Guest Reviews
- Brenda (10/5): What a great place and Nathan, you were always so quick with your responses. Biscuits, coffee and tea were a nice bonus - The location was perfect and we used the Famous Barrel for drinks, the cafe at the seafront every morning and the pizza place, oh and the Fish and Chip place! All suggestions were good Liked it all
- Joanne (10/5): Stayed in penryn to bust our son who is studying at Falmouth university. Great location. Local chip shops and pizzeria 4 - Cottage was well equipped. Clean and comfy beds. It was a tight squeeze but managed to park a small suv on the drive. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be staying again. Thank you
- Sarah (8/5): Fantastic stay, had everything we needed. - Alexander Cottage was in the perfect location for the weekend. It was very clean, beds were soooo comfy, kitchen was really well equipped The noise from outside. I certainly don’t want to put anyone off, but due to the location of the cottage some outside noise was experienced, e.g people coming back from the pub quite loudly and bottles from premises being emptied late night/early morning.

- Ian (8/5): Perfect, would happily stay again. - Location was perfect. Host was very responsive with fixing unfortunate plumbing issue. The summary said there was a drying rack that we didn't manage to find.
- Rebecca (10/5): Great little cottage in the town centre of Penryn. Lovely walks on the doorstep - Great spot. Pet friendly, lovely little place. Host responded to messages quickly (how to adjust thermostat). Already booked another holiday!! Spare bin bags and some cleaning stuff to keep things nice during stay
- Lynn Stringer (10/5): Cosy and Convenient - Excellent communication with host, really helpful. The cottage was spotless, very well equipped, very comfortable, quiet, and easy walking distance (5 minutes uphill) to local shops. Private parking available for one car which was a big bonus, plenty big enough for my golf, the road is one way and quite quite narrow so a little jiggle was necessary. We would definitely be more than happy to stay again on future visits. The stairs are very steep, (but host had made us aware of that), and the bathroom is downstairs, not quite so good for those of a certain age like us who need nightime visits.
- Nicky (10/5): Great location with a helpful host, the house was clean, warm, and comfortable. Would recommend. - We travelled over Christmas and it was lovely that the house had a Christmas tree with lights for our festive break. Also a nice touch to pop a pint of milk in the fridge for our arrival.

- JulesC (8/5): - Location. Easy to walk everywhere. Traditional cottage. Was lovely. Carpark with cottage is very challenging especially with a big car..SUV. we managed though👍
- Isma (8/5): -
- Adnan (10/5): Great place for a short break - Great character cottage in good location All good!

