Guest Reviews
- Liz (6/5): A sweet old cottage with lovely views but with many downsides. - This was obviously a well loved home that has got tired and could do with a revamp. It had a dated but well equipped kitchen. The house is quite gloomy but there is a lovely conservatory that has beautiful views over the meadows. There is a lot of good garden furniture complete with cushions. The house is quite small but has four fairly good sized bedrooms although the 4th bedroom has a very small double bed that would not be suitable for 2 so this house is definitely not for 7 only 6 and there is only 6 pieces of cutlery and crockery anyway! It has a lovely wood burner which works well in the sitting room. The main bedroom has a king sized double bed. Easy to walk into the village and to the Dog pub. The house is on a very busy road with no outside parking. You have to park your car up the road outside the church. The lady who owns the house kept turning down the heating remotely. This seemed very odd and not at all welcoming. Thank goodness for the wood burner - but bring your own logs. The garden is completely overgrown with foliage all over the paths which means you can't walk along them and so many loose pavings and a sunken pond area which wouldn't be good if you had kids. Shame as the view is really lovely. There is only one small family bathroom so would be a bit of a fight if 6 or even 7 were staying! It would be good if there was a table to eat on in the conservatory for wet days as the view is good which it isn't from the dining room.
