Guest Reviews
- Henry (10/5): A great value guesthouse with an incredibly friendly staff and a nice patio. - The staff were amazing, I stayed at Erawan Guesthouse for an extended period of time and the staff took me in like family. They were attentive to all my needs and always so kind! I will miss them. The patio was also really nice and I would spend many evenings there.

- Giovanni (4/5): - Not a great experience. The property is quite far from the center. We arrived in Pakse early in the morning and chose this place because it stated that check-in was available at any time. Before arriving, I messaged to confirm and was told we could check in immediately. However, once we arrived, the room was not ready and we were asked to wait in the garden for two hours (from 8 to 10 AM). After that, we were told that if we wanted to check in before 1 PM, we had to pay an extra fee — which we did because we were very tired.
We also rented a scooter through the property, and unfortunately this turned into a stressful experience. During the first night, another guest accidentally hit our scooter. The owners called the police and we were woken up early in the morning by loud arguments while they demanded money from the other guest. Because of this situation, we were effectively stuck at the property for about three hours. The scooter was later returned to us already scratched from the accident.
The following day, we got a flat tire while riding. I promptly paid to have the inner tube replaced at a mechanic, but the tire went flat again shortly after, suggesting there was another underlying issue. On the morning of checkout, at 7 AM, someone aggressively banged on our door — it was the scooter rental owners demanding the return of the bike and payment for the tire. I tried to explain the situation and asked the guesthouse owner to help translate, but she showed little interest in assisting.
I travel often and usually have very low expectations, and I rarely leave negative reviews. I don’t think anyone here had bad intentions, but the overall management felt disorganized and unhelpful. If you are looking for a relaxing stay, be aware that simple things may become unnecessarily complicated
- Aline (10/5): Parfait -
- Davis Damon (8/5): Relax in piena natura - Lo staff, la natura, la cucina. .....
- Denis (7/5): - Le personnel sont gentil. Ils nous ont fait de bon repas. L'endroit a besoin d'amour un peu laissé aller.
Sa se fait a pied aller a la rue principal, mais il y as vraiment rien d'attirant.
- Klabauter (8/5): Ruhige Unterkunft, freundliche Betreiber - Ruhige Unterkunft.
- Rosenstein (9/5): Thank you ✨ - The host are welcoming and the place is beautiful Our staying was great! The wifi could work better and it’s a bit far from town. But great experience anyway.
- Jenny (8/5): - Nice, 🙂 Location so far from city
- intha (10/5): - The staff here are smiling and friendly.i came back here for the 2nd time this place is very different from before.in the room has air conditioning,a fan,a hot water kettle and a refrigerator.worth the price paid
It is very quiet here, perferct for relaxation The place is quite far from the city, we already know that, we have scooters to facilitate
- Pecker3393 (8/5): Scenic relaxing location a bit out of town. - The breakfast was delicious. Cooked breakfast with the most delicious French-style baguette. It was a great start to the day eating al fresco when about to engage in energetic activities. Peaceful spacious area with pretty mountainous backdrop. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially when i messed up. It’s a bit out of town. The roads nearby are really bad with potholes, water, excavations, poor lighting, be careful at night. Easy to miss turns too. The resort is a bit out of date and needs renovations, that’s partly why it is value for money. Bathroom a bit smelly.
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional - Reasonable priced and well equiped room.
Friendly, helpful and hospitable host.
- Sophie (7/5): Good value for money and considering limited options in Pakse a good choice - Room was very comfortable and lots of storage which was a nice change. Also a fridge which was a big bonus. If you’re coming back from the Loop and they let you drop your bike off in the morning this is a good place to stop without having to pay prices of central Pakse. The family also cooked us a very nice dinner. The was cobweb and spider in the sink which made it seem like it hadn’t been used in a while. We also seemed to be the only people there which made it a bit awkward.
- Louis (8/5): Very good - Quality/Price No real coffee in the morning...
- Andrey (9/5): Superb - A wonderful and cozy place, very quiet. I would like to thank the entire family of this place for the delicious food, help at all stages, and hospitality. I recommend this guesthouse!
- Georgeol (9/5): Superb - Super friendly host!
