgusting! The place reeks of cat urine, so if you have a cat allergy, this will do you in. The bedroom hadn't been cleaned, the pillows were flat and felt like they had been stuffed with waded up newspaper. The bathroom is a horror story. Mold everywhere, no towel holder, so no towels. I would rather sleep in the bus station. I left after an hour because the smell was so bad. I asked Booking.com for a refund but they said the host refused so they were absolutely no help at all.

They trap you by showing different room and offer a bed out in the open next to smelly kitchen. Smells like rotting meat everywhere. Once you're stuck, they overcharge by taking extra cash. Lies about credit card but takes your details. Felt sick. Developed skin allergy. Couldn't sleep all night. Couldn't breathe. I wished someone write the issues as clearly as I did so I could have been saved from coming here. Save yourself the pain of coming here. All my other reviews are 5 star. This place is so bad that it should be illegal This place is a fraud. Misrepresentation of pictures. Actual room is different and they demand more money for the room in the pictures. I cannot breathe here and their offer for a refund is a lie like everything else. Writing this review in the middle of the night as I cannot breathe in this horrible smell. Intending to pursue this legally. Never been to a more dirty or smelly place in my life. Had to bring in own bedsheet and blanket but even they started smelling so bad. DON'T get tricked. Don't book this!

• Milena (10/5): Winnipeg Homestay is the best place you can find in Winnipeg - I really enjoy my stay at Winnipeg Homestay. I stayed there for 2 weeks and everything was great. Starting from the first day the check-in simple and fast. My room was clean and bright. Location of the Winnipeg Homestay is convenient. I was using bus everyday and it was easy to get to city centre or any other place. The greatest advantage of staying at Winnipeg Homestay is an enjoya atmosphere in the house, especially the owner Elinna is a very friendly and warm person. I can truly recommend this place to everyone :D

Was told it wasn't for guest use, but listing says shared kitchen. Should be made clear in the listing that it's a flophouse.
