Guest Reviews
- Kevin (10/5): Lots of homely touches, comfort to enjoy, in a lovely location - It was situated in a lovely location, very quiet and the owner left some lovely treats to feast on. Well equipped and very comfortable, we have stayed twice now, will stay again, thank you Nothing
- Kim (10/5): - Very welcoming... warm and comfortable. Everything you need. Maybe lock on bathroom door.... but minor compared to everything else!
- Lucy (10/5): - Great location Lovely walks in the area
- Frances (3/5): very disappointing - I will not return to Moffat - The bed was very comfortable. The supply of milk and orange juice was very nice. I paid for a 2 bedroomed property but the door to the second room was locked as we had advised only 2 of us were going to be arriving. An assumption was made that the second room was not required. I paid for a 2 bedroom property and only got one. There was no lamp in the very tiny living room, which was very cramped, therefore the big light had to be on which was not ideal. The pictures gave the impression of a seating area that could be used which was not available. A small garden area with chicken wire was available but nowhere to sit. Further round the property there were some chairs covered in leaves and turned in a way that made them look out of use.

- Rachel (10/5): A fantastic cottage with a very warm welcome - A very clean and well equipped comfy cottage
Hosts extremely helpful with any queries
Definitely would recommend
- Evie (10/5): - Such a lovely homely property. Nice and warm on arrival with the heating on for us. Easy to find with directions from the owner. Has everything you need for a stay. Has Netflix. Lovely bedrooms. Spotlessly clean. Nothing to note. We were really happy staying there.
- Nicole (10/5): - Comfortable, well appointed and in a lovely location Nothing
- Annette (9/5): What a lovely very comfortable cottage. Has everything you need. With some lovely little extra touches like the dog trea - Comfortable rustic cottage with everything we needed I liked it all to be honest but if I had to be picky I would say maybe the bathroom step ?
- Chris (10/5): great weekend thanks - Everything perfect
- Steven (7/5): -
- Joyce (10/5): We will be back , lovely house super dog friendly - Fantastic location, super clean and everything thought of. My 87 year old Mum found the stairs tricky.
- Alison (8/5): Lovely location for a stopover. - We stayed here for one night as a stopover travelling from Orkney to Devon. Clarefoot cottage had everything we needed. Good selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and fresh orange juice. Very dog friendly with a secure garden, towel, bags, and poo bin. A small kitchen/ dining room/ sitting room if we had stayed more than one night it could be a bit snug.
- Lynne (8/5): A good place to stay for an over night stay. - Very quiet location.
Well equiped.
Clean.
Beautiful bedrooms and bathroom. I had the impression that the dog secure garden was accessable, leading from the back door. It was near by, but you had to put leads on the dogs to get to it.
- Peter (9/5): A happy stay - Good directions, and easy to find and get inside, and to park.
Location was as expected, 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of town.
Lovely spacious bedrooms, comfortable bed. Very clean and nice bathroom with easy to use shower.
Very well equipped kitchen. Great to have milk and juice provided.
Modern TV, good WiFi.
Basically it worked very well for us, two adults and two grown-up children, as an overnight stop. The sitting room/dining area was actually much smaller than the pictures. It worked for one night but would have been disappointing if we'd been there for a week.
- Heather (10/5): Everything we needed, lovely cottage and a welcoming place to stay, thank you! - Lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable. Very welcoming with delicious biscuits for us and plenty of dog bix for our hound. Unfortunately we could only stay one night en route from Highlands to home, but would love to stay longer. Nothing
- Edward (10/5): Host was very helpful and welcoming. This was perfectly placed for a stop in our long journey between Ullapool and Chesh - Really clean, beautiful surroundings. Calm, peaceful neighbourhood Nothing
- Hayley (10/5): Fantastic stop over . Will definitely book again if we are headed this way - What a great place. Clean , comfortable, well equipped with a wonderful little enclosed grass area to let the dog off , bin also provided !
Fantastic stop over. So quiet . Slept really well. Well equipped. Nothing
- Caroline (10/5): - Clean, very comfortable cottage, good location for M74. Only stopped for 1 night to break up our long journey home from the Highlands but would happily return in the future. Nothing
- Elaine (10/5): - Peaceful setting, well equipped and comfortable house.
- Dee (9/5): Gorgeous stylish and clean cottage in a semi rural area on the edge of the village/ town centre - Beautiful stylish cottage in a small village/ town rural setting. Very clean very welcoming. Dog friendly and small dog run behind cottage Nit picking but pictures portray it as though it's set in a large garden but the garden is out the door down the drive round the back and to the other side of the property and whilst it's available to you it make you feel like your intruding on someone else's garden but I am nit picking. It was a lovely place.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - The peaceful location was perfect. The house was spotless with everything we needed Nothing
- Gill (9/5): Fabulous, well appointed comfy clean cottage in a great village. - Very clean, lovely touches like dog biscuits and dog towels, milk and juice in the fridge. Very comfy and well appointed.
My only minor issue was there are two flights of stairs to get to second bedroom so not ideal for everyone. Otherwise it was fabulous. Two flights of stairs to second bedroom.