- Lieven (7/5): Nice, but has more potential - Very friendly host. And very nice garden to relax a bit. Big domain in a quiet neighbourhood 5 km from the city centre. Altough cosy, not everything was always very clean (bathroom). A lot of garbage and just 'stuff' like everywhere :)
As a European to be locked in at 9:30 pm (the gate closes and you have to app the owner + also communicated otherwise) is strange.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing but to be expected at the cheap price - The owners were helpful when needed and the bed was comfy The room smelt incredibly bad due to poor drainage and stagnant water in the bathroom, the bathroom and room was very unclean and outdated there were cobwebs everywhere, very dark room and the overall property needed some tlc
- Nguyen (8/5): Very good - Quiet space, only takes nearly 10 minutes to go to the city center. The motel owner is very enthusiastic. She and her family made me feel like I was at home. The meals prepared by the host family are delicious, hot, and cozy. Even though she wasn't good at English, she tried very hard to communicate with us. We shared interesting and fun stories. I will stop by again when I can come to Pakse.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Secluded, mt side, garden like.
- Niv (1/5): Bad - Scammed us with transportation
- Myra (6/5): It’s okay for the price - Especially appreciate the very nice people that run the place, that is why I gave it a 6 still. Facilities were bad tho, even for the price. We rented a very nice motorbike from them and also a bus ticket to Don Det, everything went very smoothly and arranged professional.
The room had refrigerator and kettle, which we liked. Bed was fine, unfortunately the pillows are very big and high which hurt your neck. The bathroom smelled like cheese and the shower has little pressure. There were mouse poops and a big pile of dust on the closet. When it rains a colony of ants will attack the room, also flying ones. The accommodation is cheap so you don’t expect luxury, but we stayed in cheaper which was also clean.
- Kersti (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (8/5): Very good - Really nice room and bathroom. Very comfy bed. Quite far out of town center but is nice and quiet and allgood if you have a bike or car
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Price
WiFi
Parking Far from center, closer to waterfalls, so ideal for motorbike trips
- Mariza (9/5): Superb - I felt at home. Communication was fast and attentive. Room had everything, even a small refrigerator....
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - The room was nice ! The location is a little far from the city, we had a scooter ! The dogs are very cute ☺️
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - Nice , quiet room good for relaxing.
- Linda (5/5): Nice place with great potential but the staff is hard to contact which is essential in a place like this. - Nice garden with great potential. The rooms are nice but they have problem with the AC. We got a fan instead. No restaurants or tuk tuks/taxis nearby. They close the gates at 10 at night. The staff is hard to get in contact with even through whats app.
- Isobelle (8/5): Very pretty, comfy, friendly place. - Lots of lovely open outdoor space with seating and shade and plants. Comfy bed, and clean room. Friendly staff and dogs. Very good aircon. Food panda delivery. Water pressure wasn’t great in the shower. Only one bicycle (said free bikes with room there were two of us and we don’t drive so was a big reason to rent there). No cafe or restaurant on site but said there was in The listing. no cooking facilities and not close to places to eat or shops.
- Tosh (6/5): Pleasant - Staff were excellent!
- Robert (7/5): Peace in Pakse - Peaceful location outside of main town Pakse.
Friendly and welcoming host.
Good sized room, soft bed, good pillow and strong air con. Need a car or bike to go out and find food (which was fine for us since we had a car!)
A shame there is no fridge/kettle.
- Mark (10/5): A relaxing, quiet place to stay set in a traditional Lao neighborhood. - The guest house is set in a lovely, quiet location with covered tables and chairs dotted about under a grove of trees. Our room was well furnished with side tables, a desk, a wardrobe, air conditioning excellent wifi. The bathroom was small but very clean with a hot shower and good plumbing. The hotel also has a garden bar which is perfect for an evening beer. There is also plenty of secure parking. The lady who runs the hotel is very friendly and has a wonderful sense of humour. She tries very hard to speak English and did everything she could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. For a budget hotel, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommend.
- Chaseywasey1 (10/5): Hidden Gem of Pakse - Everything was incredible! I can't find one complaint.
- Keoonsy (8/5): Very good - We came to pakse for the frist time
Great room worth the price 5 kilometers from the city but that's okay because we have a scooter
- Soulyong (9/5): Superb - I like the great price and the room is better than expected. This place is close to the mountains and the weather is nice. There are very few restaurants around here but I like to order from Foodpanda.
- Mathias (9/5): relaxing place to stay - good view to the bachieng mountain
quiet place
- Intha (5/5): Passable - It's calm and shady Nothing
