Guest Reviews
- Stephen (8/5): A lovely place to stay in a great location - Lovely views, very peaceful
- Murray (9/5): Excellent landscape friendly village and house homely and comfortable. - Location very good for our purposes which was sea kayaking.
The covered outside area for drying gear was a real bonus for our group. Didn't have a freezer only a fridge and the modern oven and hob was difficult to understand when trying to cook anything.
- Sarah (3/5): Disappointed and underwhelmed! - The exterior of the cottage is lovely. It's picturesque. The garden was beautifully maintained. The interior was big and spacious - lots of space if sharing with friends and family. Nice to read about the history of how the property was used by previous occupiers. Traditional is what we expected. However, old is what was reality. The property has not had any investment in maintaining the interiors. The furnishings drab, the bathrooms mouldy grout and screens, the fire in the sittingroom did not work with a 3 bar heater in replacement. There was dust thick on lampshades and skirtings. Cobwebs clinging to ceilings and cornices. The beds were uncomfortable - 6 in total, we tried 4. We found one that allowed us a decent night's sleep. The biggest problem was the damp/old smell. It permeated everything - upon leaving our belongings smelt of this. The standard was exceptionally low compared to other properties at £200 per night. We were also shocked at the level of cleaning expected from paying guests - to the extent we were actually frightened to use anything as we were conscious of how much time this would take on the morning of our 10am departure time. For example: clean floors, bathrooms, hoover, clean oven, fridge and freezer, all rubbish to be removed from premises if you failed to put the bin out on the allocated day . The only other feedback I would like to give is for some kind of seating to the front of the property to allow guests to make use of the beautiful garden.
- Spink (8/5): Very good -