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Prue (9/5): Delightful period cottage with easy access to town & countryside of Moffat - Delightful period cottage on side of larger house within substantial lovely garden. Pretty decor with comfortable beds and excellent shower. Kitchen provides everything needed for self-catering for prolonged stay. Useful enclosed dog-yard if required, but lovely country-lane walks from front door very accessible. Owners very friendly and helpful, providing great tips for eating out in Moffat. Be aware that stairs to 2nd bedroom are quite steep - but it’s a charming bedroom!
- Samantha (8/5): Endearing cosy cottage with everything you would need for a comfortable stay - Tucked away, not far to walk to and from town centre this cottage was amazing. Everything had been thought of for us and the dogs! Really cosy and the best nights sleep had by all of us. No back door to let dogs out easily
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helle (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy place ,the only problem was the steps into the bathroom The steps into the bathroom
- Thomas (10/5): A peaceful and comfortable stop for our family - Only stayed one night to break up a journey but was a lovely place to rest. Well equipped kitchen, comfy and spacious and the hosts were helpful. No issues
- Lorraine (8/5): Very good - Comfortable bedrooms. The cottage had everything we needed. Nothing to dislike.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Owners have clearly put a good deal of thought into ensuring a good experience. Good location for walk to town centre with dogs.
- Kevin (10/5): A wonderfully relaxing stay in a lovely quiet setting - Clarefoot is a wonderful property to stay out, the host Gwen has introduced lots of lovely and thoughtful touches and throughout the property.
Situated in a quiet area and easy to park and near to town centre. It was a very relaxing stay and we will definetly be staying again. Nothing
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mclaughlin (10/5): cottage was spotless and very comfortable beds every thing was new and modern, lovely hosts. hosts - location was very peaceful and relaxing everything in the cottage was spotless and modern, the hosts Gwen and Brian were very welcoming and friendly, and provided treats for our dog and some nice treats for myself and my wife, great holiday and we will come back again. could not fault this cottage in any way
- Hilda (9/5): Really relaxing two days. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly. - Beds superb with great linen. Shower room brilliant. Lovely decor throughout. Very cosy cottage. Well appointed kitchen. No terrestrial tv, but host and daughter also tried to help with that! Not a problem though! A teapot and a bread knife would have been useful…this is nitpicking!!
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - It is a beautiful cottage. So cosy and comfortable. Loved the little extra touches.
Our dogs were made to feel so welcome, too.
I came away feeling so relaxed.
We would love to stay they again x Nothing!
- Helen (10/5): Great little comfy cottage with spaces for your dog. - Had everything you need, lovely cottage everything was spotless and bed was very comfortable Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely dog friendly stay, great property, great location - The property is clean, warm, bright and comfortable. Bedrooms are both a great size with very comfy beds and good quality bed linen and towels. Bathroom is bright and modern. Kitchen is well equipped and the Owner provided some lovely welcoming extras for us and our dog. There is a handy enclosed dog run at the side of the property also. The property is a 3 storey rear annex of a lovely large old house - so there are a lot of stairs - but we liked the automatic lights on the stairs for safety. The downstairs combined living/kitchen area is quite small. The furniture is good and we loved the inclusion of a Smart TV - but we had to keep moving everything around every time we wanted to either eat or relax properly.
- Helen (10/5): Perfect - Perfect dog friendly retreat
- Ellie-may (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage great location, lovely extra for the dogs!
- Julie (10/5): A wee gem of a cottage. Cosy, comfy and perfect for our visit to Moffat. - Perfect location.
Cosy and welcoming.
Clean and had festive decor. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): We loved our stay…only problem was it was too short! - The cottage was lovely, very clean and comfortable, in a great location just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Moffat. Nothing at all.
- Heidi (10/5): Wonderful few days in beautiful accommodation with a great location. - Great location, lovely cottage, really well equipped, clean, comfortable and hosts made extra effort to decorate for Christmas. The welcome packs for human and canine guests were a super touch. No not really, the shower maybe could have had a bit more power but it’s a minor detail.
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely, peaceful and relaxing - The property was wonderful. Gwen had thought of everything- even for our 4 fur babies. Bowls, treats and towels. They also had their own enclosed garden. Nothing
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb -
- Hilary (10/5): Lovely property in great location the host was most helpful and loved all the thoughtful touches such as welcome pack fo - Beautifully decorated and ideal location for us plus completely dog friendly Liked everything
- Sheila (10/5): Great place to stay - A lovely, clean, comfortable dog friendly place to stay.Gwen welcomed us on arrival. A nice doggy welcome pack and also lots for us.
Brilliant location, only 10 minute walk to town centre where there were lots of craft and homemade produce.
We had a tasty meal at the Black Bull Inn, thoroughly recommend.
Hopefully, will be returning as so much to see and do. Nothing
- Judy (10/5): Excellent, very comfortable -
- Joyce (9/5): Superb -
- Travelicious (8/5): Very pleasant stay - I thought Clarefoot was a very comfortable, warm cottage with all the facilities needed - in a lovely old Victorian house on a very peaceful road, but still close to Moffat town centre. Walks for my little dog were just on the doorstep and the dog run 'round the corner was ideal. Thank you for a pleasant stay. Nothing I can think of.
- Jane (10/5): Excellent - The cottage is very well situated, it was clean has everything you need plus the dog run was a bonus next to the cottage.
The welcome pack was a great little extra , the bed was very comfortable would highly recommend it.
Jane and tony Nothing