- Ridvan (9/5): -
- Katie (10/5): Lovely homely stay - Very homely feeling and comfortable, well equipped kitchen, short walk from shops, bars and waterfront Nothing! Only suggestion would be to provide salt and oil for cooking
- Ian (6/5): Average property. - Free biscuits Bathroom downstairs
Treacherous and irregular stairs
Extremely narrow parking spot
At the bottom of a very steep hill
- Barry (9/5): Superb - Excellent facilities. Parking was a challenge but essential.
- Philip (8/5): Nice property in a good location, with own parking. - Good location close to pubs, shops and cafes in Penryn, and a short walk to the harbour. Having a parking space adjacent to the property was great and, although a little tight for a bigger car, was no problem for a Fiesta. Property was a little tired in places and no handrail on the stairs could make it a bit tricky for the less mobile, especially with the downstairs bathroom. A welcome pack would have been a nice touch. Information booklet referred to milk in the fridge, but there wasn’t any.
- Victor (8/5): 3 go down to Cornwall - Nice layout for the 3 of us, generous kitchen and lounge, bedrooms were decent. A very noisy street and I didn't appreciate the small parking space.. But I guess in the 1900s they weren't thinking about SUV's!
- Karole (10/5): Very comfortable few days . - The cottage was very homely. Perfect location for us , close to beaches , area to walk our dog only a couple of minutes walk away .
- Gaynor (8/5): We didn’t spend much time in the property due to working, but enjoyed our stay. - Clean and well equipped. Lots of local facilities very close by. Very small parking space. But we do have a large car. Parking is difficult in this area. My husband is 6ft 5” so small staircase and low door frames upstairs were an issue for him. Also the shower was small for him due to the slanted ceiling above the shower head.
- Dima (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (8/5): Lovely cottage, great for a four night stay for a family of four! Attentive hosts - Lovely layout, quiet street, well stocked kitchen, fast internet. Drive too small to park our car on (we have a very large car!!)
- Redshaw (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was lovely, comfortable and cozy. Hope we can come again.
- Richard (8/5): A comfortable short stay. - Good location, car parking by property, sufficient space in cottage, generally very comfortable. Very good value.
- Sarah (8/5): Cozy and comfortable for a winter break. - Cosy, it had everything we needed to be comfortable. Excellent location for easy access to this part of Cornwall. Riverside dog walk, all day waterfront cafe, excellent pizza place and farm shop within less than 5 minute walk.
- Catherine (8/5): Cosy cottage in convenient location for Penryn & Falmouth. - The location in the old part of Penryn near the quay was very convenient for us as my husband was attending a course at a studio in the Jubilee Wharf. We liked being near a pub, fish & chip shop & pizza restaurant. It was also convenient for buses to Falmouth from the bridge in Penryn. The cottage is tiny but well-equipped for 2 people. It was great to have a parking space for the car as parking is very difficult in a Penryn. You have to eat at a counter in the kitchen on stools which is not ideal & difficult if you have more than 2 people eating. However, the cottage is just very small & otherwise well-planned.
- Linda (10/5): Our lovely stay at 55 Alexander cottage. - The cottage and location were perfect to get to all the beaches and other adventures, the people in the village were really friendly and welcoming. This was a great holiday for us all.The only disappointment is we couldn't get a booking for next year or 2026 with you. In the cupboard by the front door nd wardrobe in the double room do smell very musty.
- Sophia (6/5): Pleasant - Two bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen. Quiet street. Nice small walled garden. Comfortable beds. WiFi. TV channels. Parking is very difficult. House space is steep and tapers to very narrow. On street parking very limited and always full. Narrow steep street. Little natural sunlight due to low position and high walls. Hot water difficult - combi boiler turned off supply of hot when little pressure which is often. Washer dryer machine washes but dryer programme malfunctioned.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent location, steeped in history. - Parking spy Fiddly shower
- Michael (5/5): It was a pleasant stay but sadly not as restful as we had hoped. - The property was bursting with character, it was lovely to have outside space and the kitchen was well appointed. The kitchen cupboards and drawers were in turmoil when we arrived. The double bed was really uncomfortable and sounded like it was about to collapse with the slightest movement. The single beds were quite high off the floor with the size of the mattress and were quite unstable for children as a result. Our 10yr old struggled to get in to bed and one night fell out on to the wooden floor and hurt herself. The boiler failed leaving us with no hot water which was really inconvenient.
- Frances (8/5): Loved the location, enjoyed our stay - thanks. - All very clean and nice touch providing tea coffee and milk Very comfortable The bathroom - really need updating. The taps in the sink are too small difficult to get your hands underneath. The shower kept going cold (no-one was using the kitchen at the time) Not good for the amount we paid
- Debbie (8/5): Clean and comfortable cottage with everything you need. - Very comfortable and clean It was perfect for us
- Emi (9/5): Superb - We like to cook with local ingredients so we found the well-equipped kitchen a huge bonus with immersion blenders, baking tools and even a rice cooker and a wok! Location was great too as it was really close to some really good restaurants and a country produce shop for farm-fresh products and Lidl supermarket was an 10 min walk from the house. Nathan was a great host to anticipate lots of our needs and for being so accommodating! The shower and tap mixers were a bit unsteady but there was plenty of hot water for a nice bath!!
